Ordered online & it said ETA 20 minutes. I got there in 3 minutes & asked the staff if my order would really take 20 minutes. Instead of asking me for my number and checked the status of my order, they said sometimes it does take 20 minutes. I waited over 20 minutes & no one ever called my number. I went to the counter & it tuned out my drinks were ready long time ago (maybe 2 mins after I walked in the store). I was so mad that they made me wait over 20 minutes. Love that there's a chicha in Alhambra now. There were a lot of workers behind the counter and you still smell the scent of great tea when you walk in. The atmosphere is still a clean aesthetic. Lots of tables and chairs to sit inside. Came here on a Sunday afternoon and there was a very very short line (maybe less than 5 people) and not crowded inside. Ordered within 5 minutes and waited no more than 10 mins for both my drinks. Drinks taste the same quality wise and I was very happy about that. Their peach dong ding oolong tea is by far my favorite drink. So refreshing and sweetness if perfect! 10/10 am def coming back to this location. read more

This location is no longer a very good place to work. The wifi is pretty unreliable and too slow to even browse the Internet. Not sure why it is so much slower than when it was soft opening but it is. Chairs are no longer on one side of the tables and there are no large group tables. First time trying this since I was in the city. I've always drove by the San Gabriel location and it was always packed. I went during noon time and it wasn't busy. Staff was very helpful in suggesting what is popular so I got the oolong milk tea with boba. The tea flavor is strong and the boba was perfect chewy. They have their other location at sg which I go often but found out they opened at Alhambra so I got to check it out. Lines are about 20-30 min wait and around 25 mins to get the drinks. I got the peach dong ding oolong tea light sugar, no substitutions or toppings can be changed and a hot high mountain pouchong tea no sugar. They have a machine that freshly brew one drink at a time. I normally avoid bubble milk tea because of the carbs but I'll always make an exception for theirs even if it's one of the more expensive versions out there. Parking available in the structure behind the store or side streets. Wait for your drink can take awhile, especially as they get busy, because they freshly brew each cup of tea. read more

Went for the first time last week and was impressed with the new location. It is very open with lots of tables for guests to work on their laptops or catch up with friends. There's also a lot of space for guests to wait for their drinks. The cashier taking our order was nice and patient. We waited about 10 mins for our 5 drinks on a Friday afternoon. It's a bit pricey, with drinks around $7+, and with tax, it can reach up to $8. Considering the small cup size, it does feel expensive. 3 things that make this place a bit hard to stand out 1. Prices -- This place's drinks are $7+. For their regular tea base, it's already $6, and it's an additional $1 to "add cream" which, at that base price, is usually already included for other boba shops that sell milk tea. 2. Size -- For the $7+ price point the drinks are in roughly 14 ounce cups, again other places are slightly cheaper (around $6) and usually are in 20 ounce cups. 3. Competition -- there are several shops in the area (7 Leaves, Bobacraft within walking distance) and others just a few miles away. There's just so many places lol With that said, the quality of the tea needs to extraordinarily stand out among others in order to justify its price point and quantity. I had previously tried their Pouchong Orange Tea at San Gabriel a long while back which I thought was good but not amazing. For their new store, I went with their regular Milk Tea with less sugar. Taste wise, it was good. The sweetness was just right and their cream really balanced the flavors of the tea very well. However, it didn't personally justify a higher price with less tea. In terms of its flavor, I would say it's pretty similar to that of Wushiland's milk teas (the creaminess itself is). Overall, I probably wouldn't come back here again unless to do work on a weekday. There's several tables with outlets and the overall vibe was fairly quiet (except for the giant speaker that is constantly echoing order numbers). read more

Finally more location of Chicha. I've been waiting a long time to finally get my hands on the elusive (and smaller) cup of boba tea from Chicha but all other locations always have a ridiculous line. Parking here is in the back in the public garage or out front but it's really tough out front since there are 3ish spots. You have to enter through the front and you are greeted with a very bright and clean feeling spot. The line starts in the middle of the counter and go towards the front of the store (a bit odd but whatever). You essentially build you drink with all the parts that you want or you can order pre-selected combos. Ordered the osmanthus with boba, less sweet. I tried to ask for less boba to try to limit my boba intake but they said it was already pre-filled. A bit odd that they couldn't just scoop a new cup with less boba and it wasn't like I was going to pay then less for less boba. The drink took about 10 mins to make because they still had a number of orders in front of me. The tea itself was great. Strong tea flavor so didn't feel watered down. As for the boba, it was A LOT and it has a wintermelon-y flavor to them that was interesting and a pleasant surprise. The texture was still a bit tough at the core for me. Not sure if it was this batch or the way they make it as an al dente boba. That said, the flavor of the boba made me forget about the texture. It is pricey but I enjoyed it and maybe not my go-to, I'd happily come back again. read more

I am glad that there is a closer location to me than the San Gabriel one however the service here feels slower when busy -- waited 45 minutes total (approx 15-20 folks in line). Staff that took order is friendly. Despite how busy it was there were enough tables and chairs to sit. Exit is awkward when there is a long line of folks waiting to order; had to walk through everyone and say excuse me. I will give it a 4 star because taste and quality is consistent as other location but after visiting this location three times, they have put more ice in this one each time, I finish my drink in like 2 sips. Also beware of the hours, this location is closed on Wednesdays and today Sunday I think because of holiday weekend. I might have to continue doing the longer drive to San Gabriel for a more smooth experience. read more

This Alhambra location has much more space for those people wanting to bring a laptop to do some work or studying. I went there in the afternoon during the weekdays so there was no line for the place. Service was great. The inside is nicely decorated and has a lot of space unlike the San Gabriel location. Drinks, I got the High Mountain Pouchong tea with lemon juice and my boyfriend got Peach Dong Ding Oolong with Mousse, the Peach one was good. The tea, the sweetness from the mousse was perfectly balanced. However, I was kind of disappointed for the High Mountain tea with lemon juice. Honestly, it's just like lemonade and I did not taste the tea at all. Just straight lemonade.
