Get the lunch combo deal! The portions are huge and it comes with two sides, a pita bread, and a drink. 1/2 chicken comes with maybe 6 huge pieces while 1/4 ribs has 4 or 5 huge pieces. If you're a relatively small eater, share one combo! During lunch hours, it does take a while to get your food because everyone is ordering at the same time. THE GREEN SAUCE! For Thanksgiving this year at my aunt's place in Long Island, my cousins ordered a few dishes from Chicken Lovers. We had two whole trays of chicken, a tub of the green sauce, basmati rice, a bunch of pita bread, and corn. The flavor of the chicken was great, but when I ate it, it was a little cold. Not at all Chicken Lovers' fault, because we ate it an hour after we brought it home, but would've loved to try it hot. Nothing spectacular about the side dishes that came with the chicken, except the green sauce. WOW the green sauce was so good. I ate it with everything: our stuffing, the chicken, our salad. It's slightly spicy, but so delicious. Not too sure what's in it, but if you can, get extra sauce and save it so you can use it for other things. SO GOOD. This place sells good chicken and ribs. It's popular. With a smattering of wings or burgers or chicken fingers, chicken and ribs are pretty much the only thing that they sell. It's not a place that cooks your food to order, mainly, as they're is someone manning the grill at all times and is constantly grilling chicken and ribs. What would you do if your last visits here was like mine? Of my last three visits here, the 1st I had to stay and wait around for 30 minutes for 1/4 chicken & 1/4 ribs around 4pm. Was told it would be a 20 mins wait. The 2nd of the last 3 visits, I had to wait 35 mins in the car outside as it was too hot to stay in there for an order of 1/4 chicken & 1/4 ribs around my lunch break. Was supposed to be a 20 mins wait again. The 3rd visit. Called and place my order. Again, 1/4 chicken & 1/4 ribs. Had to call 3 times to get answered at around 7 pm on a Monday. Waited 30 minutes around the block as it was pouring raining and no parking was available in front. Took forever to get back onto Northern Blvd. Wasn't able to pull into the parking lot. Almost got into a fight with someone to park the vehicle cause they wanted me out of their way. Got soaked in the rain. Waited in line 5 to 10 mins to reach the counter to speak to the one person manning the counter. They couldn't find my order. Was told it would be 10 more minutes wait. Fuhgeddaboudit! Left, to never return again. Don't even think about going here for a lunch break. I don't think management cares too much about their customers' time. The employees needs to be setup with a better system. Again, they don't cook your food to order, pretty much everything is already prepared. So the only reason why I made a yelp review was only because of this place. I placed and order to be picked up over the phone by some nice young lady and she was very helpful. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the nice Indian girl behind the counter. I think her name is shakti..... very very sweet! My order wasn't ready yet because I came a little early and it was empty so I started to talk to her. She is a very sweet girl and very kind. I hope they keep her there because she is always smiling. Great bang for your buck! Portions are very generous. You can get a half chicken, two sides, a pita, and a drink for $10. I ordered the whole rack of ribs and whole chicken family meal that comes with 4 sides. You definitely get a lot of food for the money and it's a great value. The ribs are gigantic but not very tender or flavorful in comparison to others I've had in the past. The chicken however was very good, well seasoned, meaty and delicious. I enjoyed all of the sides as well. We had corn, yams, mac & cheese, and seasoned red potatoes. The potatoes were the only thing that I wished I had substituted for something else. They didn't put many in the container and there was too many green herbs on them. I think I tasted some dill but it was overpoweringly herby yet not very salty. For $40 plus tax we fed five people and still had a small plate or so of leftovers. It's definitely filling. My pita bread was a little burnt. The green sauce is the bomb that's for sure! This store is located in a tiny complex of stores, so unless you get lucky, you might have to park in the neighborhood. And Queens street parking SUCKS, so especially if your driving SUCKS (like mine), come early! Service: The staff here is amazing. They are super friendly and always willing to make changes to your order. Makes you feel like family. I've gotten to the restaurant maybe 30 minutes before close and they encouraged me and the squad to stay however long we'd like to, and they gave us free sides :') Space: Decent amount of seating, couple high top tables and 3 low tops. Never had a problem getting a seat here. Wait Time: Long, cause this place is popping at any time of day. I've usually only been here at night, past 6. Here is the bottom line: ORDER AHEAD OF TIME. Waiting for a rack of ribs can take up to 45 minutes on a busy day. So call in, place your order, and feast when you get there. Also, if you get here too