I'm a fan. I've actually been waiting quite a while to try Chicken Salad Chick. First, they were supposed to open one downtown at the old Andolini's a couple of years ago. Then that fell through for some reason. Then they ended up opening one in Summerville. But c'mon, when am I ever in Summerville? Never, the answer is never. So finally, when I heard Mt. Pleasant was getting one of our very own, the clouds parted and angels rejoiced. Needless to say, there was a lot of build-up for me. Good thing I wasn't let down. I've had two meals now and I feel confident that I'll be frequenting the place on the regular. So far I've tried three different chicken salads: Classic Carol, Cranberry Kelli and Sassy Scotty. All of them were really good but if I had to pick, the Sassy Scotty was the best. It had ranch dressing, cheddar and bacon. Spoiler alert: if you like bacon, they got choo. Sadly, they were out of two flavors, one being the Kickin Kay Lynne, which is the one I most wanted to try. Also, the sides are really good. The pasta salad is pretty standard but the broccoli salad and grape salad are amazing. Two sides that you would think to be relatively healthy, right? And you would be wrong. Not that I'm complaining. The broccoli salad comes with shredded cheese, some type of dressing and bacon (see what I mean about the bacon?). And the grape salad is basically dessert, topped with some cream sauce, brown sugar and pecans. You also get a cookie with your meal so yeah, dessert overload. But again, I'm not complaining. For about $10 a meal, it's really affordable and the portions are generous. In the end, the long wait was totally worth it. read more

This little spot is amazing! There was a ton of chicken salad combinations to choose from. You also get to have it as a scoop or a sandwich. I had a sandwich. It was delicious! You also get to choose a side from a ton of salad choices or soup. I had the grape salad which is grapes topped with yogurt (I think) and brown sugar. Yum! Staff was friendly and place was clean. I've been twice now, the second time ordering the BarbieQ, which had a nice smoky flavor. The flavors here are mild, but the creaminess of the chicken salad is very nice. Love the variety of chicken salad. I went tonight after looking up closing time. I arrived at 653 pm closing posted on door as 7 and the Yelp page says 8 pm. I could see employees closing drinking fountain and customers still eating at booths but the door was locked and employees did not answer knocking . Hope this issue is resolved. Yelp should change closing time and manager should talk to employees about posted time on door is 7. read more

First, the counter service (a la fast food restaurants) is very cheerful and friendly. The dining area appeared clean and suitably decorated. I had WiFi Service, but not sure of the network. My phone automatically linked. I ordered to go for two. The photo of the turkey club is pretty self explanatory. Toasted bread was soggy and was probably the "white-wheat" variety instead of true, hearty wheat. The sandwich was sloppily prepared. The flavor was ok, but not a classic, thick club sandwich with stacked ingredients. The chicken salad trio was baffling. I ordered the Fancy Nancy, Cranberry Kelli and the Lauryn's Lemon Basil. While the Chicken Salad Chick name indicates that the entire focus of the food is on chicken salad, I expected to fall in love. Nope. Just to ensure I hadn't lost my sense of sense of taste, I had my husband try a blind tasting of each of the three. He couldn't describe a predominant flavor in any of the three (except for a piece of apple). I have been here many times since this location opened and I will visit many more times. I was skeptical about how many ways you could prepare chicken salad, but trust there's more than one way. The service is always friendly and fast. Most importantly in my book the food is affordable and I don't leave hungry. read more

Finally got to Chicken Salad Chick yesterday to pick up some chicken salad (what else?). I had a friend coming over for dinner and decided with it being so hot I would do a light dinner. The restaurant is so clean and everything is so nice. The workers were so polite (which I loved) and helpful. There are about 15 different options for chicken salad to meet the taste of anyone. I did wonder about healthy options as chicken salad can be fattening - but I love it. The only thing that took me back was it is expensive. I ordered a pound to take home and with tax it was $12. The container label said it would feed 3 to 4 people but if you are having it as a meal with veggies and whole wheat crackers it was only enough for 2 people. After I left, I felt like we could have probably went out to eat for what it was costing me to do the light dinner at my house. I will say the chicken salad was Delicious - just the way I like mine. I got the Fancy Nancy and it was yummy. I just thought it was a bit pricey. I will go back to maybe do a lunch meal and get a sandwich but not the pound again. I do recommend it for being a great option for food besides "fast food" which we need more of. It would be great if they had a drive through! read more

I'm a bit of a chicken salad connoisseur and I have to say I was overwhelmed with the multiple flavors. They let me sample and make my decision. Went with the fruity. Delicious, but the ranch was good as well. Will definitely be coming here often. they have combos with cookies, pickle, and a side. Got my chicken salad on a croissant. They have other options as well for those who (I don't know how) don't like chicken salad. I have been searching for a place like this since I moved to Charleston a few years ago. Food is good. Maybe it's because we got here 15 minutes before closing but the cashier made us feel very unwelcome. My son ordered the roast beef sandwich and was barely edible. I guess you had better stick with what they are good at because the chicken salad was good. We got the Sassy Scotty and Olivia's Old South. My luau lydia chicken salad while over all tasty had but 1 Pinapple chunck and no real pop of macadamia to speak of. My side salad was 50% wilted spinach. Just experienced extremely lousy service at this Chicken Salad Chick. The employee at the counter was incredibly uninterested in giving any type of customer service whatsoever. This location was out of almost everything on the menu. We were informed of that only after attempting to order several items. Would have been nice to know up front. My experience here was night and day different from any other Chicken Salad Chick I've been to in the country. I just discovered this place from a co-worker. The whole concept of a place serving chicken salad is just awesome. It is very unique in my opinion. I love and grew up on chicken salad, so I decided to try it out. I don't live in Summerville or Mt. Pleasant, but luckily I work in Mt. P. I decided to check it out and was greeted by a friendly worker who let me sample some of the different chicken salads. I told him I wanted something spicy and he recommended his favorite-- Kickin' Kay Lynne... I ordered it on a croissant roll with a side of pasta salad. It was delicious. It came out to be almost $9 without paying for a drink (I got water). I don't think it's the cheapest lunch meal, but not too much overpriced. I would say that it is pretty standard in the Charleston market. Yes, it is a little more than say a meal at a fast food joint..but it is also healthier and more fresh in my opinion! You get what you pay for! I just discovered they have an app on your smart phone where you can receive points and earn free stuff! with that said.. I will be back! I was impressed. Good sandwich. Lunch came out very quickly! Young lady at the counter was somewhat abrupt and simply didn't know how to smile. One problem: The ice machine was so loud it drowned out the background music and I could barely have a conversation. It was audible throughout entire restaurant.
