I haven't stayed this hotel. However I use the hotel as a park and ride option. I usually use this hotel about every 3 to 4 months when flying out of Midway. There has never been an issue with my car, or anything. Generally the shuttle is a quick easy ride to the airport. You can usually get to the airport as the last stop in about 5 to 7 minutes. The drop off point is very central to check in for Southwest Airlines. I would check the shuttle information, as of recently it seems like it has changed. Before the shuttle would just come around ever so often depending on the hours, And you did not have to call. On my last use of this facility for parking, I waited in the lobby for 20 minutes until the shuttle drove right past me. I asked the front desk attendant why the shuttle didn't stop and she said that she had to call the shuttle and let him know I was here. I was really frustrated because I was there with so much luggage (3 suitcases) it was obvious I was waiting for the shuttle and it was early in the morning and I had been there for a long time. To me this just shows that the front desk staff were being lazy. I used to work on front desk and as your job to assess the lobby and see what's going on. The lobby was very quiet as it was early in the morning. Due to this I missed the shuttle and ended up having to pay for Uber to get me to the Airport in enough time to check my luggage and make my flight. The front desk attendance lack of attention attentiveness, Costed me a 40 minute delay plus an extra $15. All at all, this is still my go park and ride to the airport. The hotel itself is very clean, the lobby is warm, and there is an attached Starbucks. Additionally there are couches to sit on and the bathrooms were plentiful and clean. The hotel was very clean and inviting. I wish they had a complementary breakfast, the buffet runs $20 a person. When you have 3 little kids it just isn't feasible and you feel like you have to check out early instead of eating breakfast and then spending the morning swimming. Rooms were very cozy and the staff was happy to work there and very accommodating. This is a great option if you need a place to sleep during a layover. read more

What I like most about this particular Marriott is its location near Chicago Midway International Airport, its convenient location to the orange line el to the city and its wonderful hotel staff. First, a shoutout to Adam, the General Manager. He and his staff rolled up their sleeves and were very accommodating in so many ways. Meeting preparation can be a bit chaotic. Not a problem. Adam and his staff were very helpful and friendly. It was actually nice working with them. After the meeting, we held a reception. Adam and his team loaned us items we forgot and did what they could to ensure we had everything we needed. The meeting and reception were a huge success,. I stayed at the hotel, too. My room was immaculate. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. I look forward to staying there again. read more

This was a tough weekend for the hotel. It was Christmas weekend, many of the staff were off, and then Southwest Airlines cancels a bunch of flights. However, there were two managers on duty who handled it all like champs when the hotel suddenly got slammed with disgruntled customers and disappointed crew. One manager I honestly don't know her name (and she did a great job) but the other who checked me in and answered all my nagging questions, I do remember. She is MARGUERITA CHATMAN and she is the consummate professional that makes staying in a Marriott well worth it. I experienced and saw first hand how she deftly handled problems, answered questions and moved with the certainty and efficiency of someone who knows what they are doing--and who cares. Ms Chatman was Marriott spirit for me that weekend. This review is missing a star because of the television. I'm not a big TV person, but when I do want to chill out, I 'd like a decent TV. These are old and the interface (guide) is woefully outdated. Flat screens are cheap these days. The Marriott corporation needs to upgrade the ones in his hotel. Perhaps they should get Marguerita Chatman on it. I have no doubt, if they gave her the reigns, she would run with it. Brava madam Chatman! Brava! read more