late into the night, they may have run out of food by then. Ordering before 6 is usually a good call. Food: -PORTIONS ARE GINORMOUS. I usually come after my workout, and I get a ¼ rack of ribs with two sides. You'll always get more than you expect. And I eat around 4000 calories a day so trust me I can eat. The portions here are generous and will always get the job done. -Get the green sauce. Apply generously. Throw it in your next protein shake. If your young child falls off their bike and scrapes their knee, apply it to the wound. Honestly, I don't know what else to say. Its magical. Just get it. -Ribs. Ribs. Ribs. The wings aren't really "spicy" in my perspective but they are super yummy. The ribs were awesome! Delicious flavorful and juicy. They have some mysterious "green sauce" The mystery is how come it does not have a name. That green stuff is great! Goes well with the chicken. The chicken had a nice smoked grilled flavor but parts of it were dry. However it was still edible. I did not have any sides, I was merely interested in the protein. Dumbfounded! that I have lived here for 5 years and just recently have found this place!! Texas eat your heart out... It should be called RIB LOVERS, RIB HEAVEN perhaps. Great staff, we had a 20 minute wait and it was worth every minute. If you don't believe me how good the ribs are let, me tell you I have never been to place that just runs out of food. If you like fire grilled chicken that is on the bone, and a little burnt at the edges, this place is for you. The ownership has changed 3 times since I've been coming here. But their homemade tomato sauce (which I love) is still the same. They now added a green sauce (must've gotten the idea from pio pio) that is great too. Glad they are up to date on sauces, but their sides need working. Its a shame because their chicken is so good, but boston market has better sides then this place. They need to learn from boston market and update the weak sides. The best thing they offer is a mac and cheese. Good old american cheese. The roasted potatoes are decent but could be better. And the corn is good, but could be more buttery..(usually its watery). The mashed potatoes are a joke! it doesnt even tastes like real potatoes, more like idaho out of the box. The string beans (with a hint of tomato sauce) are def frozen or come out of a can. And dont even bother with any cold sides... No good! And I dont understand why fries and onion rings (that are on the menu) arent apart of the sides offered. weak. Moved into the neighborhood recently and have been ordering delivery. It's a busy Roti chicken place. Chicken with lots of juice and come with great favors especially with the green sauce made of light mayo, jalapeno, etc. they are not like other roti chicken that sells jerk chicken which are dry and bland. I've been ordering from here since high school and I always come back for more. I usually get the half chicken combo with two small sides of mac n cheese & buttered corn kernels ($9.49). Chicken is grilled to perfection. The meat is seasoned well and slides off the bone easily. Mac n cheese really hits the spot. Butter corn kernels .. You can't mess that up. The order comes with pita bread as well. I love it when they give me pita bread that has slightly burnt edges because it's crispy & has a nice smoked flavor to it. The food here is 5 stars, especially, the chicken and ribs. Their mashed potatoes could be better (they are more of a puree than mashed potatoes), but everything else is great. The employees are friendly, especially the sweet woman that is always there (maybe she's the owner - she's really nice), but the last few times I have gone there, the service has been sub-par. I wait incessantly for food. It's so good, it's worth the wait, normally. The last time I was there, a lady yelled at them because she had waited so long and she stormed out. The time before, they did not give me two of the sides I had ordered. Tonight was the straw that broke the camel's back. I called ahead to order the food to make sure that they had what I wanted. When I got there, I waited for 10 minutes behind TWO people before I even was able to tell them I had called in the order. I had to repeat the order, even though (I feel) it should have been written down. Then, they told me that they were out of mac and cheese. At that point, I told them to cancel my order and I left. Is it really a big deal that I couldn't get mac and cheese? No. It is the thing I like best from their selection of sides, but it's still not a huge deal. The reason I cancelled my order and left was because I had called in the order and driven 15 minutes to get there, and then waited another ten before I could even find out that they didn't have what I had called to order. On top of this, this is the third experience I have had with this place and incessant waiting. This place could be 5 stars again, if they would just organize themselves. They really should have one person taking the order, another person, dishing out sides and prepping orders. They should also consider having people take a number or something, so that we don't have to awkwardly ask everyone, "did you order yet?" TRY THIS PLACE. The food is great.
