My husband and I ordered Chilis to Go from here twice within the past month or so as we have quite a bit of $ in gift cards. Last time, I ordered the steak from the "healthy options" menu. Although I requested it Medium - it was most definitely RARE - and as I didn't cut into it until I got it home, it was too late to do anything. Most recently, we ordered chips and salsa with our meals, and they forgot to pack the salsa. Again, we were home already, and I wasn't about to go back just for salsa. Not a huge deal (the rest of the food was good), but still an inconvenience. May switch to the next closest Chili's location as we haven't had issues there. read more

This was by far the worst experiences I had at chilis. My family and I decided to go to a new Chilis closer to our house. Upon arrival, the woman seating us was doing a very sloppy job. Plus, there were people there who finished eating but still stayed to watch a football game! Most of the things they served were out of stock. In fact, when we ordered the California flatbread that comes with avocado, a waitress (who wasn't ours) rudely placed it on the table and walked off. Prior to that she slammed the martini cup on the table. The flatbread did not have avocado on it and when we inquired about it to the waitress she apologized and informed us AFTER that there was not anymore avocados. She offered free guacamole, but when she carried it to us her hand was on the guacamole! Then the second she brought guacamole, she did the same thing, but she spoke to other customers in front of us for five minutes before handing it to us! When we told her she said "my hand didn't touch it." That was very unsanitary. I would never recommend that anyone go there. Great bartenders. Love to sit at the bar but it is constantly sticky. Nothing to do with the cleanliness, the management needs to refinish the bar. Napkins stick to it, glasses stick to it and it's sticky to the touch. Again, the bartenders clean it constantly but the bar top is perpetually sticky. read more

So many things wrong. This has been one of my most unpleasant dinners in a very very long time. Usually Chilis isnt as bad but this restaurant in Rutherford was absolutely the WORST i have ever been too. First off the only reason we went to this specific Chilis was because we were looking for happy hour specials, on the website it said 7pm and 9pm till close. We were a bit confused on what the website was telling us so we decided to call. The woman on the phone confirmed to us that happy hour was from 7-9pm and so we decided to head over there. We got seated in the first 5 minutes of us getting there. We literally sat there for at least 25 minutes with noone to come to greet us, offer us drinks, or even hand us a menu! I finally had enough and got up from table to go talk to the hostess. I let her know that since she sat us down we hadn't even been ask for our drink order and I wanted to switch to a different table where we were actually going to be served. The manager comes to apologize to us an let us know he will personally take care of us, he sat us down and asked for our drink order. We asked about the happy hour and he told us there was NO HAPPY HOUR AND THAT WHOEVER SPOKE ON THE PHONE WITH US HAD PROBABLY BEEN MISTAKEN. We had waited sooooo long that I didn't even care so I immediately asked him to bring us 3 margaritas. We waited another 15 minutes for our waiter to come and hand us menus and AGAIN ask us for what kind of drinks we wanted, we informed him we had already ordered 3 margaritas with the manager. We ended up ordering 2 different apps, the build your own which was the ONLY THING i was satisfied with, and the loaded nachos which are my favorite. The food came a lot later with the drinks. BUT NO PLATES!! We asked our waiter can you please bring us plates so we can eat the nachos and he NEVER came back. By the time the manager saw that we hadn't even touched the nachos because we had no plates to eat them on he immediately brought us plates(30 mins in), but by that time the nachos WERE COLD! I took a bite from the nachos and not only were they cold but they were bleeding on the plate, and the meat was sticky and full of NERVES! It had looked like they grabbed all the left over meat they had and made the nachos with that. I had enough and took a picture of the disgusting meat they had served me. Oh and those margaritas they brought us all tasted like SOAP! IT WAS SO DISAPPOINTING! I wanted to write this review AT Chili's but unfortunately I must write this in the privacy of my home....from my bathroom. I don't think I'll ever pass by this side of route 17 again without the violent stomach ache I suffer when I'm here. I order the cheesy fries which should be a pancake since you can't pull a fry individually from it. I love how everything here is seasoned with the same season salt. The fries. The burgers. The ice cream. The soda. The napkins. Everything has that same freakin seasoning. And idk what the hell is in the food that gives me ulcers when I snack here. I try to like this place I do...but I can't. Did I mention how dark it is? I feel like I'm at Hollister when I eat here. And god knows you cant see what you're buying in Hollister. Well Chili's is no different. I ran out of battery trying to use it as a flashlight to see my menu...while charging it and it died. And the best part? I didn't know this was a Chinese buffet. Barely got my food and the waitress had the bill on the table. "No rush." Wth you mean no rush?! I should've taken it as a sign from god to not eat there. Never again. Unless you need motivation to use a bathroom come here. No, go to white castle. It hurts less. read more

