Just as everyone reviewed! Very fresh, great selection, excellent service and healthy fast food! Perfect stop for a quick nutritious bite. We all got bowls and I thought the mini bowl was plenty of food! The only thing I would not get on my bowl again is the bacon bits. These were the old hard crispy imitation bacon bits. Other than that...... it's excellent! We'll be back.

This is a great option for healthy, delicious fast-casual food! Everything was fresh, and there was a wide variety of toppings. I got the grilled beef bowl and was able to pack a lot of food into the bowl! As for sauces, I just went with the sesame oil and Spicy k, and it really hit the spot. They also have miso or seaweed soup on the side. I liked the seaweed soup better. Service was prompt, and they even gave us a drink on the house! I went with the Sikhye (Korean Rice juice- so good and not too sweet). I wish it were closer so I can visit more often!

Drop the bop is a newer restaurant to the north shore, and it is an absolute hidden gem. It's locally owned, and operated, and when you come into the restaurant you almost always see Phillip behind the counter offering service with a smile! The food offerings here are quick service. Think chipotle but Asian flavors with precrafted options to help with all the incredible options. My favorite is the traditional bowl! It is the perfect mix of all the vegetables, the beef and the rice. For the rice you have an option for white rice or black rice. Both are great options! As you go down the line, you have the option of various sauces, some are spicy others are mild for more flavors. At the end, you get a cup of either miso soup or seaweed soup! Be sure to grab a drink and a rice bop you won't regret it. The pear beverage is delish! When you're ready to eat, make sure you shake the bowl to spread the flavors. :)

I wish a branch of Drop the Bop would open right by my house. It's great how eating so healthy can also be eating so flavorful here! This restaurant is like Chipotle meets Sweetgreens with a Korean twist. The interior is nice and casual with Kpop playing in the background and on the TV with most tables seating 4 but some large enough to fit 8. Parking isn't too difficult here as the shopping center isn't typically super busy. Service is quick and friendly and prices are really good for both the quantity and quality of food that you're getting. The food is definitely the star here. There aren't a huge number of bowl options available but they are all carefully tuned to give quite a different experience with each bowl. This is quite important as options like the power house bowl are quite earthy with lots of broccoli, egg, mushrooms, and other umami laden options. On the other hand, the Hawaiian bowl is quite sweet with pineapples, carrots, peppers, corn, and a sweet sauce. I've tried the traditional and ginger salad bowls as well and love that there is so much flavor contrast available. One thing is consistent though, which is that every bowl is delicious that the ingredients are always fresh. Portions are quite generous and you don't need to feel guilty about feasting since each bowl is full of high quality ingredients instead of low quality calorie laden fillers. Overall delicious and I look forward to slowly trying all their options every time I watch a show at the Marriott Theatre!

Been a hot minute since I was last here. But i do love their food. The place wasnt that busy when we got there. Service is great. The place is small but clean. I created my own bowl. Had shrimp and tofu with black rice. Some veggies and i chose Yumyum sauce and their korean spicy sauce. So good! I also mixed their strawberry hibiscus and pear juice. Loves it! Definitely coming back! Happy eating!

On a Friday evening, my friend and I stopped here for a quick bite to eat before I went to see a play at the Marriott Theatre. I hadn't heard of the place but when I checked the map to see which restaurants were around the area of the theatre, this one seemed interesting. I am so glad I ate here! As a vegan, I am thrilled when an eating establishment has so many vegan options. There was one person working (I am guessing the owner or a family member) and he was very helpful with how to order. I decided to try the black rice tofu bowl and added a bunch of veggies. The selection of options was perfect, although I wish the tofu had been fried (at least it's healthier the way they serve it). I got a combo of teriyaki and ginger sauces and was thrilled that so many of their sauces are vegan too. A bowl of seaweed or miso soup (both vegan) came with the meal, so I chose the miso soup. My friend has a very limited eating palette and she only had 3 or 4 items in her bowl and didn't want the soup. We were both pleasantly surprised when we went to pay, the person working there said there was no way he'd charge my friend the full price and gave her a much more reasonable price for what she ordered. I was so impressed! Who does that?!? THIS incredible restaurant. We truly appreciated his kindness. The food tasted great - just make sure you mix it well so that the sauce covers everything. The decor in the place was cute and there was plenty of seating for that time of day since most people were taking their food to go. Oh, I also received a frequent dining punch card. I will definitely be returning to eat here!

