Marinated chicken breast w/ two sides - Boneless Breast Chicken
Anya B.

I ordered the marinated chicken meal with two sides. collard greens and yellow rice and black beans. Nice sized portions for the price. First time at chick n bone, the staff was very knowledgeable and gave good customer service upon me walking through the door

This is a nice cafe nestled in a strip mall. Their menu reminds me of Pollo Tropical however this is not a Spanish place. The service was great. They were polite and efficient. FYI: This restaurant plays religious music.

So so so good! Their dishes never disappoint while we we're waiting we decided on chick-n-bones for dinner. The best menu items for me is the steak and cheese and the chicken breast and you have to get a side of the white peppercorn sauce with it because it's absolutely amazing and their chicken is so juicy and tender you're going to eat the whole plate. The steak and cheese has a tender beef with what could be a little bit more cheese but also just so good on the hoagie roll. Definitely left full after this one.

Always have this place delivered from Doordash. Today I finally was in the neighborhood and decided to go pick it up myself. Nice little hole in the wall. Quite small and quaint. But the food speaks volumes. I like their chicken a lot! Their sides are all pretty good and u gotta get the pita bread on the side! 5 stars!

We were looking for a place to eat before our painting eveb and this place is in the same strip mall. There wasn't anyone inside, however the reviews were good so we went in.. We wanted pork and they were out of that, so I ordered a Chicken quarter with two sides. Mac and Cheese and Rice and Beans. The Mac and Cheese was not very good. It lacked flavor and was clumpy, I added salt and that didnt help so it just sat there on my plate. The rice and beans were good, cooked correctly and flavorful. I also liked the Chicken, it was seasoned well and tender. The problem was my breast and wing did not have much meat on it. ( it looked like there was) I take home 1/2 of most almost everything I order at a restaurant, so if it's not enough food for me the dish isn't a value. My sons BBQ Chicken sandwhich was good, his baked beans were not. A spicier sauce to mix in with them might have helped, however they only had one BBQ sauce option. I will probably not eat here again.

We came here with a local flavor coupon and were very happy with our food. Had the "No Name" with blackened chicken. Friendly, helpful staff in deciding what to eat. Will gladly come back to patronize the business again.

I've passed by this place so many times thinking it was just a catering place. I didn't realize it was a restaurant specializing in flame broiled chicken. My hair stylist (Phillip) recommended it when I was contemplating what to get for mom on the way home. He mentioned the "No Name" which consists of yellow rice, black beans, and chopped chicken. He also mentioned that the chicken is chopped up as you wait. That sounded good to me so I stopped by on the way home. I'm so happy I took his advice yet again. As I was about to walk in, I noticed some pictures of the food and the menu posted on the storefront window. It was the chicken that called my name. I walked in and was greeted by a very friendly and helpful man behind the counter. He explained the menu to me, and made some suggestions. I got the 3 piece (all dark) dinner which comes with 2 sides and pita or Cuban bread. I got the chicken & pasta soup and sweet plantains which I knew mom would love. I got the chicken pita sandwich which comes with a side of their parmesan pepper dressing. He immediately started chopping up the chicken and preparing our meal. It was all done quickly and professionally. I was out of there within 15 minutes. Great service! I arrived with my bag of goodies. Mom was super happy to see chicken. It smelled so good. The taste was even better. The dark meat was juicy and the skin was amazingly good. The skin was so tasty and crispy. They must use butter to baste it. It was very reminiscent of the Kenny Rogers chicken chain (back in the day), and very close to a rotisserie chicken that I used to get at Milam's when I lived in Miami. I'm definitely going back to get a whole chicken next time. It was pretty awesome! The plantains were nice and sweet, but a little charred on the outside. It was still very good considering it was overdone. Mom really liked her chicken soup. It had large pieces of chicken and tricolor pasta. She is a fan. The chicken pita was just as good. Not as juicy as the leg and thigh, but it had good flavor and the chicken was plentiful. The parmesan pepper sauce complimented the pita sandwich. The pita was pretty terrific too. I will be back for more chicken. I also want to try their wraps, salads, and the "No Name" one day soon. The family package prices look very reasonable, and they even have a Taco Tuesday special (3 for $6.07).

