Chicken n More is a must stop for me every visit to Spokane. The service is always friendly and accommodating, even if you show up minutes from closing time. I love their greens and the chicken is always crispy and juicy. I wish I lived closer so I could try out their daily specials

Best soul food in Spokane still. Made fresh to order so there is a bit of a wait but you won't find better in town. I've always loved the laid back feel. Don't forget to grab a bottle of bbq sauce to take home.

Most iconic and best food in Spokane if not the country if not, the world not the universe... Bob and his staff treat you like family and the food is beyond measure...

You might miss this place as you walk by, but it is a great go to for to go food. I grabbed lunch on the run, and they were quick. The brisket is fantastic! I got the slaw and greens as sides. Both were very good. Beyond the food, though, the man behind the counter taking and delivering my order was excellent at customer service. He was helpful, knowledgeable, pleasant, and encouraged me to come back and try it again. Definitely will!

Great service and always tasty southern food. Cozy little restaraunt. Highly recommend the catfish dinner!

Oh. My. Stars. This place is the real deal! I had the brisket sandwich and my husband had the chicken and rib combo with two sides, collard greens and macaroni salad. The meats are smoked to perfection and the sauce has a slight bit of heat. If you like collards greens they are not to be missed here! Three generations work here and the owner Bob is regionally famous. So authentic.

What a dope random find in downtown. First time in Spokane and I was visiting for work from CA. A co-worker and I just wanted food and randomly found this spot. Turns out, they have been around for 30 years! Ordered some chicken wings, ribs, and catfish. Everything was bomb! Chicken wings were some of the best I've ever had. Catfish reminded me of those I had in New Orleans. So fresh and good. Amazing spot. Great job everyone. Loved it.

Cheap as hell and delicious! The fried chicken is good, but I prefer the brisket or chicken sandwich. All the sides are great too.

How spicy is the fried chicken, compared to something offered from a chain restaurant? I love spicy but my wife has allergy issues with even mild peppers.

There is no spicy chicken, it's all fried chicken

But that was all that was great. It seems that everything is cooked on the highest temperature. We got hushpuppies and whipped honey cornbread for appetizers. The hushpuppies were dense and while they lack flavor - I did enjoy the sauce that came on the side. It was spicy and had a nice flavor. Although it was obvious they do fry the hush puppies and fish in the same oil. The honey corn bread was burned and tasted of burnt oil. It was oily and had a strange taste and was overwhelmingly sweet. (You'll find that burnt is a common theme.) My Cajun burger was good but the buns were burned. The meat was juicy and had a nice flavour. The fries were seasoned well and were crispy while being soft on the inside. The pork ribs were decent. The sauce was nice. They weren't fall of the bone tender, but still tender enough. The coleslaw on the side was very sour and spicy. It was more like spicy sauerkraut rather than coleslaw. The seafood boil was underwhelming small especially for the price. The shrimp were overcooked. The clams were very small. The muscles still had beards. The potatoes and corn were cooked nicely. It needed more salt and sauce. The sweet teas came unsweetened and while it did came with sugar on the side - the grains were too big to actually stir in. And I would like the mentioned that my cup of water had black specks floating around in it. All in all - I wouldn't return.

The fish is perfectly seasoned with a crispy golden crust on the outside while staying flaky and tender inside. Pair it with their sides and sweet tea, and it's one of the most satisfying meals you can get in Spokane. The atmosphere is welcoming, the service is friendly, and you can tell the restaurant genuinely cares about both the food and the community. A deeper dive showed a good possibility of gluten free options, so I made the reservation. I was in town on a Monday, just after Hoopfest, but they were the kind of busy where a reservation should always be made I think. My table was ready and I sat in the bar at a high top table. I think I would choose "in the dining room" next time. My server was friendly and quick, as well as knowledgeable about gluten free options. There is even a separate menu that lays out the dishes that are already gf or could be made to be. Love this, always. I ordered the summer salad to start. It was amazing. Flavorful. Fresh. The mint wasn't overpowering, the watermelon was the perfect ripeness. It was so good. I would try to recreate it but it was done so well, and I know I couldn't hit that dressing in the same way. Get it while you can. For my main, I had ordered the scallops in my brain before I even arrived. The risotto was a little soupy, but the flavor was SO good. The corn came through and it went so well with the scallops. The tomatoes were quite over salted, but as long as I didn't eat them alone, it was alright. The scallops were perfectly cooked and I felt like the portion was appropriately sized for the dish, even though there were only 4. My server really made the experience enjoyable. The atmosphere was busy but the booths looked like they could be cozy. The prices were on the higher end. But for a special occasion, it was worth it. I really wished I'd had room for dessert. I will surely go back the next time I am in town.