Drop the Bop is so yummy and fresh. I pop in here at least once a week. The bowls are easily customizable and the portions are HUGE. The owner goes above and beyond with customer service every time I stop in. This has seriously become my go to place to grab quick takeout on my way home from work.

Drop the Bop offers a delightful dining experience with its bowl featuring black rice and tofu teriyaki sauce. The soup is described as amazing, delivering a flavorful punch. The addition of pineapple sauce adds a sweet and complementary note to the overall dish. The presentation is commendable, with well-displayed sauces enhancing the visual appeal. The restaurant's attention to detail extends to the decor, creating a neat and clean ambiance for patrons. The size of the bowl is satisfying, providing a substantial portion for diners. A noteworthy aspect is the quality of the chopsticks. The choice of good material and careful packaging reflects the restaurant's commitment to a positive dining experience. This attention to detail, from the well-decorated space to the thoughtful packaging, contributes to an overall positive impression of Drop the Bop. Whether you're a fan of the flavors, appreciate a well-presented meal, or value quality of packing materials Drop the Bop seems to cater to a variety of preferences. I loved to go there

Dropped in yesterday and it was sooo yummy! Such a good amount of food, I barely finished it today for dinner I got the gluten free bowl which comes with lots of veggies, your choice of rice, and spicy mayo. They have lots of different sauces you can choose from to add to your bowl too! I took it to go so I didn't get a chance to choose another sauce, but I added some soy sauce to mine and it was perfect afterwards! The workers were very nice and helpful and happy to answer any questions I had, especially about any allergens. I got the apple milkis and it was so refreshing! The dining area is big with lots of seating and the place is decorated so cool and modern. Def would come back in to eat in next time!

I ordered two mini bowls for my teenage sons. Mini bowls comes with one protein, two toppings, and 2 sauces. One bowl with white rice, grilled beef, and broccoli, teriyaki sauce on the side. This is for my pickier eater. The other bowl was with half white rice and half black rice, grilled chicken, broccoli and spinach with teriyaki and yum-yum sauce (mayo and teriyaki). The beef is tender, grilled perfectly and so flavorful! It's not dry or cut into small pieces. It all mixed well together with the teriyaki sauce and my picky eater devoured his bowl declaring he was full but wanted to keep eating because it's so tasty! 12 year old picky eater approved! The grilled chicken was diced in generous sizes and not dry at all! Cooked to perfection with lots of flavor that can be eating on it's own, but mixed together with the toppings and the yum-yum sauce made his bowl very delicious! He loved the black rice and said that the texture was different from the white rice in a good way. 14 year old teen boy approved! He wants to go back and try the other bowls! My Traditional bowl with beef was packed with ingredients and so good as well! I'll definitely be back! Drop the Bop is a great way to eat quick and healthy!

I'm happy to have another good lunch option in the area! My first visit to Drop the Bop was great. The employees were very friendly and helpful, offering suggestions, preparing my order quickly and even offering me a free dessert as I left. Drop the Bop's menu includes specialty bowls, or the option to customize your own bowl. I had the Hawaiian bowl, which featured shrimp, pineapple chunks, rice (I had a choice of black or white rice), lettuce, spinach, onions and a pineapple habanero sauce, which was both sweet and a little spicy. Yum! My bowl also came with a choice of miso or seaweed soup. I chose the miso, and it was perfect. I also tried the mango chill fountain drink, which I enjoyed. I will try strawberry hibiscus next time! The place was pretty quiet when my friend and I arrived just before noon on a Monday, but business was picking up by the time we were finishing up. As we ate, K-Pop videos played on a large screen nearby. I'll definitely return soon to try different bowls and sauces and support this new business.

I love myself some Drop the Bop. The inside is always kept so clean, and I love the Kpop music videos that play on the TV screen. The ordering process is simple. You either pick a signature bowl so you don't have to think about what combination to make, or if you're in the mood for making decisions, you can create your own bowl. My go-to is the traditional bowl with black rice. I usually get yum yum sauce in it too to offset the spicy k sauce, and that has made my bowl more enjoyable. It comes with your choice of miso or seaweed soup. I've had both but I prefer the miso soup. It's so delicious. I have a punch card so I try to visit every so often to fill up my card. By the register you can see how many people have completed their stamp cards and I want to get mine on that wall eventually. It is always friendly service. Greeted when you wall through the door and taken care of with a smile. If you haven't had the honey butter chips do yourself a favor a buy a bag. They are highly addicting and I always get one one I stop in. This is such a great addition to the Lincolnshire area!

