    House Tomato Basil

Finally made it in, on a rainy day to boot! Location: really convenient to downtown shopping, along with that you get difficult parking. Food: I had the tomato basil which was delicious and packed with flavor. Had a slice of the bread which was more like a muffin texture. Not my preference, but I could see how people would enjoy it. Service: normal to below average. Interior: reminds me a bit of a pub Glad I could finally give it a try, won't be running back, but I could definitely see myself stopping in again on a cold day if nearby.

I AM IMPRESSED! I have to say I was so sad when I heard that Soulful Soups was closing their downtown location. I went to their closing in April and was so prepared to never taste my favorite soup again... but then I got the most wonderful notification. Soulful had new owners and a new location (location is the previously One Tree Cider on Madison st). Aaron, one of the two owners was an ABSOLUTE sweetheart. He let us try so many soup flavors and my sister and I had such wonderful conversations with him. The new location offers so much more seating and it's bright. The soup, beer, and bread were just as AMAZING as their other location (the beer bread was caramelized on the bottom and it was drool worthy). That combo costs $15.50 and it is worth it! I did my usual tomato basil mixed with beer cheese and my sister did tomato basil with their Jalapeno popper - which was so delicious I took a few bites! We got soup to go which was the golden garbanzo goddess (vegan, vegetarian, gluten free btw) because this curry based soup was too good to leave behind! Come support the new ownership of soulful soup, Aaron & Kayden!

Really I enjoyed my stop at this place on a Friday afternoon. Perfect for an autumn day! I love that the soup isn't too hot and the flavor of the beer cheese is so incredible. Plus the salad was quite delicious and the bread is something you shouldn't go without. Staff was nice and sodas were delicious. I would definitely go back and try to sample other soups. It's hard to improve on perfection when it comes to beer cheese.soup!

Just moved to the area and wanted some like homemade food. This was the right place to go! Soup was amazing and the salad was just as delicious! House salad and chicken broccoli cheddar is what I ordered. I also tried my husband's pork pazole which was equally tasty. Definitely worth the stop!

It was soup and a salad but it's all in my belly now.

The chicken artichoke soup was divine, the house salad was delicious, the homemade bread was amazing and the huckleberry cider was divine. 100% recommend giving this place a try.

I wish I knew this place existed before last week, I would have tried it sooner. The soup definitely didn't disappoint. I wanted to try all of them, especially the spicy mac. I opted for the chicken broccoli and cheddar. It hit the spot. An equal part of each ingredient. The perfect thickness. And the beer bread? Super fresh and flavorful. I would love to try their others. The staff was great, too. Very helpful and explaining everything to a first timer. Even offering samples. Unfortunately I wont be back in Spokane for the rest of the year. But ill keep my fingers crossed for 2025.

Salmon chowder, house salad and bread

This place is wonderful! It has a warm, welcoming vibe. I was offered soup samples, and my meal was fantastic! I ordered the salmon chowder, house salad and bread. Presentation and flavor were on point! And I love the gender neutral bathrooms. 10 out of 10! Traveling to Spokane from Eugene, OR for work and I will seek this place out when I am back this way again.

This new Location is so great! There is so much more room and plenty of seating. I brought my 4 little girls in to have lunch with me after a day at riverfront. They all ordered the tomato basil soup and I got the pork Pazole and side salad. The Pazole had such a great broth with braised pork chunks. It was perfectly balanced with the right amount of veggies to meat. Sometimes I think Pazole can be a little greasy/fatty but they did a really good job at keeping this lean without losing any flavor. I would definitely order the pazole again. All 4 of my girls ate their entire bowl of tomato soup and kept talking about how good it was. And of course, don't forget the beer bread, this stuff is addicting!!!!! Im so glad the new owners were able to find a new location and not close. For a total bonus, the new owners are so friendly. I cant recommend this lunch spot enough. Definitely go try it if you have not already and, if you loved their old spot, you will love their new spot even more.

