It has exactly been 2 years since we went to the Yelp Community Experience at Drop the Bop. We were so happy to have this small business introduced to us! Since then, we have happily added Drop the Bop to our takeout rotation list. What is so amazing is, both our daughter and myself are not into salads or veggies, and each time we pick Drop the Bop is like a small miracle. There has never been a bowl of fast food made of fresh veggies and meats and rice that tastes so great, and make us feel so good after eating it, but Drop the Bop does it! My husband and daughter picked the All-In bowls from the Yelp experience, and I had the build-a-bowl. Since then, we have been purchasing the All-In bowls every time. All the different ingredients are so fresh and delicious, they contribute to make a complex tapestry of tastes and textures, but all work together harmoniously. We always pick the black rice that has similar texture to sushi rice, that tastes fantastically and holds everything well together. Hubby and Daughter like the carpaccio sauce the best, that is light and not overpowering, while I favor the Yum Yum sauce as it is just yummy! We all like the seaweed soup that is delicious and not too salty. Drop the Bop is a hidden gem in Lincolnshire. Phillip, the young owner, always works so hard and is very resourceful. He teamed up with Yelp to introduce the small business to us Yelpers was a great idea. If you collect AA miles, Drop the Bop also helps you add more miles each time you purchase with your designated credit card. Since we were introduced to Drop the Bop two years ago via a Yelp Community Experience, we have been returning from time to time to get their bowls. Each bowl contains bop (rice) with your choices of veggies and meats similar to Korean bibimbap! What makes DTB stands out from other businesses is that their ingredients are consistently very fresh, the bowls are delicious with generous portions. They offer the most healthy and delicious fast food that our family love! We love their All-In bowls that contain every veggie and meat that you can think of, and we choose black rice instead of white rice as the yummy base. I usually pick the Carpaccio sauce (out of 8 different sauces) on the side, which provides a "fresh citrus taste combined with olive oil and a hint of jalapeño and black pepper" that has a nice kick to the bowl. I always pick the seaweed soup over miso soup as well. Phillip, who is the very friendly owner of DTB, seems to be always working there. I saw him every time I went to pick up our orders. Funny thing was that he gave me a punch card that offered buy 10 bowls get one for free. I have misplaced several of those cards. Phillip said that I could combine several of those cards to get a free bowl once the total slots punched add to 10. It would be OK with me that I never find all my cards to get that offer. I'm starting to obsess about this place, and it's going into our regular rotation of restaurants. Why? A) build your own (or choose a preset combo) bibimbop bowls!! B) that yum yum sauce (teriyaki plus mayo) is addictive! C) the plethora of topping choices, including crispy onions, seaweed, green onion, other fresh veggies. I only wish actual over easy eggs was an option, in true bibimbop form, but they do have scrambled egg pieces. D) super friendly service every time! We feel appreciated every time we come in. This is a great option for healthy, delicious fast-casual food! Everything was fresh, and there was a wide variety of toppings. I got the grilled beef bowl and was able to pack a lot of food into the bowl! As for sauces, I just went with the sesame oil and Spicy k, and it really hit the spot. They also have miso or seaweed soup on the side. I liked the seaweed soup better. Service was prompt, and they even gave us a drink on the house! It's locally owned, and operated, and when you come into the restaurant you almost always see Phillip behind the counter offering service with a smile! The food offerings here are quick service. Think chipotle but Asian flavors with precrafted options to help with all the incredible options. My favorite is the traditional bowl! It is the perfect mix of all the vegetables, the beef and the rice. For the rice you have an option for white rice or black rice. Both are great options! As you go down the line, you have the option of various sauces, some are spicy others are mild for more flavors. At the end, you get a cup of either miso soup or seaweed soup! I wish a branch of Drop the Bop would open right by my house. It's great how eating so healthy can also be eating so flavorful here! This restaurant is like Chipotle meets Sweetgreens with a Korean twist. The interior is nice and casual with Kpop playing in the background and on the TV with most tables seating 4 but some large enough to fit 8. Parking isn't too difficult