He got an upgraded room so it was larger with a king bed and a view of the parking lot. Mini fridge, microwave, tv, ironing items and hairdryer. Always nice to have a hairdryer since my hair is so thick. I know people don't write much anymore but I needed a pen and they didn't have one. Luckily I found one in one of my suitcase pockets from another stay. Had to map out the to do activities. The bed was pretty comfy - not too soft where you sink in and not too hard where you can't get sleep on your side without discomfort. The pillows were of differing fluff so that was also a plus. I have neck issues so pillows are important to me. Masks are required in all public areas. Breakfast is served but approx $19 unless you are an elite rewards member. It comprises hot and cold dishes which change. And on the last morning they didn't serve breakfast. It was too early for me to ask why. I just headed to the Starbucks in the hotel lobby. The powdered eggs are much better if they have just been made. Not as rubbery. We got to compare since we ate breakfast twice and I can attest to that. There were mini crepes with whipped cream in the middle which were good, pancakes, hash browns, eggs, bacon, sausage links, cereal, oatmeal, toast, fruit, yogurt, pastries - that much I can remember. Juice and coffee on request. Not sure about other drink types. Was a decent breakfast but I wouldn't pay $19 for it. The hotel provides a shuttle to the airport. It takes share rides about 20 minutes to come out unless they are completing a trip at Midway airport. The shuttle is handy as you can catch it to the airport and take the train downtown. Cheaper and less hassle than a ride share which can be expensive and get stuck in traffic. One of the ride I took cost $90. It was ridiculous. Learnt my lesson. Took just as long as the train ride. I suggest taking the train - orange line is all you have to remember as the train loops around downtown and returns to the airport. Then you can take the hotel shuttle back to the hotel. There are several restaurants in the hotel compound and also in the area around the hotel. TGIF, Lou Malnati's, Panda Express, Culver's are some of them. Since he didn't like any of those, we took a ride share and went to eat at another restaurant. The hotel has an indoor pool, gym, convenience section and business center. Bring your towel or ask for one at the front desk. No towels in the gym either. There are ice and beverage rooms on the floor but no beverage machine in them, only an ice machine. You can get drinks and snacks plus odds and ends at the convenience section. And there is a Starbucks on site. The staff at the hotel are professional. Friendliness levels vary. Their knowledge on the hotel shuttle also varies and they need reminders if you let them know you want to ride the shuttle. The shuttle is supposed to come at the top of the hour and every half hour or something like that but it's all very confused since we waited with other people and the shuttle never showed up. So definitely remind them and leave early, especially if you have to catch a flight. Also, there are other perks for elite members but they don't tell you so you need to check. Parking is available although it is shared with the other hotels on the lot. I would stay here again. It helps that he is an elite rewards member. The location is not as convenient for activities but the hotel is better than average as it's been upkept. read more

One problem with the Marriott chain is your experience can be all over the place. There is no consistency across locations. Some are great others are dumps. This is closer to a dump. The amenities are sub par and very dated. Restaurant is like a two star strip mall experience. Members lounge is sad. Rooms are dated and feel like your grandmothers furniture. Front Desk attendant Tammy was very rude and uncooperative. Upon arriving, at 7:00 AM on 6/14/24, after a long flight we wanted to check into our reservation and receive our room. We had booked the room for the night prior to the flight as we caught a red eye and wanted to be able to get to our room once we landed. I will admit that as it was our first time booking here, we did not realize the protocol about our reservation being cancel if we had not called prior about our late arrival. As such our reservation was cancelled and we were to have to wait to receive our room. When speaking with the Tammy she proceeded to state that there weren't any rooms available and that we would have to wait until 3:00pm to check-in if one were to open up. During these conversations she remained unhelpful, disrespectful and inconsiderate about our concerns. Luckily the manager heard our concerns and prompted the front desk associate to assist us and see if there was anything available. To our surprise they were able to find a room and check us in within less than 5 minutes when supposedly there weren't any rooms available. During our stay when interacting with the front desk to purchase things from the convenience store Tammy proceeded to treat us how they initially did upon our arrival, yet treated other patrons with more respect and consideration. The room itself was ok. The walls are thin, the furniture and television are outdated, and the shower kit was not stocked. Overall our stay was mediocre at best and was only such thanks to the manager. We will not be planning on staying here next time we are in the area until there are changes made. read more

Beware of parking your car in the Marriott parking lot. My catalytic converter was cut off my car. The parking lot has no surveillance cameras and according to the Director of Loss Prevention the security officer at the hotel is not for customers security but to protect the company's building. If anything happens they will accept no blame and even laugh at you on the phone. Don't be fooled by their supposed security. read more

