My friends and I decided to take a trip to the restaurant since it was new (the cashier said they've been open for about 3 months) and associated with Guy Fieri. In regards to my food, the #2 Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ sandwich was a solid 4 out of 5. The cashier also said it was the most popular so I gave it a shot. It was flavorful and the slaw balanced out the texture of the 2 crispy chicken patty's and perfectly cooked buns. I enjoyed the sandwich and it was reasonably priced @ $7.99. The service and ambience however, was a 1. At the moment if you want to try the seasonal sandwich you are forced to order a combo, an additional $5. I did not want fries nor a soda so I had to choose something else, hence the request for a recommendation. We chose to dine in and were told that they were out of ice when we went to the fountain machine get water and soda. The manager was pretty cold in letting us know about the situation, like we were crazy Americans for wanting ice in our beverages. She didn't even turn around to give us eye contact. Later, once we were almost finished with our meal we saw them loading ice into another fountain and asked for it so we could enjoy our beverages cold but then was told that the ice was for drive thru orders. ‍ If it wasn't for the horrible service I would return. read more

We are huge fans of Guy. It started out ironically, but now I think he actually is sort of cool? I dunno. But I know when he opened a restaurant in our old stomping grounds, we had to check it out! And everything that people say about this place... well, it's largely true haha. We had seen the stories of people not getting their food. And sure enough, we were one sandwich short. Which was frustrating to have to go inside to get it. But overall not a huge deal, mistakes happen. Then there's the price. I actually don't think that it's too bad compared to some other spots, but for 3 combos and a couple orders of Mac and cheese, we spent a bit under $50. Which is a lot for what is essentially fast food. I thought the sandwiches were fine. They're not as good as other places, like Houston's, Dave's, even Popeye's IMO. Which makes recommending this spot difficult. Because it isn't bad, per se, it just isn't... super good? It's fine. I dunno. It's like Guy, I guess. I think I like him? But I'm never quite sure. Very friendly customer service at the drive thru and order was double checked and corrected before handing to me. Love the cute little sack that the food comes in. Now the food...grilled tenders were good. Descent amount of flavor and not dry. The fried tender was crispy on outside and nice inside. The crust is like a panko style. The eggrolls were meh. I could've done without them. Very strong pepper flavor and no bacon flavor at all. A nice sauce would've made it better. The star of the meal was the dumplings. I give them 5/5! Finally first time trying this with the family. To be honest, it's OK. I ordered a three-piece spicy chicken tender and it was no spice taste to it at all. The chicken sandwich was kind of bland OK and I asked for a Coke and it taste like root beer. Fries were lightly crunchy probably the best one out of the whole meal to be honest. We came for the grand opening and it was extremely busy. We were in line for an hour and waited for the food for another hour after ordered. The chicken tender was moist, great texture. However the seasoning and sauces are more on the sweet side. Everything was very sweet. We ordered number 2 and 3 sandwiches. The sandwich was massive, however they are both sweet. After being opened for a couple weeks, we had to try this place. The parking lot was full and drivethru was still closed. I assume more parking space would be available if the drivethru was open. The dining area was busy. Got in line and was about the sixth person back. The service was quick so I didn't wait too long. The menu was limited compared to what they have online. For example, they don't have the CG Classic. Also make sure you review your receipt. In our order was the Fried Pickle Chips. It was listed on their menu for $4.99 but was charged $5.99. The chicken tenders and sandwiches were good. They weren't dry. $6.49 for the cheapest chicken sandwich and goes up to $8.49 and above if you want more than a basic chicken sandwich. Nothing really special with their sauces. I was hoping something unique. The fries and pickle chips weren't crispy but we had takeout. Maybe better if you eat them at the restaurant. I asked my wife to pick up some Chicken Guy on her way home and didn't specify what I wanted. So it's not fair for me to be too underwhelmed by the O.G. Combo she brought me. That's the reason for 3 