here as the shopping center isn't typically super busy. Service is quick and friendly and prices are really good for both the quantity and quality of food that you're getting. The food is definitely the star here. There aren't a huge number of bowl options available but they are all carefully tuned to give quite a different experience with each bowl. This is quite important as options like the power house bowl are quite earthy with lots of broccoli, egg, mushrooms, and other umami laden options. On the other hand, the Hawaiian bowl is quite sweet with pineapples, carrots, peppers, corn, and a sweet sauce. I've tried the traditional and ginger salad bowls as well and love that there is so much flavor contrast available. One thing is consistent though, which is that every bowl is delicious that the ingredients are always fresh. Portions are quite generous and you don't need to feel guilty about feasting since each bowl is full of high quality ingredients instead of low quality calorie laden fillers. On a Friday evening, my friend and I stopped here for a quick bite to eat before I went to see a play at the Marriott Theatre. I hadn't heard of the place but when I checked the map to see which restaurants were around the area of the theatre, this one seemed interesting. I am so glad I ate here! As a vegan, I am thrilled when an eating establishment has so many vegan options. There was one person working (I am guessing the owner or a family member) and he was very helpful with how to order. I decided to try the black rice tofu bowl and added a bunch of veggies. The selection of options was perfect, although I wish the tofu had been fried (at least it's healthier the way they serve it). I got a combo of teriyaki and ginger sauces and was thrilled that so many of their sauces are vegan too. A bowl of seaweed or miso soup (both vegan) came with the meal, so I chose the miso soup. My friend has a very limited eating palette and she only had 3 or 4 items in her bowl and didn't want the soup. We were both pleasantly surprised when we went to pay, the person working there said there was no way he'd charge my friend the full price and gave her a much more reasonable price for what she ordered. I was so impressed! Who does that?!? THIS incredible restaurant. We truly appreciated his kindness. The food tasted great - just make sure you mix it well so that the sauce covers everything. The decor in the place was cute and there was plenty of seating for that time of day since most people were taking their food to go. Oh, I also received a frequent dining punch card. Dropped in yesterday and it was sooo yummy! Such a good amount of food, I barely finished it today for dinner I got the gluten free bowl which comes with lots of veggies, your choice of rice, and spicy mayo. They have lots of different sauces you can choose from to add to your bowl too! I took it to go so I didn't get a chance to choose another sauce, but I added some soy sauce to mine and it was perfect afterwards! The workers were very nice and helpful and happy to answer any questions I had, especially about any allergens. I got the apple milkis and it was so refreshing! I ordered two mini bowls for my teenage sons. Mini bowls comes with one protein, two toppings, and 2 sauces. One bowl with white rice, grilled beef, and broccoli, teriyaki sauce on the side. This is for my pickier eater. The other bowl was with half white rice and half black rice, grilled chicken, broccoli and spinach with teriyaki and yum-yum sauce (mayo and teriyaki). The beef is tender, grilled perfectly and so flavorful! It's not dry or cut into small pieces. It all mixed well together with the teriyaki sauce and my picky eater devoured his bowl declaring he was full but wanted to keep eating because it's so tasty! 12 year old picky eater approved! The grilled chicken was diced in generous sizes and not dry at all! Cooked to perfection with lots of flavor that can be eating on it's own, but mixed together with the toppings and the yum-yum sauce made his bowl very delicious! He loved the black rice and said that the texture was different from the white rice in a good way. 14 year old teen boy approved! He wants to go back and try the other bowls! I'm happy to have another good lunch option in the area! My first visit to Drop the Bop was great. The employees were very friendly and helpful, offering suggestions, preparing my order quickly and even offering me a free dessert as I left. Drop the Bop's menu includes specialty bowls, or the option to customize your own bowl. I had the Hawaiian bowl, which featured shrimp, pineapple chunks, rice (I had a choice of black or white rice), lettuce, spinach, onions and a pineapple habanero sauce, which was both sweet and a little spicy. Yum! My bowl also came with a choice of miso or seaweed soup. I chose the miso, and it was perfect. I