I know not what All You Can Eat (AYCE) that is referenced in these reviews. Our group picked a Combo that served 2-3 people. Our Combo was $100 and included miso or seaweed soup, rice, banchan and four kinds of meat: marinated bulgogi, short rib, ribeye and brisket. Delicious Delicious. The banchan was tasty tasty. I especially liked the pickled cucumber and the kimchi. Some of the reviews said they were charged extra for refills on the banchan dishes. We were not. What a feast. The server loaded up our grill with brisket and would leave and come back to flip things or turn things although we were pretty capable of doing it ourselves. They very nicely cut our ribeye into bite-sized pieces with the kitchen shears and also snipped up the short rib. The meat was delicious and the banchan and rice soon filled us up. We used the green leafy lettuce to make ssambap. I also liked the sauce with the sesame oil and salt. The bulgogi was last and we had to dig deep to finish it. What I liked was that nothing stuck to the grill and nothing burned either. I've had kbbq before at other places where it was too hot and the meat was burned. Everything was cooked perfectly. There was another table where flames shot up from the grill but the staff quickly went over to help. The staff was friendly and efficient. The banchan was plentiful and tasty. Arrived at a nearby hotel last night and was curious about the Tomahawk BBQ Steakhouse, and did not…read morerealize it was Korean BBQ until into the parking lot. I was immediately seated in a booth with a grill right in front of the bar with two large video monitors of Korean pop music going with the boys and girls dance vids constantly going. The decorum had the feel of an upscale Asian bistro bar, nicely done. I was a bit disappointed with the meats. A couple of the pieces had gristle and fat that I simply left on the plate. The Kimchi was some of the best I have had...and the garlic chicken wings were fabulous. The key feature of their system is ordering based upon pictures on a tablet. It seems that portions pictured are typically enough for two people to share. There were several dishes I ordered that brought larger quantity than I thought was a single portion...so if you are eating alone, take into consideration that you may end up with more than you might have expected. ONE last note...the Miso Soup was excellent.

My family and I came to celebrate an early Valentine's Day and treated ourselves to a nice dinner. I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time. We booked ours and were promptly seated at 6:30 PM on a Friday night with no wait. Don't you love when things run smoothly like that? We ordered multiple rounds for our family of 4 using the iPad and through the night, I'd say the foods arrived under or around five minutes. There's a 2-hour dining limit, and we used all of it. The iPad conveniently shows a countdown timer once you're seated, so you know exactly how much time you have left. It's especially helpful toward the end when you're deciding whether to squeeze in one last dessert order. I also really appreciate the transparency of their ordering system. The pricing is clearly displayed on the iPad as you select items, so you always know what you're ordering and whether something is included in the AYCE menu. On one of our other visits, I accidentally tapped an item à la carte that was outside of our AYCE menu and saw the charge immediately on the screen. I notified management right away, and they removed it promptly. This kind of system helps prevent surprise charges at the end of the meal. At the end, they print out a detailed receipt of everything you ordered -- it almost feels like a "trophy receipt." It really reinforces how much food you get for the price and how far your money stretches here. Also note that gratuity was not automatically added (for our party of 4) so we were able to write in our tip. There's a wide variety included in the AYCE menu. That said, on this particular visit they had run out of a few items -- calamari rings, hot and sour soup, house salad, and a couple others. It wasn't a huge disappointment, though I was personally looking forward to the hot and sour soup. I did notice they've added some new appetizers like fried chicken wings. They also offer familiar kid-friendly items such as fries, chicken nuggets, and fried dumplings, which is great for families. Overall, the selection is plentiful -- plenty of beef, chicken, and seafood, more than you can realistically eat. Throughout your meal, staff will offer to change the grill (which is definitely needed after a while since it gets dark and charred). They spray some kind of a protective layer on it - my guess is so the meat doesn't stick. There seem to be two types of grills they rotate between -- one for general meats and one better suited for thinner cuts. My personal favorite is the Hawaiian beef bulgogi with pineapple. I also enjoy the spicy calamari and mini sausages. The garlic shrimp was another standout -- large and very flavorful. You really get your money's worth here. This has become one of our go-to spots for family celebrations. My husband especially loves it -- and that says a lot. We've been to many Korean BBQ places, and this is the only one where he's consistently satisfied with the meat quality, marinades, and sauces. He's very particular about flavor profiles, so that's high praise. The table height is also ergonomically comfortable, which really matters when you're cooking and eating for so long. The tables themselves are large and spacious, making it easy to hold the numerous small plates that come with all the different ingredients. We enjoy the ambiance here as it's trendy and well kept. Service is attentive -- staff clear plates promptly, offer grill changes, and are easy to reach when needed. You can also request assistance directly from the iPad which makes things seamless. It was cool to see they still have claw machines in the waiting area, which is a fun bonus for families. On our way out, they also had toothpicks and candy available. Small touches like that are appreciated. This visit was interesting because they had someone walking around offering complimentary printed photos with a Tomahawk-themed template. Additional prints with a frame were available for purchase ($20). Lastly, I wrote in my review a year ago and suggested a loyalty dining program. Since then, we have dined here a few more times but I haven't heard anything yet on this visit. We would still love for them to launch something! :)

