Bartender/waitress was rude at first. Okay, I get it. Bad days happen. She got mad at someone for giving me my second drink with the included promotional stir stick for the specialty monthly drink. The signs don't say you only get it once. It says with drink. But her mood changed and got better so that's cool. I'm rolling with it. I order the queso because it's a new menu item and they've been advertising free queso everywhere and in my emails. That's the whole point I came. I love Chili's and go quite often. Ordered queso. Bill comes (after waiting a while because she forgot about us) and they rang me up for a chips and salsa and then a queso. Said that's how they do it. Um no. Manager had to come twice to fix it. Said he fixed it and it was not. I called him back and he ended up fixing it. It's the fact that I'm all about transparency and that seemed like a way to get someone to pay for extra without noticing. I don't like that one bit. The food was good, though. Still tipped good and went about my way. Don't think I'd come back to this location again.

It's been a while since dining at Chili's. This location is adjacent to the now extinct San Jacinto Mall. We came on a Wednesday night and had no problem getting sat. We were greeted right away at the host stand and got a table, not a booth. I'm not a fan of those, lol. It appears their menu has been revamped, and there are lots of upgrades to existing menu items. I happened to have a gift card from Christmas and a free appetizer coupon with an entree purchase with a ton of stipulations. We went with the nachos with the chicken upgrade. They were coated with beans, cheddar, chicken, and topped with pickled jalapenos along with a garnish of shredded lettuce, sour cream and chopped tomatoes. It was pretty good, but I felt it could have been a little more heartier with ingredients. I went with the Fajita trio, which was aggresively priced at $21.29! By the looks of it, it appeared to be a monster of a plate. Steak, chicken, and shrimp fajitas came out sizzling! The spanish rice and the charro black beans were nice and hot, not to mention I was gifted 4 hot and fresh flour tortillas to attack this platter. It was indeed too much to finish and conceded half way thru it. My wife got a smokehouse combo with jalapeno cheese sausage and nashville hot chicken tenders. And my daughter got the Ancho glazed salmon. Everything was delicious and the service was good. My only complaint is that Chilis puts a 2 day expiration date on any promos sent to you via email. As a result, and it is my fault for not looking closely, I was not able to use the free coupon. I also noticed their little tablets are gone from the tables where you could enter your phone number to get a loyalty visit logged and usually free chips and salsa or a tea/soda. Overall, it was a much better visit than usual.

Ernie and I played the infamous Lunch Roulette game today, and fate landed us at Chili's. I walked in with the bar set low (because, let's be honest, expectations are everything), but let me tell you, my expectations were absolutely obliterated. The food? Solid. The service? NEXT LEVEL. Our server, Austin, turned what could have been an average lunch into a masterclass on how to make guests feel like royalty. Not only was he training a new hire with a precision that would make Gordon Ramsay blush, but he also kept the vibes light with some stellar dad jokes. Having been in the restaurant industry for 30 years, I don't hand out compliments lightly, but Austin's got the kind of skill and charisma that made me want to dust off my management hat and poach him for a team I don't even have anymore. I even had to pull the manager aside to share how impressed I was--because when you witness greatness, you have to shout it from the rooftops. But hey, it's Chili's, and I do love that chicken enchilada soup. So, if you ever find yourself in Baytown, swing by Chili's and ask for Austin. Just prepare to laugh, eat well, and maybe leave thinking, Was that the best server I've ever had at a Chili's? Spoiler: Yes. Yes, it was.

My siblings and I decided to have a quick lunch after leaving an event. Sarah Lynn was very attentive and personable to our party of 6. We didn't have to ask for refills because she was checking our table every 8-10 minutes. The food came out hot and fresh. It was cooked very well and we all enjoyed our dishes. This was definitely one of the best experiences I've had at Chili's.

    Empty but 30 minute wait

Honestly someone needs to come take charge over this Chili's. The hostess is nice however why is it a 30 minute wait to just be seated when half of the restaurant is empty. I've been here before to eat and the service is slow. For being a restaurant off of I-10 I feel bad for the reflection of this restaurant on the franchise.

