had chicken maison about 3 years ago at the PCH location. it was good, but never drove out there, bc i live so close to the chicken dijon in torrance. but when i saw that there was a chicken maison on crenshaw, i got excited, bc it was another place to add to my go-to lunch places during the week. went to cm twice last week, and was surprised at how great the service was. the staff is extremely friendly and attentive to their guests' needs. the first time i went, i was picking up food, so didn't allow for much interaction w/the staff. but i told my coworkers about this place, and they agreed to check it out on thursday. they were all satisfied with their food, but were gushing about how the service was top notch. want to give a shout out to the big guy who stood outside. didn't get his name, but he was a friendly giant. he asked if there was anything he could get us a few times throughout the meal. got us plasticware, garlic sauce, pita breads, napkins, and bussed our trash for us. felt like a full service restaurant. and the best part is that a staff member (who i'm assuming is one of the managers) came out with 5 pieces of baklava for all of us to eat. he said it was bc we were all wearing green for st. patrick's day. their baklava was o-so-good, and that's saying a lot from someone who doesn't like baklava. the food was the same as i remembered it. fresh and good quality ingredients. another plus is that they have a ton of specials. i decided to get the $5 1/4 chicken special. came with rice, salad and pita bread. two days before, i had their chicken maison special salad. basically a caesar salad tossed with their delicious rice. both excellent. my coworkers and i'll be back! read more

I came in during lunch rush hour and the line reached close to the door. However, the line does go by pretty quickly and I was in and out within 10-15 minutes. The food, as always, is delicious. Been here one time so far and I have to say I was not disappointed. Reminiscent of chicken dijon, I left without complaints. Based on the cashier's recommendations, we ended up sharing a chicken maison salad (caesar w/ chicken and rice), 1/4 spicy lemon garlic chicken plate with hummus, and a pesto pasta (sorry but the name escapes me at the moment). Overall, the food came out quickly and service was friendly. We gorged ourselves until I had to roll my boyfriend back into the car and it was wonderful. The chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender and even though in usually not a fan of long grain rice, I found this to be nicely subtley flavored and complimented the rest of the dishes very well. The pasta was decent, i think it will satisfy any craving. I'm a big fan of the salad though! I will definitely be ordering this again and I love that it has enough components to be a fulfilling lunch choice. I'm not so sure why it took me so long to visit a Chicken Maison since one is rather accessible to me in Orange County - however when looking for some place to eat with outdoor seating to accommodate my four legged friend, I jumped at the chance. There is a very really reasonably priced combo for $5.50 which includes rice, salad and chicken. Both my dad and his girlfriend who are fairly picky eaters loved their food as it was pretty healthy, flavorful and satisfying at the same time. I ordered a gyro plate for myself and it did not disappoint. Served with humus, tzatziki sauce, rice and salad, this was a real treat. I was also glad to find that the chicken and gyro meat were not overly salty nor oily which is what I find with a lot of Mediterranean establishments. The rice was also very flavorful and delicious. I wish there were more of these locations as Mediterranean food is actually something that is hard to find readily available in my immediate area. read more

If you're from the South Bay, you know what chicken maison tastes like so I don't want to comment too much on the food but rather the level of service you get here. The girls that work the front desk are ignorant and the level of service they offer should be rated at 0 stars. The managers and owners should really consider retraining them or getting rid of them and investing in some new workers. They're rude, short tempered, and they don't seem to realize that offering service is part of their job. I've visited this location many times and today's experience absolutely blew it for me. I went during an off-time, called my order in ahead of time, got there early and paid for my order and sat right in front of them and they didn't even let me know my order was ready. I had to go to the front and ask if my order was ready after about 25 mins and they hand me the order that's been sitting there the whole time! COME ON. Do I have to tell you how to do your job??? Think for a minute and put two to two together. The manager came over and apologized but that was it. I left pretty pissed and now my food is probably gonna be soggy and cold. read more

