I'm here right now and just finished a delicious jalapeño Holly on croissant with lettuce and tomato. I ordered the special, which also comes with a side, a cookie, and a pickle spear. I ordered the broccoli salad as my side. I like my own recipe for broccoli salad but there's is so much better. It has just enough liquid and allows the broccoli to remain crisp. I may try to replicate their recipe. So... I had a croissant sandwich, a nice sized serving of broccoli salad, a delicious cookie and a pickle spear. Everything was perfect! My son & I went for the first time & were very pleased with everything, including staff. Thanks to reviews we knew we could try a sample or two & did. Loved what we got & had a hard time deciding. Table of 2 women beside us (presumably middle age daughter and senior citizen mother) I happened to over hear saying they'd never be back. I asked them, "sorry to interrupt but did u ask to sample before you bought?" The daughter looked dumbfounded and we talked for at least 15mins about how much my son & I liked it & why they did not. She & her mother said they'd give it one more try. They did get the original recipe, which is what all the other mixes are made from & I don't know why she was complaining about the Mac & cheese, that she could do better from a box... really bcuz I'd like to know that box. First of all the decor is so southern chic it makes you feel a little homey, the girls working the front counter are always so courteous and are really there to help you find a great chicken salad, soup, or sandwich (try em all!) First time going there and I was very impressed. I got the scoop of chicken salad with soup and grape salad. It was very filling and very good. All the chicken salad has been fantastic. Fruit and Grape salad is great. Cookies...ehh...they could be improved. (Cookies are important!) :-) Slightly pricey but worth it. Always clean. Late review, so I hope things have changed since May of 2106. I went in to order a dish and a gift card for my mom for Mother's Day and was virtually ignored while standing at the counter by 3 college aged girls who were chatting about boys and life in general. The food is great without a doubt, but the customer service is not so much. We usually don't have a problem with them but here lately every time we go the staff is rude and when asking to speak to a manager, I was informed that the manager was the one I spoke with over the phone that was so rude to my friend. If you like industrial chicken salad dressed up in a variety of flavors with cute names, this is the place for you. If you like chunky, textured chicken salad with easily identifiable parts and chicken that requires real chewing, you might not be happy at Chicken Salad Chick. It's not that the chicken salad is bad, it isn't bad, it just seems very processed. It almost looks like something from a can, but it tastes better than it looks. The chicken "salad" is more like spread than salad - it has a dry-creamy texture. In fact, Chicken Salad Chick seems proud of using almost no mayonnaise in the chicken salad and, since the chicken is made from very finely shredded white meat with fruit and other moist items added, that works for the salad. Unfortunately, they don't put anything on the bread either. I was asked if I wanted lettuce and tomato on the sandwich and there was nothing else on it except the chicken salad. The sandwich was very dry and a little unpleasant to swallow due to the total lack of moisture on the bread. I asked for the sour dough bread and that was good - the bread was fresh and tasted good. I also ordered the soup of the day, corn and ham, and it was fairly good although it was just warm. The staff was friendly and the service was prompt; however, they were out of several of the selections of chicken salad and side items so choices were limited. The prices are very reasonable (it's inexpensive), but since the food is just ok higher prices would not have been justified. I can't say I would never go back, I would definitely choose it over fast food, but I am not willing to choke down another dry chicken salad sandwich again - even if it means bringing in my own little mayonnaise packages. read more

I invited 6 family friends to join me at this location in COLUMBUS, GA. I had heard if I wanted good chicken salad, this was the place to go. This was not the case today. I ordered sour dough bread (which was stale and almost hard) and a pecan, grape chicken salad. This was dry as a bone and very little flavor. The grapes couldn't even give it the moistness it so needed. I had a pasta side salad which tasted days old and it was almost so cold it was frozen. This too was absolutely tasteless. My sister had some sort of broccoli soup or something that looked like broccoli and she couldn't eat it because it tasted like there was way too much flour in the soup. She's a fantastic southern cook and knows food. My brother said his sandwich was just like the rest of ours. My husband had what I had and we all established this was not the place we would return for lunch. There are too many good places to eat. read more
