LOL I gave it 4 stars though because they knew what they were doing in order to get the line moving, and the people who helped us were great - but in terms of sandwiches there are many other alternatives on this island that you can go to that taste on par or even better. Only time I have gone here was on the mainland. Didn't know what to expect but I had really high hopes as I had heard a lot of good things. Well, it was pretty disappointing on the mainland. Because of that experience I was hesitant to stand in line to try it again. However we headed out to try it on a Thursday. Line wasn't too long at 6:20 pm. Waited only about 8 minutes or so. Grand opening review Yes, they've been open a few weeks now, but they are definitely still in that wait-in-line-with-anticipation mode. We got in line about 9:50 (opens at 10) and got food about 10:20. The line was probably 100 people deep and wrapped around back towards Mia's Kitchen. But it was all hands on deck! Multiple managers & cashiers as well as order takers going through the early line to get orders prepped. The efficiency is amazing! I had one spicy & one original chicken sandwich deluxe (lettuce & tomato) and the waffle fries. I prefer the traditional, which has more spices. The fries were great as well. Not a full menu yet - no biscuits, but maybe some day... Don't be discouraged by the line, it moves faster than you think! read more

I always knew I ate my feelings but it is good to know I am not alone lol. After a horrible two weeks at work, one of my coworkers had asked the rest of us if we had wanted to eat Chick-fil-A for lunch. So I exclaimed, "Christian chickens?! Let's do it!" And we enjoyed our "Christian chickens" so much that day that we have made it a point to stop by at least once a week so that we can all get our fill. If you don't understand why we reference Chick-fil-A as "Christian chickens," just google the company and you'll understand why. Now while I had a wonderful experience on my first visit that I do contribute to the employee who had assisted me at the ordering station (and whose name I wish I had taken down for a shoutout because he was phenomenal) as well as Ikaika, one of the co-owners of this location who is always ensuring that operations runs as smoothly as possible and makes sure to tell everyone to have a "blessed day" before they leave, I have noticed with each subsequent visit that the quality of service and/or ability to fulfill an order has gradually declined. These changes range from disgruntled employees (we've all had our bad days but can I just get my entire order in? T_T) or missing food items that aren't noticed until we're already at our destination and away from Chick-fil-A. However, I will say that when I did call and leave a message (they currently have no live person answering phones but will respond to any messages within a 24 hour period) about my missing Chick-Fil-A nuggets that I got a prompt response (not even a few hours later) and was told that I could pick-up my nuggets at their Care Counter and give them the name of the person who had called. So on a subsequent visit (which happened to be in addition to our regular Chick-fil-A visit day), I did visit the Care Counter and was assisted by both Wina and Ikaika. Wina was quick to address my inquiry and spoke with Ikaika who then came over to talk to me. Ikaika was apologetic and quick to package my Chick-fil-A nuggets and even asked if I wanted sauces, which I told him I was okay on since I had some already with my other order (you bet I came prepared lol), so he just handed over my nuggets and in typical fashion wished me a "blessed day," while also thanking me for being a customer. One of the things I have to appreciate is how involved Ikaika is with this location because you can always tell how much care he has when either helping out operations (as was the case with today) or even just assisting customers. Now onto the food...I generally stick with the #2 (Spicy Deluxe Chicken Sandwich Meal) or #8 (Grilled Club Sandwich Meal), and usually always with a side of Chick-Fil-A nuggets. I like the #2 because it isn't too spicy but has just the right amount of heat and full of flavors, whereas the #8 is a really good every day type of sandwich. The cheese pairings with these sandwiches are also what helps them taste so good (#2 comes with pepperjack cheese whereas #7 comes with colby jack cheese). Plus, the waffle fries that come with are just...*chef's kiss*. The Chick-fil-A nuggets are also good (both the regular nuggets and the grilled option) but there are times where it has been overly cooked and rubbery, but when it is made right, it is just pure perfection. Plus, how can you go wrong when you can ask for whatever sauce imaginable and not get charged extra? Though on the other side...if you upsize any item of a meal, there are additional charges. However, in a general sense, it is still nothing compared to the free sauces. My recommendations (if you have never been) would be the Chick-fil-A sauce, the Garden Herb Ranch, and Sweet & Spicy Sriracha. Their Sunjoy is also the perfect combination of Sweet Tea and Lemonade and a must try, especially for those that love the tea lemonade combinations from Starbucks. Overall, I would definitely recommend Chick-fil-A if you are in the area and happen to be in the mood for chicken, waffle fries, and/or milkshakes (or even Sunjoys!). The food has been for the most part really good and the customer service, especially provided by Ikaika, is just hard to beat. It could also be that since they are still a relatively new business that they are going through growing pains. I mean, will I stop visiting because of some bad experiences? Probably not because I do love me some fried chicken and free sauces...but I just hope that I don't have to visit again just to collect on food items that were previously paid for and not received. read more