First of all, i hate to give 5 stars to any place i go because i hate the crowds getting worse then they already are, but in some cases like this, it's already known that this place is good, so there you go. 5 stars. Normally i'd go to the Chicken Maison on manhattan beach blvd. They give tons, if you ever ordered the chicken fettucini, you know what i mean. But i was on my way home from work and was in the vicinity of the one by El Camino, so i tried this one out. I had previously gone before when they first opened. Had slightly stale hummus, and they weren't very generous in the servings (so used to the one on MB blvd). But pleasantly suprised, the quantity of chicken on the skewer was large and cooked just right, the spicy hummus fresh and packed into my to go plate. Green salad overflowing with a nice amount of chopped tomatoes. I'll be back to try the new garlic spicy pasta. Great place! Oh, everythings good here, chicken/beef skewers, pasta, rotisserie chicken, and great sides.... Healthy family eating. read more

I was really bothered by the poor customer service I received yesterday, The cashier did not even thank us after placing the order and when he walked over our food, we received the exact same treatment. I think the food is amazingly delicious, but I will not be coming back. I dislike bad customer service, especially when it should be among the top priorities for their business. It's so simple, in fact, it doesn't even take that long to thank your customers for their purchase with a smile. Bear in mind, we completely understand if he was having a bad day. I see this place is generally in at four and a half stars. I'd go along with that. I've had the original and garlic chicken and both are quite good. That and some of the sides such as the beans and rice. The reason I give a four star rating is because of the mistake I made in ordering the spicy chicken. That doesn't even deserve a three star. It's nothing but a oily mess hardly fit for human consumption. My sympathies to the chicken who gave its life for this and its family. Same goes for the coleslaw. Covering something in olive oil doesn't necessarily make it good. Just messier. Fortunately, there are a lot better sides on the menu. read more

We have been coming here for over 5 years. The food was always great, pricey, but solid. Over the last 2 years we have noticed a decrease in the expertise of the cooking staff. Food is overcooked and dried out, hummus is definitely NOT spicy, even though being charged more for the spicy version! The taziki? was just sourcream with a little cucumber in it. REALLY? You can't get a hot piece of pita to save your life, it is always cold, hard and unwarmed. And they started giving you 1/2 of a whole pita! AGAIN, REALLY? Give the man a damn pickle! A bad trend I have noticed is that every month we go in the prices have gone up another $1.00. $4.99 for a baked potato!, and you have pay extra for butter or garlic sauce. My husband loves the lamb kabab with the veggie kabab. They usually cook it to deat unless you "threaten" them. The veggie kabab is 1/2 the size it use to be. Come on, its zuchinni and onions! I'm sorry to say that this location's quality and pricing have gone steeply downhill in the last 2 years and have actually priced themselves out of my pay schedule. Maybe if the quality hadn't declined I would look the other way. I might check out the P.C.H. location to see if it is still great. In the meantime, I would love a reply to this review to see if things can be improved, I really hope so. read more

Admittedly, I'm a sucker for rotisserie chicken. I come here almost every week and indulge in the original 1/4 chicken with my selected two sides of rice and potato salad. (The garlic lemon basil and spicy lemon garlic are scrumptious too.) I eat the pita bread with garlic sauce practically for dessert. I once had the chicken salad and was truly surprised by how good and filling it was. The servers are always courteous, even when there is a long line, which is often the case during the lunch hour (it's right across the street from ECC). Still I've never waited more than 6-7 mins after I place my order for it to be ready. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because the 1/4 chicken white meat only has the breast and not the wing. read more

I ordered the spicy chicken legs and the spicy chicken pasta. Both dishes were way too oily. I had to use a napkin to absorb oil out of the dishes. My daughter thought the pasta was sour too. So I woke up today and remembered that my two friends wanted to go hiking. I'm not that fit and in the past they went too ham so I was reluctant. Regardless, I went along and had an okay time. The hike wasn't too bad, not too tiring. However I felt lightheaded because I hadn't eaten anything since the day before around 6pm. So with the hike done, we were driving back to our area to grab some grub but the freeway was backed up with traffic. We were desperately looking for a good place to eat but we couldn't agree on what to eat. My friends are picky to the point that they won't settle for mediocre food. They were determined to eat something fresh and new, which is weird considering neither of them have yelp. So I searched and searched when, just before I was about to give up because I couldn't find anything interesting that we wanted, I happened upon Chicken Maison. One look and I was hooked. I'd never tried Mediterranean food before including my friends and we figured, might as well. We walked in, ordered the Chicken Feast special for 4-6 people. We sat down and when the food came in we immediately started eating. A few moments in all you could hear was three asian young adults raving about pita bread, garlic hummus, and deliciously tender chicken. Completely worth. No complaints. read more
