Not sure what happend here they used to be pretty good. We were hungry after watching USC Stomp all over UNLV (great game) glad to be coming home and figured we would visit an old favorite. To my surprise even though we ordered ahead the cashier took forever with my order. Additionally the slasa bar was empty, the food was not very good an average rating at best would be generous. Slow service, inadequate preperation (the salsa bar should have been restocked), and ok food. This place is not worth my time dont think ill be back for a while, if ever. read more

I love the grilled shrimp tacos here. I would give this place 5 stars but they need to figure out their ordering system and pick up area. It's confusing and time wasting. People picking up orders have to stand in the same line as people placing orders and today I wasn't sure who I should talk to or where I should go to grab my food and ended up having to wait needlessly for about 10 - 15 minutes while the guy in front of me was waiting to order. We were interrupted by a few people who kept coming and going to get stuff. And every person coming in asks, "Are you in line to order?" REALLY GOOD FOOD!!! We eat here all the time. My 2 star review is solely because they have SHRUNKEN the Hard shell tacos. They were average sized tacos earlier this year as you can clearly see from another yelper Damond's photo from January 2016. By August 2016, they lost a lot of weight! I asked one worker about the change. She said she hasn't noticed anything. She must be Blind. She could have honestly explained it's new for the chain or this particular restaurant. Burrito Ordered a Chili Colorado burrito to go, no beans. $5.73. Enclosed was chunks of meat and rice, nothing else. The best thing about Chili Colorado is the tender meat floating in a flavorful red sauce. My burrito contained NO red sauce, so really all I got was a meat & rice burrito. It lacked the flavor I was looking for and it was DRY. Now, someone out there will be thinking that I should have gotten the burrito "wet". IF it was "wet" it would have been covered in a sauce other than the one it was cooked in, leaving me with a meat & rice burrito covered in an enchilada sauce, which is not what I wanted. I was actually pretty excited to try this place , because a lot of my friends say it's good I went yesterday and it was pure trash. The burrito looked big and tasty , but it lacked flavor and most of all meat I ordered a carne Asada burrito and i feel like I ordered a bean and rice burrito , It's like they sprinkled the most insignificant amount of meat into my burrito , I was actually pretty upset . The beef taquitos were good ( I'd give them four stars) The Horchata was also another giant disappointment , as it was disgusting and the lid for the large was sealed well and it spilled on me I will never go here again . I went on taco Tuesday today and three hard shell tacos. The chicken tasted old and had that refrigerator taste.. The cheese also had a taste that I really didn't like. I was really hungry to and it was just nasty... I had to throw the rest of the food away..Plus my food was just kinda thrown in the container... This was not a good chili verde. Finally came to try the food. Friendly staff. Fast service. Plus only around the corner from my house. How convenient . My grilled shrimp wet burrito was huge. Even though, it was huge it was still light though, since I got it customed made with only shrimp, cabbage, salsa & black beans. I frequent Chile Verde even though the cleanliness at my restaurant of choice is questionable (nobody wears gloves, everything is covered in dust, always flys around, etc.) Why do I go there after all that. It's close by. I've been burnt before when the carne asada was way undercooked. It always takes a long time to get your food. I think I'm done with the place after tonight. It's LA, so there is always a Mexican restaurant to try. I waited in line for 15 minutes because there one group ahead of me and the cashier was serving the other tables their food. I always get a #18 made with hard taco shells. It's never an issue. I've worked across the street from the place for three years and it's never been an issue. The cashier said they were too busy to make hard taco shells for my order. I've been waiting in line and saw all the orders with hard taco shells going out. I told her I'm seeing everyone with hard tacos- how can you be too busy to make them for me? She said that it doesn't come with hard tacos and they only do that when it's not busy. I told her that I get it but EVERYBODY has hard tacos. How were they not busy enough for them? I asked if I could pay extra and she said they couldn't do it. I told her they always do it for me and she wouldn't budge. I told her I would go to another place tonight because I've waited in line and I've seen everyone with hard tacos and now I really want hard tacos. She didn't care. Person behind me ordered ... you guessed it, hard tacos and she didn't say anything to him. I'm not sure if it's because I am a woman or not but I am very bummed out at how the associate handled it. I have been eating here on and off for years. Always a good experience until last week. Ordered shredded beef enchiladas and all was good until I bit down on a metal strip that was part of the plastic bag strap that the meat was shipped in. I have been here a couple times. The first couple times were ok, but this place has tested my patience. Last time I ordered a burrito and wasn't too impressed. I figured I ordered the wrong one because I did have a good burrito a year or so ago, so I went again. I ordered the burrito especial with no cheese. When I got home the burrito looked nice and full. I noticed it was not wrapped very well so I peaked inside. I could only see rice. I opened it up and all the burrito had was a lot of rice, some dry chicken and no beans. The burrito is supposed to come with beans. Very disappointing. El pollo loco is way better than this place. The only reason I went here is because it's close to my house. Had three tacos today they were pretty good the service is here is awesome. The place is clean and very calm I wish they stayed open a little later but they close at 9 p.m. if you order at least two tacos you would get a free drink which i think is a nice perk I will be back to try some other things today I had to ground beef tacos and one shredded beef. The ground beef was better in the burrito then it was in the taco but I will be back to try more things just because of the great service and the welcoming atmosphere. read more