Chicken Salad to go. SO MUCH CHICKEN! YUM!!

I am a sucker for a good salad (judge me). I work in the Brandon area every now and then so I wanted to try something new, hoping to find a lunch option that was somewhat healthy but still filling. This place was on point. I got a chicken salad (which was a garden salad with their amazing chopped chicken on top) for around $8. The amount of chicken that they put on it is generous. The rest of the salad was so fresh and they provide plenty of dressing on the side. Their ingredients are fresh and everyone who works there is very pleasant. The chicken was so tender and I can't wait to go back and try their other menu options. YUM!!

Chicken tacos and black beans and rice.

I stopped in here for the first time today with my daughter. We had an appointment in this plaza and were looking for a taco Tuesday nearby and this came up in the search. I have driven by this location for years and, unfortunately, never visited. The owners were very friendly. The restaurant was clean. My daughter and I both ordered tacos (only available on Tuesdays), and a side of black beans and rice. The chicken on the tacos was very tasty, and I believe the shells were homemade. Much better than a chain restaurant. Quick, friendly service, and fresh food. I'm looking forward to returning to try some of the other menu items.

This review is not about the food--it is about the treatment I received from a staff member. From the moment I entered the restaurant, the waitress appeared to have an attitude toward me. As an immigrant with a Jamaican accent, I sometimes have to repeat myself, but customer service employees should remain patient and professional when dealing with people from different backgrounds and cultures. During the interaction, I felt disrespected and insulted. The situation escalated to the point where the police were called. The responding officers were respectful, professional, and understanding. I admit that I became upset and responded with inappropriate language after feeling provoked. The restaurant business is about serving the public, and the public consists of people from many different races, cultures, and nationalities. Every customer and delivery driver deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. I believe Kojak Restaurant should invest more in customer service training and emphasize professionalism, respect, and cultural awareness for all employees. No one should feel unwelcome or disrespected when entering a business. I hope management takes concerns like this seriously and works to create a more welcoming environment for everyone.

The sausage was amazing. Unsweetened tea was good, as well as potato salad and beans. Cons: the ribs were very large, tender and had a great smoke flavor but that's it. They were pretty fatty, although still had a decent amount of meat. But there was no real flavor to the meat other than the "smoke". The brisket was tender also but flavorless. I tried both sauces. Both taste very ketchup based with the Hot just being super spicy. I mixed the sausage and brisket together to eat so it would help the brisket. The location is great and in walking distance in Ybor, from the trolly or locals. Little house like place with two tvs on. One playing sports while the other was playing some Jerry Springer style lame drama, and was plenty loud for us to hear. Overall, very disappointed. I've only had beef cheeks one other time, at LeRoy and Lewis in Austin, but I have to give Danny's the edge. They were unbelievably tender, literally melt in your mouth, with incredible flavor. The Wagyu Dino Rib was every bit as impressive. It was absolutely massive with a beautiful bark, the perfect amount of smoke, and so tender it practically fell apart. Of course I couldn't leave without some brisket, and it was just as outstanding as always. I had the chance to chat with Danny, and he and his team are some of the nicest people you'll meet. Their passion for great barbecue is obvious in everything they do. The Brisket Shoppe consistently serves some of the best BBQ I've had anywhere and, in my opinion, it's the best you'll find outside of Texas. I was particularly impressed that the pork was moist and had such great flavor from the mojo brine. I would get both of those meats again. The chocolate chip cookies were scrumptious but I'm looking forward to trying the much-talked-about banana pudding next time. Ordering at the kiosk was easy. Loved all the little rooms for seating. I will definitely return! The drawbacks: the BON BON/roll that comes with the meal...mine was very dark and overcooked and dry and because of that, not at all enjoyable. (Didn't look like the light, delicate ones in all the pictures). The collards were SOO salty and drenched in vinegar, I couldn't eat them. Also, the only dining area that felt properly cooled on this very hot day was the room in the very back.
