He was a patient of Companion Animal Hospital for about two years (when we moved to Austin). They used multiple testing equipment while searching for a diagnosis. Test after test proved nothing and I was heartbroken and so worried about my baby. When I told a friend what we were going through, she said, "This sounds like hemangio-sarcoma (blood cancer)!" Her friend's dog apparently had the same symptoms, so she recognized them. Now, how did a veterinary clinic NOT recognize these symptoms?? Instead, Companion Animal Hospital charged me thousands of dollars with so much prodding, and poking and charges, but they never once mentioned or suggested a sonogram. Sonograms are able to provide the answer quickly, efficiently, and for significantly less money. Isn't that ironic? I believe the veterinarians at this hospital allowed my dog to continue suffering, so that they could make thousands of dollars off of several tests because they knew they found someone who would do anything to help her dog. This is not just greedy, but it's downright cruel. I would never recommend allowing these people anywhere near an animal that you care for.

He explained dog language to me. I have one dog who likes to take control and train the humans around him. Kris showed me how to flip that in about 20 minutes. In just a 24 hour period of working on what Kris showed us, my Bailey is already about 90% with our first command. My 11 year old white poodle mix began to show lots of sudden fatigue, appetite loss, vomiting and diarrhea. I contacted their front desk and was encouraged to bring my dog Oliver in as soon as I could. They immediately took us in and began care for him. After a thorough examination and blood work his levels were not good at all. Dr. Brown immediately reacted and hospitalized Oliver for immediate care and observation. She then educated me on his diagnosis that he was ultimately in diabetic ketoasidosis. She explained with much care, clear and concise words for me to understand. She educated me what happened, that it wasn't my fault and her plan to treat him. She gave me the worst news but I felt so reassured and supported I knew my boy was in good hands. 24 hrs later Oliver is back to his spunky self prancing, eating and being lovable. She sent us home with clear instructions and medication to keep Oliver on the path to recovery. Oliver will be back in 2 weeks for a follow up visit. The cost was surprisingly less than anticipated and I can't thank her and her amazing team enough for all they did. Oliver will be going back to visit her on a regular basis to manage his newly diagnosed diabetes and I am 100% confident Dr. Brown is the best place for any pet needing help. 10/10 can't recommend this place enough. A friend found a neonatal kitten on her land, and was unable to keep it. Next thing I know I have a…read moretwo week kitten I'm responsible for, and with no experience with these things I was terrified. I took my new kitten, Mac to homestead since it was a mile down from my house to make sure my new found buddy was healthy and get him dewormed. I was worried because he was underweight when I got him, but the staff were able to get me in two hours after they opened! The staff were so sweet and welcoming, and answered all questions I had. The wait time was a little long, however it is also an urgent care and with that I understand that emergencies come first, so please don't let that deter you from giving this amazing place a try. The doctor, Dr.Coodrod, was amazing and walked me through the next steps in Mac's life. While we talked, they kept Mac on a heating source as his temp was low when I had come in. Dr.Coonrod went out of his way to show me how to properly stimulate my kitten, and after the appointment they sent me home with two gloves filled with warm water to keep Mac warm during the drive home. A few days after my appointment, the vet office reached out to see how my friend was progressing, which I'm proud to say he is gaining weight at a great rate. The prices were great, the staff amazing, and their bedside manner is top tier. I cannot wait to bring in Mac for his first set of vaccines in a couple weeks, and as long as I live in manor, my animals will go to this hospital. I spoke to a lovely person who didn't care that I was on speakerphone and needed them to repeat themselves a few times. ***Parking heads up- there was a car parked in what looked like it was blocking the alley to the vet's back lot. It was in a drop-off parking spot. So slow down when pulling in as the adjacent doggy daycare lot does not connect to the alley.*** Callie was our tech and she loved my cat like he was her own. Even if he did manage to wedge himself in the carrier in an effort to not come out- irony- as he hated being in it on the ride over! Dr. Pocernich was great- very knowledgeable and not alarmist about anything. They provided two options for blood tests/other testing- lab in-house and obviously a little pricier and one they send out but said they'd have results next day, even though tomorrow is a Saturday- they would be open. My cat and I went home finally vomit-free. Y'all, I was starting to run out of paper towels! His appetite improved and I believe he's back on the road to health! I received the vet name from friends who take their two goldendoodles and mini Bernedoodle here/there. And I'd highly recommend them as well. She's managing hyperthyroidism, and I haven't found a vet closer to home that comes close to the level of care Dr. Parker provides. You read that right--I drive 90 minutes each way for a vet appointment. And no, it's not just because I'm a crazy cat lady. Dr. Parker takes her time, answers all my questions (and I have plenty), and genuinely cares about Tilly's health and my peace of mind. Thanks to her thoughtful care, we've managed Tilly's meds and kept her thriving. My other two cats are still young and healthy enough that wrangling them for a trip to Austin isn't quite worth it yet. But trust me--if that changes, they'll be regular patients here again too. At the end of the day, Tilly's worth the drive. And so is a vet I can actually trust.