I have been to this location a couple times hoping it would have improved but no. 20+ minutes to get our drinks (waters) and the waiter forgot our appetizer. I've been here a couple times in the past couple months and I would say this place is okay if you have a couple of hours to spare and like mediocre food. I feel like you usually have to wait for a table and the service is pretty slow once you do get a table. Most of the waiters/waitresses look young and are very inexperienced. The food itself is okay, but it's nothing to write home about. Our main reason for coming here is probably because of the molten cake which is probably the best thing on the menu. Food was good but service is horrible. We waited about 10-15 minutes to be seated and the place was EMPTY. Chili's employees were nowhere to be found. Actually, on my way to the restroom I've found two -sitting and hanging out in a booth. They were there for half an hour or more. Our waitress confessed it was her 2nd day on the job, which is fine of course, but do your job. She promised everything and forgot it all. Like handing out the menus once we were seated, plates, drinks, no special stuff just what we need for/with our meal. She asked a couple of times if all was okay but after I said yes, she ran away, kind of. If I asked her a question I could never ask another one because again, she ran away. Weird! Then she disappeared in the back and took a long time to come out. She was attending 3 booths on her own so it wasn't a lot to cater to (and all 3 happened to be one next to the other). I went to this Chili's location regularly until a few months ago. My last experience was so bad that I will never return. We were completely ignored by the waitstaff for at least 15 minutes after we were seated. The kitchen area was in view from where I was sitting, and I could see servers on their cell phones, fixing their makeup, etc. Once we were finally able to place an order, our chips took another 25 minutes to come out. After having sat for 40 minutes before getting an appetizer, we were starving, so we dug in. To my horror, I realized that there was a deep- fried roach on the bottom of the chips basket. When I showed to roach to the manager, he didn't seem surprised. His exact words were, "Oh, yeah. That's a roach." We walked out before the rest of the food came out. That's the only time I've had to do that. Chili's corporate was very nice when I contacted them, and I was sent something for my troubles. We waited almost 45 minutes for appetizers which only came after complaining to the waitress who blamed the food runners and bitched about having to get the food herself. I frequent this Chili's because it's in a great spot and the wait is usually not long. The place is very clean, and you are seated quickly. I ordered from the 2 for 20.00 menu, the food came out at a reasonable pace. The waitstaff is not the quickest, but they are not the slowest either. I have always had attentive, friendly waiters, and they are pretty consistent on their food. Usually, when I go to other Chilis in the area I am given chips, but this one does not give them to you unless you order them. Overall, the food is good, comes out fast and hot, the waiters that I have dealt with were always personable and helpful. They added some extras to their 2 for 20 menu like cheddar bacon smother steak, and a loaded one. Try this place out, just avoid it when the Jets or Giants are playing in town because a lot of fans eat there before the game and it can get packed! read more

I ordered the California Chicken Flat bread. The chicken did not taste like chicken and there was no flavoring. My friend ordered the combination fajita (shrimp,beef and chicken). My boyfriend and I decided to place an order-to-go online and pick it up. We requested to pick it up at 8:59. When I got there I was ignored by the first waiter but I figured he was busy assisting someone else. While I waited another waiter placed a bag (which I assumed was mine) on the counter. After waiting another five minutes a waitress asked me if I was being helped. She looked in the bag and told me she would go check on my order. Ten minutes go by and I'm still waiting. I had a strong feeling that the bag on the counter was mine, but what could I do??? I walked around to the bar and see the waitress who was "checking on my order" chit chatting with another waitress. Furious I asked another waiter about my order and guess what....it was sitting there the entire time! I get home and the food was cold. What a waste. This was the fastest Chilis in history. Maybe too fast. My frozen margarita came within minutes but my dining partners was delivered five minutes later. Not sure why they were not delivered together. The food came out quick It was good. We ordered fajitias but the onions were over cooked (inedible). Overall, I would give the food 4/5. Service 4/5. Honestly being honest at first i liked this chilis alot . It was enjoyable and the food was good, and my friends liked coming here. But we just encountered the absolute worst visit in history. Our meal was going pretty well, but when the check came it got all sorts of messed up. We asked for separate checks because we dont play the game of sharing money and we all had bills of 20+ so we had to get change (our checks were only around 10 dollars or less.) One of us did not get the receipts back, and were accused of having "extra" money when he had made a mistake. One of us actually got extra money ($1) but one had 5 dollars less than they were supposed to . We were blamed for cheating him out of his money when we were unfairly accused and taken from. He also "rounded" the reciepts when we asked for change... we got NO coins. When we were leaving the waiter said to one of my friends, that we shouldnt just come in and split the checks? We were basically blamed for telling the truth. Im not going to shade him by putting the name, and i do feel bad as we only gave a $3 tip. however this made the entire visit unenjoyable and we will most likely not going back as it was my friends birthday as well. read more

I was there in January 2015 me and my husband are regulars there. We both got extremely bad food poisoning off your ranch quesadillas. My stomach hasn't been the same since. I called and complained to your manager I believe is name was mike not sure. I was very nice about it due to the fact I am a manager in a restrauant. He took my information down and sent me 30.00 in coupons I was insulted due to the fact me and my husband were so sick from your food. Stay Away. Our experience here was so bad it was almost laughable. We looked for hidden camera's because it was just that bizarre. The hostess seated us. Our waiter came up a few minutes later and introduced himself and told us if we needed anything and he wasn't around we could ask the hostess (weird). Then there was the computer thing that we still don't know what we were supposed to do with it... they never explained it and we are not from an area that has this technology. The waiter was friendly enough. He upgraded us from fries to some mac and cheese side dish. He then offered to bring the kids food out ahead of time so it could cool... okay we thought... good suggestion. So we thought it odd when our food came before the kids. He brought it out and said "I told them to put the kids in first" then shrugged it off and walked away. My husband bit into the mac and cheese... ICE COLD. We called the waiter over and told him. He offered to get us a new one. Then comes back with the same dish, steaming hot and liquid about 30 seconds later. When asked if it was microwaved, he shrugged and said "yeah.. that's what we do", then took the bowl away and brought back french fries (weird), with no further conversation. My husband bit into his chicken sandwich and I knew we had another issue. The bread was rock hard stale. He pulled the top layer off and it was flaking in chunks inside. Pretty bad. We called the waiter over. He didn't look surprised, just offered to get my husband another dish. When my husband refused to try to eat anything else, the waiter said "I'll just go get the manager for you" and turned around and left. After 20 minutes, he came back saying the manager was not available and that he will just take the food off the bill, brought us the bill and never came back.