I always drive by here and decided to stop by for a quick bite when I was in the area. They have such a unique concept where you can get soups, sandwiches, or salads with your option of draft beer and spirits! You order and pay first, then seat yourself! SERVICE: Great! Quick and very helpful and kind as we were navigated through the menu/favorites. They offer soup samples as well, so you can try all the options before making your final decision! -HOUSE TOMATO BASIL: This was great, maybe a little on the sweeter side. Texture is thicker-reminds me of Panera's Tomato soup. They added fresh parmesan on top! You have the option of adding a side of croissant or beer bread. I chose the CROISSANT and it was good. -CLAM CHOWDER: My husband got this. This was okay, but not my personal preference as I like my clam chowder with a more dense, thick texture. He enjoyed it though. Look forward to coming back for more!

Just opened for the day. Beautiful remodel.

Gorgeous remodel! Warm vibes. Awesome soup. Give the Italian veggie reboot a try. It was magical.

Solid place for soups and it was fairly quick for our lunch restrictions on time. Great spot for a meet up for lunch or with friends.

I don't write a lot of these, so when I do, pay attention!…read more I probably drove by this place 20 times before I actually noticed it. Then, once I noticed it, I didn't go in because I've had mixed experiences with little breweries like this. Eventually, I finally walked through the door, and I'm writing this review to help you not make the same mistake I did . The first thing you notice is how warm and inviting the place is. Wood tables, fun chairs, great music, and plants. So many plants. It feels like an actual neighborhood hangout. Here's the funny part: I can't stand beer. My wife likes it, but my taste buds won't allow it. I'm also a type 2 diabetic, so a lot of the usual brewery food isn't really an option for me. But the first time we came in, I saw things like Caprese Salad, Italian Salad, Smoked Salmon, and other options that actually work for me. And then I discovered they make their own hard seltzers. Game changer! They always have several fun flavors, and they're unsweetened, which is exactly what I'm looking for. You can also get cans to go if you want to bring some home. You can tell the husband and wife owners have put a lot of love into this place. It's comfortable, welcoming, a little quirky, and they've always been incredibly kind. So if you live around here or just driving through, check it out!

I ordered the Fig Sandwich and the Fancy Pants Sando because I could not decide between the two as they both sounded very unique in different ways. I called the place up and arranged to come pick the food up. The person on the phone was very thoughtful in keeping in mind at what time I would arrive so he could arrange for the sandwich to be toasted at the right time. I appreciate small details like that. When I arrived, I noticed there were several tables and a bar where you can essentially get brews and food. I noticed they had several beers on tap which I was very curious about, but unfortunately did not have time to sit down and eat at this establishment. The person at the bar was extremely friendly and made me feel very welcome. The two sandwiches came up to $40ish. I brought the sandwiches home and first tried a few bites of the Fancy Pants Sando. I will have to say it was the better of the two sandwiches. I appreciated the goat cheese in the sandwich and the mix of different ingredients, but it was not something I would consider to be a great sandwich, at least not for me. Others might find it pleasant, but I did not care for it much. The fig sandwich was the one I was more excited about and expected some sweetness to be cut down by the bacon. I don't think it was a perfect balance between the two, and I got a tad much of the overwhelming sweetness of the figs in this sandwich. Again, others might enjoy it, but I didn't care for it. I really wanted to give this place a great review, but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. The beer looks fun though and might be a good reason to give this place a try, and you may enjoy their sandwiches and many people have. For me, that's a no-go.

When we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, and the guy at the bar was genuinely friendly and helpful, which always makes a difference. The food prep was impressively fast, and everything was packaged neatly and thoughtfully for takeout. We started with the pretzel, which was solid, but the real standout was the mustard--super unique with a tangy, spicy, almost wasabi-like kick that made it memorable. For mains, the curry dish hit a great balance--flavorful without being overpowering or too mild. And the biggest endorsement came from my daughter, who ordered the kids pasta with marinara and added chicken--she declared it the "best spaghetti she's ever had!" (Shh... don't tell mom.) Overall, great service, tasty food, and a welcoming vibe. The only reason it's not a full 5 stars is I'd love to explore more of the menu next time--but based on this visit, we'll definitely be back.
