As I've said before, it's always nice to have the best version of a certain food that you've ever had. Right? Being able to easily answer the question "what's your favorite pizza" is great during interviews or parties. And if you want to be able to (correctly) answer "what's your favorite cheesesteak", you should immediately go to Chicks. I usually split a regular cheesesteak and a buffalo chicken cheesesteak with someone, because they're both amazing. The buffalo chicken cheesesteak though, that's where it's at. You like buffalo chicken, sure. You like cheesesteaks, sure! And you even like buffalo chicken cheesesteaks, probably! But guess what. Nothing I've ever tasted comes even close to this. It's perfection. The best cheesesteak ever created, hands down, and if rumors can be believed it's even won Best of Philly awards (despite being in a decidedly non-Philadelphia-having state). Very, very good. My husband really loved the cheesesteak. (I don't eat them cause I am allergic to like everything) Anyway, everyone that was there when we were there were talking and comparing their food and all the people that we spoke to also really loved their sandwiches. My husband said when he goes back next time that he will get it with extra cheese cause he likes his sandwiches really cheesy. Besides my husband's love of super cheese laden sandwiches, (I always order everything with extra cheese for him and he didn't know this until now unfortunately- my fault, I usually do the ordering) he said that this was the BEST CHEESESTEAK he ever had. My favorite food in the whole world. No matter what time I go in there, I know a staff member as well as someone eating there. But don't be afraid if your not a "regular", at a place where it doesn't even feel cool to be a regular anymore (there's so many of us). They remember they're customers on an unbelievable level of friendliness. Everyone is family. Now for the food... -cheesesteaks: I get cheesesteaks everywhere, and to this day I can't seem to find one that I can truly say beats chick's. So good, every time Chicken cheesesteaks: any combination 1) regular 2) with onions 3)buffalo chicken (unreal) 4) barbecue chicken 5) chicken bacon ranch and many more that are really tasty Cold Hoagies: for years, all I got at chicks was a turkey hoagie, it's almost refreshing to eat. Crisp bread, great meats and lettuce, simple but fantastic. I don't really like italian hoagies... Still very good. Yeah, this deli is a little off the beaten path but your GPS will lead you to the promised land. I have had their cheesesteak, Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak, and chicken cheesesteaks, all are good. (the cheesesteak is my favorite). On occasion, the roll has been a little dry (maybe because it was at the end of the day?). Also, sometimes I think the steak-to-roll ratio is a little off, could use a few more bits of steak on the roll. One of these days I will have to try some of the cold cut sandwiches. The staff is always friendly. They have eat-in or take-out. The prices are reasonable. I'll spare you the Philly versus " _______ " arguments as I appreciate both Philly and Jersey variations. Quite simply the best philly cheesesteak I've ever had. Way better than the overhyped places in philly. Good price and portion, the reason they can do this is that they are in an out of the way location that doesn't have extremely high property values to pass on to customers. Very good value for the best cheesesteak ever. Very moist, juicy tender meat full of flavor. Literally a hidden gem that was difficult to find even with a GPS due to being in a strip mall behind a divorce building. $8 for a bacon cheesesteak or mushroom pepper? HELL YEA! My brother in law from boston came for a visit this weekend and to speed up the process wanted to do lunch as soon as they arrived. His order was a cheese steak and not wanting to disappoint i wanted to get the best i could find. After reading reviews in the past i finally decided this was the opportunity to come and try this place. We got 2 cheesesteaks and two hoagies. The bread was fantastic. The meat to bread ratio was what it should be and the toppings were also great. First, I want to say that I was staying in Mt. Laurel to visit and I looked for the highest rated place to get a cheesesteak, and this place was it. We came in at about 11:30 AM on a Thur. and you could tell the place was just getting into a full-on lunch rush. I was able to order right away though. While I waited, I overheard the staff talk to every person that was in there like they were old friends.(maybe they were!) We got two cheesesteaks with provolone only. They were awesome! I was craving a buffalo chicken cheesesteak the other day, and I was pleasantly surprised that Chick's turned out one of the best I've ever had. I watched the cook prepare my enormous portion while he dealt with many other orders on the same griddle. It was fun to see. Chick's is not fancy or pretentious, it just gets the job done. I'm tired of all these other sandwich places trying to make a cheesesteak what it isn't, and I appreciate Chick's for sticking to the original(s). The perfectly cooked chicken was creamy with buffalo sauce and American cheese. The bread it was on was the perfect combination of crunchy and soft enough to soak up the juices. My boyfriend and I shared their homemade apple cake for dessert. It was so fresh, moist and sweet! I cannot wait to go back for more! read more

I brought a skeptical PA surbanite here for the first time, and on his first bite, was "wowed" at the high quality. All the steaks are cooked to order (a real differentiator IMO). Chick's makes some of the best sandwiches I have ever had the joy of experiencing. I have no idea if Chick's has the best cheesesteak in the world, I wouldn't be surprised if it's true! I was so lucky to find this place on my recent work trip. The cheesesteak was amazing. The staff was super friendly.

You order at the counter, seat yourself, they bring the food to you and you pay at the counter after eating. The system works very well with a continuous flow of people, available seating and no delays. Very friendly people. I had a great bacon chicken cheesesteak with ranch dressing. A colleague recommended this place and was not disappointed. It's a hard to find because of the awkward road/street layout around it, but where there's a will... I've been here twice already, yesterday I got the tuna melt. Today, I got the egg and cheese. So good. Nothing beats a nice hot sandwich for lunch. Great bread! Not sure what the deal is in Philly with small subs getting a different bread than large subs but both types were good. Steak and cheese was decent but the grill is too cool to give the steak a nice "crispy" edge... kinda steams the meat rather than fries it like we do in Boston. Italian sub was decent, the thumanns meats they use at many shop in Philadelphia and Jersey is excellent. I however hate having a "stuffed" sub. Cold cut subs need to Be cut all the way through and meats need to be layered. Along with the veggies. Lastly, why do you sell Pastene chopped hot peppers right at the counter, but only have shitty banana peppers for your subs!? That was a shame. read more

Let me say I've had quiet a few cheese steaks over the years but this one def hit the top 3 spot and I can truly say it's a gem of a place. Let's start off with the roll very soft very fresh perfect.. steak was steaming hot off the grill and loaded with flavor.. cheese had a good bite to it and all around the fried onions were a great addition.. Def a place worth visiting and the staff were very friendly.. Will be back to indulge in more of the food on the menu next time around but for now easily a top rated spot on my list..
