The broth was supposed to be made with crabmeat but it didn't taste like it. The udon noodles was so overcooked that it broke in pieces once you pick it up with the chopsticks. So I had to use the soup spoon to pick it up carefully. It supposed to have crab meat in it but I only sound like one long piece of crab meat and four pieces of fried fish paste. At this point, this bowl is just overcooked broken udon and thick cornstarch soup. Also. I wish they would have let customers know they charge $1.50 for iced tap water. I would have just brought my hydroflask inside. Service was not so attentive and you have to pay at the cash register when done. We drove from LA to this place just to have a bad experience. I feel like this place is underrated. Every time my friends and I go it's not that busy. Not sure why because they have the BEST BANH CANH soup in OC, in my opinion. The A1 banh canh dac biet thick soup and an order the fried Chinese donuts on the side is my go to. My friends and I come to eat here at least once or twice a week. We crave it so much, even on a hot day. They have a pretty big menu, I haven't tried much of the other food, but it looks good on the menu/photo. Cha lua is a spongey pork sausage that my wife normally loves, I liked that it was grill d but it was incredibly salty. Even taking a piece and mixing mgnit with a spring roll to dilute it wasn't enough to calm the saltiness down. Noodles, pork, and egg rolls were fine. Banh Xeo, came soggy defeating the whole point of getting banh xeo. So many local places have the technique down to make this and banh khot nice and crispy. There were two containers of soup and I knew I had only ordered one thing here. Nope, it was my order but thats just how much they give you! Wow!