also tried the mango chill fountain drink, which I enjoyed. I will try strawberry hibiscus next time! The place was pretty quiet when my friend and I arrived just before noon on a Monday, but business was picking up by the time we were finishing up. I love myself some Drop the Bop. The inside is always kept so clean, and I love the Kpop music videos that play on the TV screen. The ordering process is simple. You either pick a signature bowl so you don't have to think about what combination to make, or if you're in the mood for making decisions, you can create your own bowl. My go-to is the traditional bowl with black rice. I usually get yum yum sauce in it too to offset the spicy k sauce, and that has made my bowl more enjoyable. It comes with your choice of miso or seaweed soup. I've had both but I prefer the miso soup. It's so delicious. I have a punch card so I try to visit every so often to fill up my card. By the register you can see how many people have completed their stamp cards and I want to get mine on that wall eventually. It is always friendly service. Greeted when you wall through the door and taken care of with a smile. If you haven't had the honey butter chips do yourself a favor a buy a bag. It doesn't seem right or fair that a simple bowl of rice, veggies, protein, and sauce should be this delicious. And yet, that's exactly what it is. Really, I think it's the sauces that tie it all together. My minimalist 10yo likes the mini bob with white rice, shrimp, cucumbers, and yum yum sauce, and he swears by it. I like a lot of stuff in my bowl, so I get the regular size even though it's HUGE and I couldn't finish all of it: white rice, chicken, grilled onions, yum yum and spicy k sauce (the spice is mild and not overpowering at all), corn, carrots, and spinach. I think that if you ordered a second small bowl of soup, a regular sized bop with soup is enough food to share, which makes for a very thrifty meal. This was my third visit and each time, service was friendly and helpful. They're really invested in making sure the food is something you'll enjoy. I will absolutely be back. I was in that awkward moment where I really needed to eat something and I needed it to be fast but I didn't want "drive thru" food. Then I remembered Drop the Bop was just up the street. I ordered the black rice with beef with spicy mayo sauce and the white rice with chicken with teriyaki sauce. I added all sorts of various veggies. It came out to $14 for the beef and $12 for the chicken. It also comes with a small bowl of soup - miso or seaweed. I was very hungry (I forgot to take a pic! Fail!) and it was so delicious. It looks like a lot of veggies but there's actually great balance of carbs, protein and veggies. I had the beef bowl and it was really good. My dad had the chicken and he liked it as well. So the guy behind the counter was super nice and friendly. I always enjoy some suggestions I thought it would be fun to try some new stuff. Today I chose the black rice. That was a good option it enhanced the flavor I feel. I got the Hawaiian bowl. Shrimp were big the sauce was not to spicy. And the combo of flavor was a perfect combination. I also had seaweed soup. Never had that and I am glad I tried it was so good. As I was having it I was like. I think my son would love This. I will be having him get it next time we go. Or bring it home to him. We recently tried Drop the bop and brought the family out. We ordered the traditional bowl, kimchi bowl, mini bowl, and a side of rice with teriyaki sauce. The food was very tasty and fresh, I loved trying the different sauces. We like spicy food, My hubby loved trying the 911 sauce. I have younger kids and was the fence about buying another bowl that I wasn't sure if my little one would make it through. The server was nice enough to give us a bowl of rice with teriyaki sauce on it. I loved how green and trendy the inside of the restaurant is. The service was great. This is a very cute place to grab a filling meal. We tried two different bowls, the traditional and then the one with the spicy pork. Both were delicious and come with soup. All the different toppings are fresh and add so much flavor to the dish. One bowl fed me and my kids for one meal. We also tried the mandu which was good. This place just opened this month, August 2023. It's super low key but so nice! Very clean inside with helpful staff. Most important, food here is so nice and fresh. Spicy pork is nicely seasoned. I have only tried the Ginger Salad and it's gotten to the point where I actually crave it! It is an enormous portion so I usually have 2 meals. It comes with soup, either miso or seaweed, I really enjoy the seaweed with cubes of tofu and flavorful broth. The gentleman behind the counter is really nice and friendly and makes the most delicious salad full of fresh vegetables and chicken.
