Ordered Green Chile Cheese Fries and the All Meat Chicago Pizza for delivery. There were plenty of green chilies and cheese on the fries, but was not seasoned well. The pizza was delicious. What flavor I could extract was good, but hard to appreciate in such a miserly pie. Chicago deep dish is famed for its crust, oozing cheese and abundant red sauce. Covid games are over. Get change in your register! You still refuse to give me coins when I give cash for my meal. PLUS you charge a service fee when I come inside to order, pay cash, and take out my order. What exactly is this service fee over and above the taxes and credit card fees? I didn't pay with a credit card. I received no "service" except someone did their job, by the way with the wrong type of crust than I ordered. No one cleaned a table, served me, refilled my beverage....Quit playing money games. You have a veteran's discount? And where is that posted. It is not visible, just like the small sign that says WE STEAL ANY CHANGE YOU ARE DUE. You need to rethink your business model. The story about how your previous employer cheated you on paychecks...So you opened your own restaurant. And now you steal from customers. Not groovy. I was craving a nice, big, cheesy Chicago pizza so I ordered one from these guys last week. Omg it was absolutely delicious. I got one of the True Chicago specials and it had mushrooms, black olives, and sausage on it. The veggies tasted great and the sausage was amazing. It had just enough spice. The sauce is so yummy and has a bit of sweetness to it. The cheese was melty goodness. I was disappointed to find out that they don't offer delivery. I had to order it from Grubhub to have it delivered, but it was worth it. It really hit the spot. I also ordered their tiramisu and that was equally delicious. I can't wait to order from them again. Stayed overnight at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott near the airport in Albuquerque. Arrived around suppertime; we were hungry but not up to eating in a sit-down restaurant. Luckily there were flyers at the front desk for an Italian restaurant just down the street. We took one of the flyers to our room, mulled it over and gave them a call. It went to voicemail but had a nice greeting about how you could order online if you didn't want to wait. But the guy called us back before we even had a chance to get to the website, which was really an unexpected courtesy. We were hoping they offered delivery to the hotel, but he said they only had carryout. We decided to go ahead and place an order anyway. We ordered a small (9-inch) "The True Chicago" pizza in Margherita style (roma tomatoes, fresh basil, olive oil) and a ravioli pasta dish. When we drove to the restaurant (they said it would be ready in only 15 minutes, which was a nice surprise given it was during the 6 p.m. hour!), it was locked up tighter than a drum even though the flashing sign out front said "OPEN" and there was a dining area in the front that we could see. There were signs on the door about how they had a gun and didn't mind using it to protect themselves if need be. I thought, whoa! Are we in a really rough neighborhood? But we called the number and he said we needed to come through the drive-through to get our order. We walked over to the drive-up window but the glass was blacked out. We realized he probably meant for us to DRIVE up to the window, which would trigger a notice to him, so we did that, and he opened the window. He was really nice and even wished us a Happy New Year! Our best guess is that they must have been robbed at gunpoint and rather recently given all of the stepped-up security. Anyway, once we got back to our room we ate every last morsel of our food and it was all DELICIOUS! He even threw in a couple slices of garlic bread for free, which was a really nice surprise. Also, the pizza also had spinach on it that was obviously seasoned with fresh fennel -- another nice surprise and a sign of authentic Italian cuisine! We definitely would order from them again. I just hope they don't have any more attempted break-ins/robberies/etc., as their food is a really fantastic epicurean experience! read more