The staff was good, The room service was good, the facilties , bathroom, elivator not functional well, got stuck on elivator on 5th floor for 10 min as it swayed and made weird grinding noises. I didn't sleep was so scared of the experience. We called the emergency services from inside the elivator. The fire departmant came. The elivator finally started working. I am a MARRIOTT guy. The reason being I travel a lot and Marriott is always close to the area I am working at and it gives me options. Full service Marriott (or Courtyard Fairfield etc etc) In this case I choose the full service Marriott because I was meeting a client on property and it provided everything I needed for a successful meeting. There was a place to tuck away for a quiet and private conversation. When the timing was right we moved to the bar. Once you have a great meeting and you move to the social part of a meeting if the service and is anything less that stellar you loose some momentum. Here the service was outstanding! It is what I count on from Marriott and they certainly delivered. My check in experience was perfect. A friendly face and voice welcome you and they did everything they could to make me feel at home while away from home. My room was comfortable (I was given an upgrade) clean and the bed oh the bed.... love my Marriott bed and linens.Don't forget the towels! Nice and soft super crips and clean. My stay was everything it is supposed to be and a touch more. If you are staying close to Midway airport you really should check this Marriott out. Don't be surprised if it is actually cheaper than the Courtyard right next door. When that happens it is a no brainer be book here. Thank you for taking such good care of me! read more

I enjoyed my stay here. At the moment of entrance, I was greeted and checked-in by the front desk agent whose name is Brittany. She was very informative, like very very informative. I was looking for great places to find breakfast, lunch, and dinner and told her that I was trying to avoid downtown. She proceeded to give me an in-depth analysis based on what I told her I liked to eat. Although the parking was a rip-off--it was $17 even for customers who booked rooms, I think that this location's service made up for it. Moreover, my room was clean and I had no complaints. I also needed more towels, which was provided after a wait of about 20 minutes. Lastly, I think the small breakfast was just enough to send me on my way the morning of my departure. read more

I came to this marriot bday weekend. And it's been mess. The only thing I can say they got me room early . The carpet is outdated stains on wall and on ottoman. The door looks if it is cracked. Paid for concierge service and that is not case. The free breakfast not open and I have to keep telling the desk lady Margarita it's not opened. I definitely need some comp days off my bill this is ridiculous. Also the staff has attitude and any like the dont wanna be here. It's not work the money to stay here. This is a very sad hotel. Did you know that you cannot reserve and pay for a family member? They had me fill out a credit card form and it did no good. I tried to get someone to call me. They all wanted to hide behind their computer keyboards. This also happened when I tried to contact the Marriott corporate non-customer service. They all have scripts to say and have no leeway for original thinking. It is very frustrating. I am voting with my wallet and Marriott loses. read more

Prior to arrival we saw that our reservation said queen bed; we had asked for a king bed and that was a mistake made by the reservation agent who moved us from downtown to midway. We were greeted with the news that the hotel was fully booked so a king room was not possible... the room was missing the fridge, had NOWHERE to put luggage and there was no suitcase stand. We had our bags ON THE FLOOR, in the entryway , thereby blocking any emergency exit. This place DOES NOT live up to Marriott standards by ANY stretch of the imagination. Would never stay here again, or any Fairfield Inn and suites for that matter. read more

Stayed 5 nights over Labor Day weekend. The checkin process was quick and easy. They have a free shuttle bus from Midway airport, which was great. The location is near a lot of food options, a Walmart superstore and Target. The issue I have is the room. Specifically the bathroom. We stayed in a 2 queen room on the 2nd floor. There were red stains on the toilet, the sink bowl paint was peeling, there's absolutely no bath towel hangers, the shower drain cap won't stay open so we had to stick a bottle cap in between to drain the water while showering. Also there's a door that connects to the room next door. You can hear everything your neighbors are saying. I woke up because the lady next door was laughing. The walls are pretty thin. There's a lot of other hotel options on this block, so I would recommend staying at a cheaper place than to pay Marriott prices for a mediocre hotel experience. read more

