So, if I'm judging this place for the pizza, I gotta say it's amongst my favorites!! I haven't got to dine in but I was able to order here for takeout. I can't really remember if it was with Uber Eats, Doordash, Postmates or Grubhub, but it was definitely one of those! Anyway, often times I'm not able to go in & eat so I have to order and the process was pretty easy. What I liked is that many places don't allow you to modify your order online and this one did, so to me, it says they're not lazy. Because believe it or not, some places will not work with any sort of requests and given the fact that it's already expensive to order thru an app, I think it's ridiculous! But getting to the food, my order arrived, it was still really hot so not having to microwave it is a plus- still nice & fresh. I loved the thickness & taste of the pizza. The texture felt right. I've never had pizza in Chicago but I hope it tastes like this lol. The green chili cheese fries were alright. Not my favorite but I'm pretty picky so it's a texture thing for me for sure! Doesn't look like much when yo walk past. Do yourself a favor and keep walking. The hot wings were anything but. Came out cold and when we asked for another order, politely, we were met with quite a nasty attitude. The pizza was worse than the wings. No longer Pizza 9, it's not the CPK you're thinking about. It's ok if you don't think of it as Chicago style pizza. It's pricey for what you get. The wings are thin and slathered in buffalo sauce even when plain was requested. The garlic bread is delicious. It's not enough to save the joint. There are signs meant to deter possible robbers, owner armed with a gun and surveillance. Not the most welcoming or professional image. So why pay so much for a non-Chicago-style Chicago style pizza from a poorly decorated, inattentively staffed, camera ridden, gun disadvantaged place in a pocket end of a mini-mall? Just go to Scarpa's and have a glass a wine with a brick oven baked pizza. read more

Sorry Chicago Pizza Kitchen....everything about this place is just ho hum. The "decor", is outdated, with sports photos, black beams and trims, soft jazz playing in the background...nothing really grabs you. The employees...no personality, just going through the motions. The food - I can't speak for the pizza, we only got the Italian Beef sandwiches. They use greats buns and they serve the sandwiches with a side of jus. The problem is the beef has no real seasoning or flavor. The jus tastes like beef bouillon. Authentic Chicago Beef sandwiches are full of seasoning and flavor. The menu on the wall inside and on their advertising show that soup is offered. I asked what kind of soups were available and was told, "We don't have soup." The menu also states that the sandwiches are served with potato chips or fries. I asked about that and was told that the sandwiches are served with chips but fries were an additional charge. With a little effort, and passion, who knows how far this place could go. But as it is, it's just mediocre. All in all, you probably won't leave unhappy, but you probably won't leave happy either. read more

Ordered the True Chicago and got a pan pizza. Told the manager and they fixed making me what I ordered.... It looks like same dough for the pan pizza but cooked in a Chicago deep dish pan. The crust is flaky and buttery like "real Chicago" pizza. I ate the pizza and it was okay but only giving 2 stars because it is not really Chicago style pizza. Ordered a pizza online. I didn't receive the confirmation that was supposed to appear on the page so I called them. There was no record of my order so he asked me what I had ordered on the pizza. I told him and he said about five minutes. I asked if the payment went through and he said yes. My son drove over to pick it up - no pizza, no order. I'll check my credit card statement on Monday. I'm from Chicago, and this pizza is beyond disappointing, and does not have the right to call its self Chicago Pizza. Lets begin at the topping, the sauce, it barely covered the toppings and the cheese could be seen. And no flavoring. The pepperoni was a single layer so thin you could see through it, forget tasting it. The mushrooms were pieces so small hard to identify. Overall there was no taste, that's far from a Chicago Pizza, unless you don't know what its suppose to taste like. read more

In need of major help. Manager did not know how to ring in order, took several minutes to ring in one pizza and a salad. When ordering, you must say "Chicago style" or you get regular. No where on the menu does it say regular pizza. You also have to ask for plates from behind the counter. Manager had to ask delivery driver for help. Problem with proper temperatures with everything we ordered. Salad was wilted, warm and served in a takeout box. Not sure the refrigerator was even working. Single serve ranch was gelatinous and warm. Pizza on the other hand was cold, cheese was not melted. Looked more like a bread bowl of chunky tomato slop. We didn't chance eating the salad or pizza. But, I was most taken aback by the owner arguing with a customer on the phone about a take out order! In front of other customers!! I really wanted this place to be stellar, but it's far from edible. If you're looking for authentic Chicago style pizza, THIS is the place to go in ABQ. Dough flavor is light and buttery, marinara on top is chunky and tastes fresh made. Toppings are not heavily loaded, but this allows you to taste all the flavors the way it should be. Outside if the building looks sort of dive-ish, but I've found this usually means the food is great. This certainly held true here. It's not a fancy, designer-styled restaurant, for which I'm grateful. Highly recommend this place. Come hungry! read more

Really good pizza! We got delivery, it took a while and we were less than a mile away but still really good pizza. Beat we've had in the NE Academy Heights area and we've been searching! BUT the only thing is the LARGE is tiny. Said 12 pieces but we had to double cut do kids could get some and even then with 6 adults we only had about one each, which with pizza is never possible! read more

I have driven by this place countless times. I got a coupon in the ValPack thing in the mail and the family and I decided to try it out. Great customer service, clean and welcoming on arrival. Placed our order and grabbed a booth. LOVED the honor table to fallen military members. Loved the car show awards. Pizzas was done perfectly, their dough is awesome!! I came in to tonight to see what a "Chicago" pizza was all about with my date. I have to say the pizza was great, the atmosphere was pleasant but Mr. Joe was awesome. He has such a down to earth way that makes you feel at home. He recommended the Chicago Pizza and said we could put whatever we wanted on it. I asked him if he was sure and joking he said he would be more than happy to add ice cream with hot fudge and ketchup!!! He is great. Everyplace needs a Mr. Joe. Please keep him!!! Excellent pizza! The "True Chicago" deep dish is our favorite (try the Lobo), but the green chile stuffed crust deluxe is great too. Hard to choose so we get both. Good, fresh ingredients. The fresh tomato based sauce on top of the True Chicago is delicious. The spinach and garlic pizza (the Popeye) is as good or better than the one at Whole Foods (and not as expensive). One of the best pizza places. The pizza had a crispy crust and the cheese was melted perfectly. My daughter who usually eats just the cheese and toppings ate 2 full slices. My husband loved the philly cheese steak. We will be going here from now on for our pizza. read more

We order Lou Malnati's from Chicago all the time but I've really wanted to find a local place. Sadly, this place is just okay. The tomato sauce did have some Lou Malnati flavor but everything was undercooked. Like I could see the shredded cheese still in chunks under the toasted top. It was not melted at all in the interior. The rim was nice and crunchy but the middle was more like pizza 9. We also got the chili cheese fries and some garlic parm wings. Again, seasoned well, but the fries were limp and cold and underdone and the wings were soggy and not crispy. We showed up to pick up at the 15 minutes stated in the confirmation email and it supposedly was just coming out of the oven and we live very close so travel wasn't a factor. We ended up having to put it in the oven to finish the cooking. Please cook it all the way and you guys could be awesome. read more