Dont just go up to the counter because that aint where you go to order.... Look for the long counter with turnbuckles to form a line.... This is where they take your order. The staff seemed pretty cool and dedicated to do what they are paid to do. This location is located in the food court so seating is within the court. Menu is straight up chicken sandwhices or tenders not much more besides sides and drinks. I went with the #2 spicy chicken sandwhich which just has pickles no dressing (but they have I think like 6 different sauces you can get on the side to add on your own) The chicken sandwhich I recalll eating in washington was real good... quality chicken seasoned and cooked perfectly .... On this visit I got this rubbery textured chicken and several times there was some nasty muscle or something I bit into and had to spit it out before I heaved...I would guess I was just lucky to get the nasty one ....I remember their waffle fries being alot better tasting and more crispy too.... I know the morales and beliefs of Chik-fil-a has been compromised and things has changed since the founder passed not sure if there is any correlation but for now this location will not make my options of places to eat while at the Alamoana food court list. read more

What's impressive is they seem to have trained all the employees on how to deal with the long lines of customers so they were prepared when the crowds came once they opened. I'm also pleased in their customer service when it comes to correcting an error made on a customer's order. I had ordered a spicy chicken deluxe sandwich and only opened it when I got home to realize they didn't make the sandwich correctly. It was just a chicken breast and 2 slices of pickles. No cheese, no tomatoes, no lettuce. I called their number and left a voice mail since no one answered the phone. Although I never got a call back until a week after, the manager did call to apologize and offer another sandwich. When I finally made my way back to Chick-fil A about 2 weeks later. I was able to go straight to the counter, give the manager's name who left the message and get not only a free sandwich but the manager on duty added fries and a drink. OVERRATED!! I was a fan of Chik - fil - A when I had it in California. We tried this location at the Makai Market food court in Ala Moana when they first opened and we're impressed with their service efficiency. The food back then was not up to the standard I recall from the California stores and the manager said we are working out the kinks and give us a try again later. We went there for lunch today and the lines are way shorter then when they first opened and the hype wearing down . Still fast efficient service and unfortunately the food not any better. Ordered 3 chicken sandwich combos and a 8 piece nugget. Total almost $50. Fries were not hot and tasted stale the chicken in the sandwich was not crisp on the outside like I remember and was rather soft and wet/damp, probably from steaming in the foil pouch it comes in and not a box. Here's the best part! When a customer gives feedback to (management/workers dressed different from the red shirts) it's a good thing because you can get feedback on their experience. The shorter Caucasian guy with curly hair behind the counter got defensive when I asked him if they changed their chicken recipe. He blurts out, NO, we follow everything directly from head quarters and do not do anything different here. Well I call BS because in the mainland the sandwich comes in boxes not in foil pouches that make your chicken soggy and wet. Rather than asking if anything was wrong he gave the quick ok I'll let them know response rather than genuinely trying to listen. I went back to the counter and asked one of the workers what his name was. Get ready for this. She says "I don't know because he never introduced himself." Sad! The grill nuggets was a joke! Seriously I don't understand what the hype is? Nothing special literally. You can use a George Foreman grill and make your own chicken nugget. It was greasy and salty, and they cut it into 7 tiny pieces and charge you $9.00 The strawberry and cookies n cream milkshake was good. The waffle fries were soft. I stopped by the Alamoana food court before my nail appointment! I didn't realize we had a Chicfila here so i tried it for the first time since visiting the mainland and OH. MY. GOD!! The worker taking my order was so kind and answered all of my questions about the menu and even suggested to me items that would align with my diet! Definitely 5 stars for Rachel; her customer service skills are the best I've experienced in fast food environments! I find the way they take orders so cool lol!! Mobile Order is the only way to go! You avoid the long line & wait time is cut in half or more since your food will be ready or close to it upon arrival. You gotta pay over the phone & when you get there you stand in the mobile order line & press the "I'm here" button then an employee will call your name w/ your order. Food is always delicious & cooked fresh. I say the quality is the same as the mainland ones. I ordered the spicy chicken deluxe w/ friends