We were seated right away, the food was amazing, my aunt loved the decor, and they were able to accommodate my sons pepperoni allergy. Our server Shannon was on top of our every need and had a great attitude. She even sang the most heartfelt rendition "Hollaback Girl" to help soothe my aunts sciatica. I still think back fondly on the pesto chicken pizza, which has to be the best pizza I've ever had. We love dining here and usually come for lunch. Today, our server, Noah M made our meal even more special. He was very attentive and checked on us often. My husband and I each had the pizza meal with iced teas, chicken wings and our own individual pizzas. I chose artichoke hearts, black olives and mushrooms and he chose sausage, black olives and mushrooms. When we heard that their sausage is cooked with fennel, I tried a piece of his sausage and loved it! In fact, it's the best sausage I've ever tasted and plan on ordering it next time. What a great spot to meet up with ppl or grab a pizza and enjoy the game! We came into town to meet up with a big family Who gathered here. We had the corner area with 2 large long tables. Pizzas were all orders by the time we got there. Lots of wonderful combinations of pizzas and flatbread types that I tried and enjoyed it. The restaurant was pretty big with lots of seatings by the bar, lower level and elevated level was where we sat with our whole group. I did have the waitress do 2 drink orders and both times, the drinks came out pretty fast for us, even with our big group. Love the wooden rustic ambience of the whole restaurant. So me and the significantly better half Cathi went to Chicago Fire this morning. We were the only customers in the well appointed restaurant on J St. Our server, Natalie B., sat us in a booth and took our drink orders. She offered Cathi a Shirley Temple and Cathi hadn't had one in a zillion friggin years so she said heck yeah. Natalie says she loves making them. It was delightful! All red and sweet and bubbly and loaded with cherries. We ordered a deep dish personal pizza, Caesar salad and cheesy garlic bread with marinara sauce. The Caesar was perfect. Crispy romaine, crunchy croutons, Parmesan cheese and dressing. It paired so well with the hot cheesy garlic bread. That bread was not ashamed to be garlicky. It said, "I am garlic. Hear me roar!" The bread and salad could've been a meal all itself. The pizza had a beautiful thick crust, San marzano tomatoes... And a magnificently long cheese pull. Three words: dee- lish- ous. Okay, three syllables! The TVs in the restaurant were showing an infomercial. Really? We asked Natalie if she could change it to anything else. She put on Wimbledon and that was cool. The restaurant has a nice fun, low key vibe and that infomercial was killing it. As we were finishing up a lovely meal another couple came in. I don't know why more people weren't in there. A delicious Chicago style Italian lunch for two for $23. Of course we split it because I had bariatric surgery and can no longer work servers to the bone bringing plate after plate. Here, you can get a solid 3 course meal and enjoy every bite. I think my own complaint is nothing is particularly outstanding or unique, but for basic eaters, this will be a good spot. The wait staff are very sweet and friendly. The interior is a bit dark but clean and spacious. Offerings: - Bone-In Buffalo Wings: A medium spice level was actually lower spice than I expected. There was quite a bit of sauce on them, so I would definitely ask for it in the side next time. They are already coated in a buffalo seasoning that is quite good. Comes with ranch and some celery sticks. I love homemade/housemade ranch but this was neither.) - Boneless Wings: Less sauce on these but still very good flavor. Same accoutrements. - Cheese Artichoke: I cannot imagine how much this was, but I would definitely not pay more than $8 for this. It is so simple to make and likely not that costly to produce. The artichokes have a bit of a briny flavor. The cheese hardly contributed to the dish and came off in two large clumps. Still enjoyable, just not great value. - Greek Fries: Decent. A smaller fry which I like and good flavor but nothing particularly special. Did not get Greek at all, just garlic. - Bruschetta: Looked great and fresh. - Thin Crust Traditional Margherita Pizza: yummy! Nothing super special, but good all around. - Deep Dish Delight: Very similar to a Pizookie from BJs. Honestly, delicious. We went for a friends birthday on a Tuesday. We expected to just stand at the bar and mingle but they weren't busy so they offered our large group 20+ 2 long tables on the elevated seating area. We ordered a variety of food and drinks, many people shared in smaller groups. The service was efficient and pretty attentive to notice new arrivals as the group grew. Everyone liked their food orders from pizza to apps and wings. My group of 3 ordered the package deal that came with boneless wings, a deep dish pizza and a dessert for $50, which was a great deal and plenty of food for the 3 of us. We even had some leftover. My only complaint is it seems they lost our pizza order? The drinks came out pretty quickly as did the wings and then we waited and waited and waited. During that time they tried to bring out our dessert several times to which I let the different food runners know that yes the dessert was ours but we didn't receive our pizza yet. After asking a few people to check our pizza finally came out but as the rest of the group was leaving for after dinner karaoke. We weren't in a rush so this was ok just a bit of an annoyance as we weren't very hungry. A couple friends stayed behind to keep us company. The pizza was really good once it came out. Very similar to one you'd get in actual Chicago. The dessert was little dough balls that came with dipping sauces and were really tasty, enough to share with our friends who stayed behind. All in all for a party this size with no reservation the staff did a great job. We'll definitely rely be back. I used to enjoy Chicago Fire in Elk Grove before it closed down, so now I make my way to the Midtown location. It has become my go to when I am craving their food, especially the wings, which I really enjoy. On my recent visit, we ordered the family meal, which is a great deal. It comes with an appetizer, a large pizza, and a dessert. Everything came out fresh and full of flavor. The food definitely did not disappoint. What really made this visit stand out was our server, Ken. He was on point the entire time. He was friendly, easy to talk to, and attentive without being overbearing. Diego, our waiter was amazing! The manager, on the other hand was extremely sub par. We had a question about opening the windows and Diego said that he would go ask about them. My girlfriend was looking at the window and seen the handle and turned it. She tried to open very gently but was unsuccessful. While she did not try to force the window open the manager arrived at this time, and berated her. As soon as he said they don't open she stopped and sat down. It didn't stop there. He kept going on and on about how he had to just replace a window even though she had stopped as soon as he had said not to do that. He was raising his voice and at this time the whole restaurant was looking at us. At this point we offered to pay for our drinks and cancel our order. The host seen that we didn't drink our drinks and said we don't need to pay for them. We left at this point. Will not be back here, which is sad as this was our first and last experience at this Chicago Fire location.