I am sitting in this.... Lord what can you call this place in the Albuquerque desert? An oasis, truly, an oasis. In every sense of the word. Im traveling on business and this was a recommendation from one of the workers, and I just didn't feel up to the 18 min drive from the hotel. It was late, blame me. But let me just say, worth it. Every, single, minute. Worth it. I ordered the calzone, built my own, and was, I'll admit, a little nervous. It's not a chain, so you know, cautionary tale right? I regret every second of anxiety. These guys know Chicago deep dish. You might be thinking, hey, you got a calzone. But that's exactly how heavenly that pizza was. I stayed at ate my calzone and the smells and Mr. Joe's welcoming attitude and superb pleasantries convinced me to take a chance on the extra pizza. I got a small true Chicago and.... Im running out of words, can you salivate in your head to bumble words? The smells coming off this reminds me of home cooked marinara spaghetti sauces. I can see the onions and tomato chunks. It's literally all I can do right now to not finish this. The number of stars do not do this place justice, Albuquerque, how did you of all places end up with this fantastic gem of a restaurant. Absolutely the worst pizza I've ever had. I thought I'd give this place one more chance as the last time I came here I was thoroughly disappointed. Well, no different this time. The pizza was barely cooked, had very little cheese and pepperoni on it and the sauce was literally sitting on one side of the pizza. I also had to cut it myself when I got home. It was so under cooked that the crust was all limp and it looked as though it had imploded and collapsed on itself. I wish I had taken a pic but my kids were so hungry, they ate it anyway. I called and all they could say was sorry, no offer to make things right. I should've known by the empty parking lot and dining area that this place is probably on their last leg. Extra bonus they told me they make the lasagna from scratch! The lasagna was so awesome with lots of beef and cheese so delicious but back to this pizza....that crust was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We wanted to give it a try despite the mixed reviews because we love Chicago style pizza so much. I signed up for the rewards program and received a $5 off code. I attempted to order online. No where (that I could find) does the website allow you to enter a promo code, so I ended up calling to place my order for pick up. I arrived and I was able to show my email to get the $5 off. The woman at the counter asked if I wanted a receipt... I said yes. She did not give me my receipt. Now as far as the pizza... I ordered the 14 inch and I thought it appeared a little small. I measured it when I got home and it measured exactly 12 inches. Did they give me the wrong one? Or does it in fact shrink that much when cooking? Disappointed none the less. I would've ordered it with a little extra sauce. The temperature of the pizza in the middle of the slice is just not quite warm enough (I've seen in other reviews where people have in fact cooked it more at home which is not acceptable. If I wasn't so lazy I might have done the same). Overall, the flavor of the pizza is just "meh", but it did satisfy my Chicago pizza craving... just barely though. I will probably order again just purely out of craving, but I'm sure I'll be mostly disappointed once again... especially because of the price. read more

Sadly the pizza wasn't a proper Chicago style pizza. The wine bottles and glasses behind the counter are just for show. They don't actually serve wine. I really had to go to the bathroom and the doors require a code. I went up to the counter to get the code, repeated the code and when I went to try it, it didn't work. I tried 4 times. Then my husband went and tried it and it didn't work. Then there was no one at the counter so I ended up walking back up to the brewery that we had been to to use their bathroom. Came back and we had our pizza. Flavor is ok but the crust is more like a regular crust pizza, just higher up in the pan. Sadly disappointed. read more

This pizza is legit! I moved here from Chicago and have really missed Chicago thin crust. I ordered a small (9") thin crust cheese pizza and it was the closest thing to Chicago pizza I have had. I loved it but it was truly a small pizza and I should have gone bigger to have leftovers. My friends got deep dish pizzas and loved them. I would say they have a similar crust - and sauce to Lou Malnati's (if you know, you know) . My only slight negative was that they were short staffed and there was no table service - so you order at the counter and then go pick up when it's ready. Not a huge deal. Next time I will probably order ahead and just pick up at their drive thru window and eat at home. Overall, really good pizza! read more

This review is for a carry out order on Nov 28th. The wife and I were talking one night and we started talking about pizza, for some reason, and one of us mentioned the Chicago Pizza Kitchen. That talk made us both want to try their deep dish pizza, so after we did a memorial for my sister (whose birthday was on this day), we decided to give them a try, since we were in the Heights. Since COVID sucks, we placed an order online and picked it up on the way home. When we got home (westside of ABQ and about 25 mins later), I decided that there was no way we were going to eat a lukewarm deep dish pizza. So, cranked oven to 375 degrees and heated up the pizza for 10 mins. Not sure if we ruined anything, but.... the pizza tasted AWESOME. We ordered the true deluxe, removing the onions, added green olives (very good) and green chile. After heating it back up in oven, it was very good and tasty. The dough was good, and the high lip crust of the deep dish was nice and crunchy at the top, and soft in the middle. We only ordered a medium, which was a bit smaller than we expected, but it was still a very good pizza. The place is supposedly owned and operated by a veteran, which made me feel good to help out not just a local spot, but a fellow vet. We would definitely try them again, for sure. read more
