Chicken cooked to order and very tasty. Ordered multiple times from this place. Never had a problem with the food or service.

I was in the area visiting a friend, and we decided to try Old Bukhara for lunch. It ended up being…read morea fantastic meal. We ordered a pumpkin samsa, an order of beef manti (5 pieces), and the Samarkand plov. The pumpkin samsa was delicate and flaky, with a filling that struck a nice balance of pumpkin and seasonings. The beef manti were exceptional. The dumpling skin was super thin yet held the flavorful broth and tender meat inside. The Samarkand plov came with a generous amount of meat--a mix of beef, lamb, sausage, and two quail eggs. All of the meat was tender and not fatty. If I had to nitpick, I would say there could have been a bit more rice for balance, but at $23 it's hard to complain considering how much meat they give. The restaurant is pretty small but has a warm, inviting ambiance, decorated heavily with traditional Uzbek metalwork and textiles. For two people half of the food was enough to feel full, and we ate the rest for dinner. Altogether the meal came to a little over $50, a great price for the portions and quality. I'm from Queens and Old Bukhara easily stands alongside the best Uzbek spots in Rego Park and southern Brooklyn.

Woah! Fried chicken done right. Dave's is newer to the neighborhood and I had to find out what they…read morewere all about. Tucked inside a mini plaza, parking is ample and seating is too. As a newbie the staff was patient and made sure they read my order back perfectly. Chicken comes on a single piece of toast which I enjoyed way more than I thought. Sauce is NOT sloppy drenched and had just the right heat for mild. Mac was simple (toddler approved) and the bites were PLUMP. Under the pickles is the pink sauce (must try). Also the shake was the star if the show. Chunky and loaded. You will need a spoon to scoop the bottom. As for the location. Super casual with cool graffiti on the walls. Definitely coming back

Not quite dinner time, so the place was empty. Which was great, because we had questions. The woman, whose name I can't remember, was super helpful and guided us through the billboard/menu. We weren't starving, but we got: DAVE'S #1: 2 Tenders w/Fries DAVE'S BITES Medium Drink We asked for *Medium Spicy* But maybe should have asked for mild. Feeling the tops of our heads heat up and sweat may have been an indication The Tenders were big; like a half breast. Coated with a dry-rub. Surprisingly, the chicken was so moist and juicy. The Bites were more like breaded chunks, with the same juicy-ness as the Tenders. Fries were good, and we refilled our soda cup like 4 times to douse the fire. Despite the heat, there is good underlying flavor. Don't forget to grab some packs of honey. Goes great with the chicken. We left satisfied, but at the end of the day its's just chicken

Wow wow wow! The food!…read more The presentation! The ambiance (gentle lighting, semi formal, but cozy)! The service! I was beyond impressed. The food exceeded my expectations entirely. This place was quiet at 5:30 on a Sat night. At 6pm a party of 4 came in and at 6:30 a party of 2 came in. I don't know how this place was not PACKED because this food is INCREDIBLE! Truly. This gem is hidden away in a plaza right off of the highway. The chef is also the waiter, and likely the owner. You can tell he takes pride is his food and knows exactly what he is doing in the kitchen. Although we don't eat meat, both the lamb and chicken specials sounded delicious and I am sure they are! Do yourself a favor and have an incredible meal here. This guy deserves to have a line out of the door!

I can see why the place was empty on a Monday evening when I arrived. The server who apparently is…read morethe cook as well was pretty slow and not very attentive despite the fact that I was the only one there, likely for the last few hours. Before I left, there was a couple who came in who he badgered loudly when they asked him for suggestions. He's definitely not a people person. He does a better job being in the back of the house as the food was grilled well. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and tried something different that I wouldn't normally gravitate towards. Lamb is not my favorite but I ordered it anyway despite coming in for the salad. I also had the lime and mint drink. Pretty expensive for a small glass and no refills. The food wasn't worth the price and the service was poor. I literally had to go to the back to ask him for extra napkins which he eventually took from an adjacent empty table. Did I mention the place was empty for most the of the time I was there? I also had to get up and go to the back to ask for more water and finally for the check. He was busy washing dishes the last time. Glad I tried something different but next time I do it won't be at cafe 28.