stars, instead of 2.5. The sandwich was not special. Just two of their chicken strips on a decent, fluffy brioche (?) bun with pickles and the smallest excuse for a dollop of sauce I've ever encountered. It was fresh tasting and seemed to be seasoned fairly well, but the breading was very ordinary, and as some others have said, seems more like it's cooked from frozen, rather than freshly prepared. The fries were good, but too heavily seasoned to be "great." I went on the site to look up the price, and I found the quality to be in-step with an $11-$12 price point for the combo, I suppose. My wife's 3 strip meal (same price) seemed like a better value. I wish she would have gotten me any of the other specialty sandwiches, on the menu, as the added ingredients looked a lot better than the sad "O.G." Maybe Chicken Guy deserves another shot... Maybe not. It's not the kind of location or experience that would warrant a special trip. In fact, in the Popeye's/KFC/Caine's (even McD"s) Chicken Sandwich era where we currently find ourselves, there are much better fried chicken sandwiches at this price point... I'm doing this review not to talk down on the place, but so people are aware and hopefully these issues can be improved upon, also these are very minor, but there is a lot. First off, it's a nice area, but it's a terrible area to park and where traffic gets heavy. The place itself looks amazing! I'll give it that, however where drive through wraps around and parking again, it's so chaotic! The cashier I got was friendly, but very new, and you would be able to tell, she got my order and I wasn't done and she tried to repeat it without waiting or asking, "is that all?" At least she was respectful and friendly. Now for the main event, this place is definition of quantity over quality, they give a lot of chicken in the sandwich, but compared to angry chicks in Vallejo not too far, Dave's hot chicken, and other places, this place is flavorless! And the breading is so brittle, I'm not a fan of the texture. I will give it another chance in a couple months when the place is not as new. The fries itself was ok, and you have to pay 50 cents per sauce?? At least give the first one free. Come on Guy Fieri! This place is delicious. I can't understand the low reviews. If you've ever cruised then you're familiar with the Guys Burgers on Carnival. Guys Chicken is just as delicious. The chicken tenders were juicy fresh and crispy all at the same time! The sauces are simple and a good pairing with the chicken style used at this restaurant. This is not the other chicken strip place- don't rate this spot based on that place (also, that place is better in the south) the texture and flavors are good, the sandwiches are good, the shakes were a little thin for my tase; I ordered the Chocolate Mint- not enough chocolate or mint but decent. The french fries were so good I couldn't stop eating them; I dipped them in the Donkey Sauce which is a mustard based mayo sauce with a few spices (could've had a little more seasoning) but the two together were so good! The Sandwich with the buffalo mac and cheese was straight forward and delicious. The fried pickles were perfection-I was so thankful they were salty and aloud the breading to shine together with the pickle. Now for the dumplings!!! Those things were FIRE! I means crispy juicy and beyond delicious. at first site i was skeptica- but OMG! everything made sense and they were So good. The bun is soft sweet and buttery while the chicken is juicy and crunchy all at once. All of it perfectly complemented by a delicious sauce and pickles. It's satisfying every time. Possibly the best chicken tenders I've ever had, and I'm a strong loyalist to the "other" fast food chicken tender place. Grand opening was running as smoothly as it could have considering the amount of people piling in from outside and in the drive through. Quite the wait, but more than worth it. I can only describe the chicken tenders in one way. Absolute. Units. These things are huge! Beyond the jaw dropping size of these things, the flavor was incredible. The seasoning was *chefs kiss* fantastic. The chicken was juicier than a Georgia peach. Savored every single bite. Couldn't finish the 5 piece, a first for me. The sauces were delicious, donkey sauce is out of this world and the Nashville hot honey had a nice heat to it. Fries were fries, nothing crazy. Washed it down with a sweet tea. The cinnamon apple cereal shake was so good it was gone in less than two minutes. Couldn't stop drinking it. Definitely a new regular spot, keep an eye out for the traffic caused by the drive through line. Staff is trying their best and very friendly considering the volume. Cut em some slack.