it's roughly I believe $13 give or take but really reasonable. It's located in the mall (makai food court) all I can say is be prepared to stand in a long line for your food. They have people taking your order at the beginning of the line then you gotta wait for it. It's very loud because other business are literally next to you & it does get hot with the amount of bodies just waiting in the long line. I avoided trying this place because I was worried about the line but my cousin reassured me that they went recently and it was fast. We were at ala moana and decided to check out how long the line was and honestly it didn't seem bad. The way they have it set up was very organized. While you're waiting in line they have menus to look at and then an employee walks up to you and takes your order/payment. By the time you reach the front, your order is ready. Honestly not bad of a wait, been in slower lines for establishments that weren't even half as busy. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich deluxe with fries. Spicy chicken sandwich, not bad but not as good as popeyes, but I will say that all of the ingredients tasted fresh. Fries, needs to be more crispy. I do wonder if they can fry a little extra if you ask them to? Both of the sauces were good, probably my favorite part of the meal. I decided to check it out today since I was in town. The line may look long but it's actually really quick. At least for us... not sure if the time we went made a difference but we stood in line for 10 mins. The line starts outside the food court door (next to jollibee), once you get to the beginning of that line the Chick-fil-A staff will give you a number with a QR code for the virtual menu and will give you a paper menu if you'd like. You'll walk in straight ahead and hand your number to another Chick-fil-A staff and will direct you to the ordering line which splits into two lines. They have multiple Chick-fil-A staff in each line taking orders so for me, we literally stood in line for 10 minutes. After ordering and paying, you'll stay in that line and another Chick-fil-A staff will run your order to you. Very organized and well thought out. It was a smooth transition from the line outside to receiving your order. Food was yummy! Fries were hot and fresh even though mines had way to much salt, the sandwiches were awesome. It isn't anger but flat-out disappointment. I am not even reviewing the long lines or overly extended wait times or downright lack of quality customer service. This review is based solely to the order my sister and myself ordered. I ordered chicken deluxe sandwich combo and sis ordered nuggets combo. The chicken and nuggets were dry NOT the typical juicy, yummy chicken we got in NC or the mainland. It does not meet the Aloha standard, NO GO. The fries were dry as well. The 11 minute wait was worth it! The staff was so friendly, I even got into conversation with one of the nice gals helping out while waiting. The wait seriously wasn't bad at all, I was expecting to wait 20-30 minutes. The food was so fresh! On top of that, WAFFLE FRIES! Who doesn't love waffle fries? You have to try the chik fil a sauce. I had the day off and decided to check out Chik Fil A at Ala Moana! I don't like lines and to my surprise the line wasn't that long 15 min before opening at 9:45 am. The line was still inside the food court up to where Hagen Dazs is. They started taking orders in line at about 9:55 am and the order system they have is extremely efficient and fast! You order through an employee on a tablet and they process your credit card. As you get closer to the counter, another employee verifies your order. Shortly after, another employee brings your order. The whole process took about 15 minutes after they opened. Fantastic ordering setup! I ordered the deluxe chicken sandwich meal w the waffle fries and unsweetened iced tea. The chicken sandwich was so juicy and good, don't forget to get the chik Fil A sauces! So happy I got to eat here without waiting too long. I'll be back and so happy to have more food options on Oahu. read more

On every mainland trip, I am always so excited to go to Chick-Fil-A. The chicken sandwich, the waffle fries, the lemonade, it is always amazing. This being said, some of the Chick-Fil-A magic somehow got lost for me as the frozen chickens flew from the mainland to our beautiful island. The chicken is a bit smaller than I remember it to be in the mainland. The sandwich itself is pretty good, juicy and crispy, however, it compares to Popeyes and every other chicken sandwich place. Yeah so I went again lol I'm so happy to have this place. As I said I'm originally from mainland so I first had chick fil a over 10 years ago and I've missed it... so sometimes I have to be in a wheelchair or have a cane dude to medical issues and all of the staff was so kind to me. First off there was no ramp near the stairs to get down as the line moved so a Chick-fil-A staff member held my spot as my friend pushed me all the way around. Than another member took our order but talked to me the whole time about when I first had Chick-fil-A and hoped it tasted the same as I remember and I was delighted to already tell her it was my second time. Than at the front of the line another member quickly gave me my food and I said can I have every sauce PLEASEEE. The cute male employee smiled and said you want every sauce ? And I said yes yes and he came back with a full bag and said my pleasure and wished me a good day. I'd rather go here there some restaurants.
