There is a reason this place has such low stars for a CFA. The employees are extremely rude and it's a very low standard CFA. If you've ever been to any other CFA this one will blow your mind of how different it is. This isn't just from a one time occurrence of coming here either. I've lived here for 3 1/2 years and nothing has changed. There's been times where employees have used foul language with me and I promise that you will not get everything you asked for the first time around and will have to go up and ask for what they forgot and deal with the eye roll and sigh they give you at the window. I decided to try this new location because my gps said it was closer than my usual spot...never again. 1) service is slow 2)prices are much higher I'm guessing because it's a franchise 3)my food was not hot 4)I had to pay more than quadruple the price for a condiment. Chick-fil-A's are known for their enthusiastic "customer is always right" type of service, with employees going above and beyond other fast-food chains in terms of friendliness and maintaining customer satisfaction. All that to say...this drive-through (also, walk-up) Chick-fil-A location on Maryland Ave NE is the antithesis of the Chick-fil-A mission. Quite simply...the service here is SLOW, incredibly rude, and incompetent. We had errors with our orders and - when I waited in line for about 12 minutes to ask for a correction, the employee got all huffy with me as if I made the errors. Complete with big sigh and eye roll. Ugh. There are a few dining tables outside but I wouldn't call it a nice place to sit and dine al fresco. One employee was taking a break outside with some friends and hurling all sorts of lovely colorful language around...right in front of my small kids. Real nice attention to detail there. Even if we are desperately craving some waffle fries, you couldn't pay me to return to this location. read more

To say that I was excited when I heard this location was coming to my neck of the woods would be an understatement. And yet, I'll never understand the logic that went into the design for this location. Hella traffic congestion during peak eating times. This location has only been here for a little under a year, and I've learned to be very strategic about when I go--or else I'll have to endure super long waits for "fast" food. No bueno. Good: It's the only Chick-Fil-A in DC with a drive-thru window. The servers are occasionally nice. Bad: The service is unbelievably slow. It takes 30+ minutes at the drive-thru and 15+ minutes at the walk up window even when there are only 3 orders in front of you. It's ridiculous! Then, they get the order wrong or serve cold food. What a disaster. The entrance is on G Street, always remember when heading south on 14th to make a left at G Street, otherwise you're screwed. The entrance on Maryland is blocked off because I bet the lot was a tots cluster when it was open. Wow, piss poor design. 7pm on a Saturday was terrible. Must've been 13 cars in line. Only one customer standing at the outdoor window for walk-up so I parked the car in one of the 6-8 parking spots. I was next in line and nobody came to the window for almost five minutes. By then, 5 other customers were waiting to order behind me but because there is no "line" it's a total mess for the person working the window to know who has ordered and needs food and who needs to order still. If you give somebody their food, you need to give them their drink beforehand or at the same time, not 5 minutes later. Tough to get out of the parking lot with the orange barrels in the way. Terrible customer service. I waited 25 minutes for a combo meal. There is no indoor seating so I was outside in the cold. Their computer "malfunctioned" so they lost everyone's order and we had to hand them out receipts to get our food made. There is no solid system to order, so customers were confused on how to order and where to stand. This Chick fil a started out on the best foot ever. Lots of smiling faces in red shirts giving superb customer service. Fast forward to today...the "imported" staff members have all been shipped back to their respective home stores and we are left with a "mess". Walk up is a joke-Lines are long, service is slow (ten minutes to order, ten minutes for food, ten more minutes for the drinks equals easily a THIRTY MINUTE WAIT), the staff is just UNINSPIRED and the famous waffle fries were overcooked. It is at least 5 times faster than the McDonald's down the street that doesn't even have that long of lines. Poorly laid out and thought out. It's at a difficult intersection and tough to enter. The staff are all standing around outside, because there isn't a restaurant inside. Just a walk-up window. The staff all seem annoyed and disinterested and who can blame them with the horrible back up of traffic. Food was fine, though my order was incorrect. It would have taken me more than 40 min to get back through the line so I just rolled with it. All of the Chick-Fil-A's in this area have switched to the ipad ordering method. Im deciding to review again because I'm shocked at the other low responses. I visited at 11:40am right before the lunch hour rush on 10/17/17. I drove to the location but opted not to use the drive thru because two cars were in line waiting already. I will say the lay out of the business is a awkward and doesn't take into account traffic patterns, entrance/exit points. As a result I didn't park in the business designated parking and instead parked across the street. Inconvenient? A little, but this is DC, when is parking EVER convenient?! Two people were at the walk-up window and had already placed their order. Since I was the only person waiting to order I was seen quickly and my food was in my hand in less than 5 minutes. The young lady at the drive thru was professional and attentive. I'm not sure why other reviewers are giving staff such a hard time. Again, this location is different in that it does not have any indoor seating. For those of you that didn't catch that: NO INDOOR SEATING. It's not my preference and I wish they would have incorporated the option but honestly I wouldn't have used it anyways. This is grab and go for me. My order was as requested, nothing missing and nothing extra. I will gladly continue to visit this site and am excited to have a Chick-fil-A in the neighborhood. read more

It takes at least 15 minutes to get your food once you order it and it's cold by the time you get it. There is no way to get out of the drive-through line once you pull into it. I used the drive thru and had ordered, paid, received my food and left after no more than 10-15mins (I came around 7pm so there were others in the drive thru as well). Not sure what all the bad reviews are about, but I've never had any issues here. I believe this used to be an old Checkers at some point so it is a drive thru/walk up window only, but there are tables outside on a nice grassy area. The drive thru gives me a little anxiety as it is very narrow, but well worth it. Service has always been fairly quick and friendly. read more
