The former location in Tyler was a favorite of my parents. Their hot subs were always quality. My mom loved their thinly sliced pickles. The pizza melt? Mmm. After I moved out of Tyler, the location closed. Months later, I was eating at the Lubbock location frequently. There were always coupons in our student book, and they had a decent student deal. I would go there frequently. I am outspoken in my belief that a typical sandwich shop can be either good at cold subs or hot subs. Not both. Potbelly is probably the best chain for hot subs. Living in Hutto, I miss a good hot sub nearby. That absence is no more thanks to Potbelly joining Hutto. This is one of the most hyped new arrivals for me in the city. Their Italian is peak. I have always loved that they serve plenty of Zapp's (the best chip brand) on the side, including an exclusive Hot Pepper chip. Inside, it's decorated in the classic Potbelly style with historic Hutto images and hippos, which is a must for any establishment in Hutto.