Serviceable Tex-Mex in a new, bright and clean location. This used to be a La Salsa... literally two weeks ago. They slapped on a new coat of paint and the new space looks really inviting. Chile Verde is in the same vein as El Burrito Jr. - tacos, chimichangas, enchiladas, et cetera. This place has a lot of stuff on their menu, which I find odd since the kitchen/prepping area is only about six square feet. I ordered a plate with an enchilada and a taco, with my choice of ground beef, shredded beef or chicken. I chose the shredded beef, and while it didn't taste like some painstaking labor of love, it had decent flavor and juiciness. The refried beans were surprisingly yummy, as were the bright and spicy salsas. I'll be interested to see if anyone who frequented La Salsa reviews this place and says if there is ANY difference in the food. Is the food mindblowing? Nope. Is it particularly original? Guess again. Does it fill some gap in the area? Definitely not. It's serviceable, flavorful Mexican food at fair (not good) prices. Chile Verde is akin to opting for the PBR in lieu of Bud Light - a negligible difference between it's competitors, but it's nice when you want a change of scenery. Tex-Mex is a common craving in the South Bay and, for my money, this location should have no problems sticking around. read more

The salsa selection at the new place is way more limited, they only have two sauces and neither of them is pico de gallo. That being said, the place isn't bad- just no La Salsa. Showed up after work, on the way home, for a take-out. Service was good, and they got my order quickly. The only drawback for me is that I have to make a couple of small detours from my regular route in order to get there, but that's not their fault. I love Chile Verde! Everything on their menu is so delicious. I have yet to order something that I don't like. I do usually order the two hard tacos with rice and beans plate, which for $7.95 even comes with a drink! I have tried their burritos, tortas, nachos, enchiladas, etc and I've never been disappointed. Even their churros are super good! The staff is also very friendly, which always makes coming here so much better. I really don't like dealing with rude people anywhere I go. I don't know what there's not to like about this place!! These folks are nice. I have good memories of the La Salsa that used to be here. I hope they start making a 3-pepper fajita burrito, but most of all I miss habanero salsa. This is probably my favorite mexican restaurant, Taco Tuesday is the best deal, I love tacos! Rossy is always there and she looks like she genuinely enjoys her job, always checks if everything is ok, always friendly and professional, definitely my favorite server. My go-to when I have a hankering for crispy chicken tacos-- delish! The chicken is simmered in mild spices, finely shredded, tender and flavorful. I also like their fast, friendly and polite service. My family has also ordered the enchilada trays for parties which are always a hit with guests. Pricing is VERY reasonable. An everyday lunch for me has run anywhere between $8-$12, depending on the meal -- and it usually satisfies my appetite for the day, so the one meal is often my lunch AND dinner meal. ;) read more

This is by far the the best Chile Verde! There are two other locations closer to my home but they don't even come close to this location. The food is made with love here (best cooks) and the customer service is great! Very friendly, I look forward to seeing the crew here and it's very clean. The other locations need to take notes from this location. I do have to mention my disappointment that they no longer serve the chunky beef burrito it was my favorite! My fav spot for the best fried tacos in town!! Taco Tuesday's are $1.29 for ground beef or chicken but for me it's always the shredded beef. They have a special with 2 tacos, chips and a drink for $4.50. Not a better deal out there. Their rice and beans are very flavorful and I often get a combo plate just to have those. Only bummer is that they have to fill your drink but refills are free and they are usually right there. The tables and chairs need some tlc but it's worth going! Parking can be a pain but I've always been lucky enough to get a spot. read more