The Copper Fox restaurant provides a good place to eat and breakfast has an omelette station! They have a nice Starbucks attacked as well! Rooms are good size and comfortable. Overall a solid airport hotel. For as much traffic as I'm sure this place sees, it is pretty clean and well run. The staff was pretty friendly and even tossed in free parking as I'm a platinum customer and they forget to ask if I was parking when I checked in. The first time here the bar was a joke.. slow service and not the most friendly. This time around, there was a whole new set of faces and they were much more pleasant. Starbucks onsite is nice.. but super busy! Concierge lounge is your typical selection. read more

Hotel Having a quick jaunt through Chicago, I needed a place to lay my head for the night which was close to the airport and this fit the bill perfectly. The Marriott is located in a complex of other hotels all within about 5 minutes drive over to Midway so they are ultra convenient in terms of time and location - you can watch the planes from the room in case you are bored. The hotel was, as is usually the case with the Marriott chain, clean and well maintained. The room was spacious and contemporary which worked for me. Efficient and professional front desk folks got me checked in and out in a flash. Overall a good place to lay your head but if you are looking to be in Chicago proper, there are closer alternatives. read more

Guests of the hotel do not have priority on the pool. They rent the pool out to swim instructors right during prime time for traveling families to jump in. Sorry no amenities for the people actually paying for them. The pool pump isn't up for the job either. There's enough chlorine to kill stuff but there's all kinds of matter floating along in that pool. Even some brown stuff. I'll just leave it at that. Eeek! read more

Staff are not wearing masks (including the housekeeper which was reported to the front desk) and not enforcing masks or social distancing. Room key does not work and was not fixed after reporting it. Having security (not wearing a mask in the lobby) let you in to your room where your belongings are defeats the point of having a key. read more

The hotel stay was nice overall. I went to my home town for the weekend and decided to stay in a hotel instead of with family and friends this time. I guess the price seems too much for me because I was "home" and don't usually have to spend money in that aspect but the rooms were clean, lobby clean. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly. We stayed for 4 nights. One of the days, they didn't come in and clean our room. We aren't slobs so it wasn't that bad, but we wanted the trash taken out because it was food in it and we wanted fresh towels. We didn't make a big deal about it. We just told the front desk the next morning so it wouldn't happen again. They apologized and it didn't happen again. If it weren't for that one thing, I would've given it five stars. read more

Really liked this hotel. The price was very fair and it was nice, clean, and friendly service. Beds were comfortable and rooms spacious. The hotel has a bar and Starbucks. They were fast with checkin and checkout. The were very gracious about letting us keep our luggage there for the day after we checked out. The ONLY reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is we asked for extra towels and 30 Minutes later nothing so we called the front office 3 times and no answer. Maybe just the person behind JD the desk at that time. We hunted down housekeeping and she hooked us up. The rest of the time the workers behind the front desk were awesome. read more

Pleasantly surprised. Amenities were on-par with other Marriotts, but staff at this location was noticeably well-trained. We got a great rate via Priceline, and everything went off without a hitch. Do note that parking is approx $20/night, and breakfast buffet is something like $16. No free coffee, either, since there is an attached Starbucks. Beware the train yard screeches from out back... you'll hear them at first, but then they'll blend into the background. Our only issue was a leaky toilet that ran every few minutes overnight. Had a nice stay at the Marriott. It was nothing fancy, but very clean and spacious so perfect for what we were wanting. I don't typically stay at Marriott properties so I wasn't sure what to expect but it reminded me much of a Hampton Inn. The room was ready when we arrived and I was able to pick whether I wanted two double beds or a king which was nice. We opted for the king and it was very comfortable. I also really liked the shower because the water pressure was excellent (a rarity in hotels lately). Vanessa at check-in was super friendly and helpful. We also took advantage of the bar area locked at the Copper Fox right next to the lobby. Overall the stay was not anything special but it was exactly what we needed. Reviews seem to go both ways with this location, but I was very impressed. First, the location is next to a Lou Malnati's (yum), and minutes from Midway Airport. Secondly, the staff was friendly, lobby was nice, and the hotel seemed very clean. There is a Restaurant/Gastropub on site which was convenient as well.