About the only bad thing is the prices, especially on food. It's not bad on some things however. Take a look and there will be some good ones. It's about $12 for the cheapest cocktails. Really not bad for the fancy suburbs. Of course we got a few. The best was the Spicy Orange Mule. Probably the most interesting and unique Mule I've ever had. This was Orange vodka, ginger beer, and lime with a kick. Because we're pretty cheap we got the cheapest food on the menu just about. The Maki rolls are about $5 or so. Much better than the $65 Lobster Rolls. We got the Avocado and Cucumber Rolls, and these were probably about as good as those, just saying. Proves you can cheap out here. The rolls were a pretty good amount for the cheap price. Could check this place out some time again. It has cheap and very expensive items. There's something for those on a budget or for those who can spend whatever.

I don't expect to be able to get burgers, tacos, pasta, and sushi at the same place. Additionally, during prime time on a Friday night there were only two other tables occupied. When you see that at a sushi place you start to wonder about freshness. My concerns seemed to be unfounded, but it does get you thinking as to why aren't there more people here.

For appetizers, we ordered takoyaki, shrimp dumplings, and Negi Maki. I never had the neg maki before, but it consists of thinly sliced beef rolled with green onions with homemade teriyaki sauce. Not my thing. The takoyaki had a very doughy middle. Shrimp dumplings were semi warm. Entree, we got the chicken teriaki bento box. The bento box had California rolls, seaweed salad, vegetable and shrimp tempura, and white rice. All of it was OK, although definitely not a fan of the seaweed salad. What was crazy about the place was the beeping of the microwave. A microwave in a restaurant?!? At first I thought it was someone using the cash register, but you cannot mistaken the sound of a microwave door shutting, nor the humming of one. Did they microwave all our food? I dont think so, as our food took some time to come out, but nonetheless, we were all surprised about it BATHROM REVIEW: I didn't go in there, but here's the review from my boys: Floor was disgusting. The door knob was rusty and the finish was rubbed off. The sink and faucet handles were caked with dirt. Urinal and toilet was bad. Ceiling had cracks. Smelled funky. Almost as bad as a Chinatown bathroom. Sit or squat? Squat.

My son isn't a big fan of soups, but he will have 2 servings each time we do carry out. They are always very friendly and it makes it pleasure to continue coming back. We love the waterfall - gives us a nice soothing experience when dining in! My favorite roll is the crab wrapped in cucumber roll! It's served with a vinaigrette dressing - yum!

Wakaba - The Phila Maki. I ended up scooping about half the cream cheese out of each piece bc there was so much in the roll.

Nothing here necessarily stands out, but it consistently gets the job done. I stopped by again recently since we had a work event nearby. My coworker and I originally planned to try Urban Melt, but ended up back at Fuji Thai. We both ordered the lunch special ($13.95) from the kitchen & sushi bar, which comes with miso soup or a green salad, 3 pieces of chef-selected sushi, a California roll, and your choice of entree (pad thai, pad see ew, fried rice, chicken satay, chicken teriyaki with rice, or shrimp + vegetable tempura). You can choose chicken or tofu, with beef and shrimp for an extra charge. We both went with miso soup and pad thai. The restaurant wasn't very busy, and the service was attentive. The staff member helping us was kind. The space itself is cozy, though the bathroom was very warm (almost like a sauna). As for the food, it was solid for the price. The pad thai hit the spot for a casual lunch. The nigiri quality wasn't the best, but also fair for what you're paying, given the variety in the combo. Overall, it's a good value lunch spot. Not somewhere I'd go out of my way for, but definitely reliable if you're in the area and want something quick and reasonably priced.