Worse appetizer ever. This was our first visit here. When you can actually count pickles that is cheap. I think we got a quarter of a small onion. The egg rollsw were fair. But sure we'll go back.

Finally we were seated...I was noticing the hostess did acknowledge another party several times smiling and chatting as we waited for someone to notice we been just sitting there. We are non white and ugh this is Baytown, smh. Finally realized this might be the reason! I must say it's EXPENSIVE for cold/ bad food and Horrible SERVICE. We stood waiting for a table about 6 mins or so while the hostess was passing food to other patrons/ and chatting . Finally she the hostess attended in seating my self and three others. She was not polite looked at us pissed off and seemed agitated. I must add we were the only ones in line and it was not crowded. OK , so We were finally seated. It took 20 mins or so before our order was taken. We waited for 45 minutes for our food to be given, and it was cold, not even warm! I asked the hostess also waitresses helper , for an item, yes the one who seated us ... she rolled her eyes and sighed. Clear agitation/frustrated. I told our actual waitress that not only was the hostess not hospitable (RUDE) but our food was cold after the long wait they were supposed to be cooking it. It didn't arrive hot. She said we can reheat the food and the hostess is just overwhelmed. How do you take that out on the patrons... I am paying for my services, my food... and myself and my party are the ones who suffer the wrath.. So At this time as we'd been waiting a VERY long time...we ate the cold food...and accepted the fact we were just give the worst service. For $85 for crappie food and very poor service it is what it is. Just won't ever dine here again.

The servers and all of the people working at this location are great. The parking lot looked full, but inside there were plenty of tables. I have always liked the old time charm and decor of the Cracker Barrel restaurants. Just not the food. I ordered eggs over medium, and they were easy - whites were not quite cooked all the way. I did not care for the bacon at all. Not sure where they get the bacon, but I just did not like the flavor. It was cooked ok. The biscuits were great! I ordered the cinnamon apples because I did not want the cheesy hash brown casserole they server. Some people might like this, but I just like plain old hash browns. But the server brought out the hash brown casserole instead, I let her know I ordered the apples and she quickly brought out a dish of the cinnamon apples and I just left the hash browns on the plate and did not eat them. I would say the best part of the meal was the biscuits. They were fresh and hot. But I won't visit Cracker Barrel mainly because I don't like the food. If you like Cracker Barrel food this establishment is a good one to visit, the service is good and the place is clean.

We asked for a high chair on 4 different occasions with 4 different people all ignored me and didnt follow up with status, took approximately 30 minutes to receive after asking for manager to express my concerns. Unprofessional and inconsiderate. Requested to sit for a party of ten but instead we were sat in a part of "five times two", where our party couldn't sit together and enjoy mothers day , but instead had to not speak to each other because of the distance, or stare at each others backs since of the seating arrangements we didn't request. Parents and children couldn't sit together cause of arrangement, it was pretty much a S Show. Additionally, waiter took approximately 20 mins to come to take our initial order, and all the wait staff were milling around in clusters talking in groups while we were waiting to be seen. African American lady next to me claimed she waited 20+ minutes to be seen by the waiter. Finally waiter came and randomly asked "are you being attended to", basically telling us nobody has been assigned to your table. To sum up the rest of the experience, Ticket time was below average (slow), took approximately 30 mins, ordered waters with lemon on the side, lemons came in the waters. Smh. When i asked for a manager at the podium/wait area to avoid not make a scene at the table to help with our seating arrangements, manager came to table and basically implied that i am complaining (in front of the whole table and other guests/ embarrassing) and "sorta-kinda" said we cant sit together because wheelchair reasons eventhough another party of 10 was well accommodated before our visit and after our visit. This whole thing caused a huge scene in which could of been avoided if they sat us down appropriately to our request of a party of 10 and provided us a high chair upon our first request; or better yet simply acknowledge you can't accommodate us before dissapointing us after the fact. Poor systems, management, customer service, and situational awareness. Its hard enough as a person of color to give cracker barrel a try for the first time, i will never ever go again, didnt feel welcome nor appreciated for bringing a $250+ ticket there for poor service and average food.
