Why do I keep coming to this location??? I usually come during happy hour which if the bar is full of people and the restaurant is COMPLETELY empty, they will not give you happy hour prices in the restaurant... bartenders are great, servers are hit and miss and often flummoxed. I used to be both a server and a bartender, so I am speaking with from experience, I understand what the job entails. Chili's "to go" is probably the way for me at this point, but sometimes people just want a recognizable & familiar menu, I get that! I wish Kapolei had a nice big sports bar. Came to celebrate my oldest's bday. Food wise it was ok. Food came out hot. Didn't have to wait too long for them. Kids were happy with their meals. I love the chicken enchilada soup at Chilis. I ordered the spicy shrimp tacos as my entree. That was good too. My problem with Chilis has always been the service. This night was no different. Service is hit or miss. This night was a huge miss that makes me not want to go back. When we entered we were greeted by two hosts. Not sure why there were two of them talking right at the entrance. We were seated promptly. Wasn't busy this night. Drinks and food came in a timely manner and things were fine up until we were waiting for our bill. It took over 15 mins for the waitress to bring us our bill then another 20 to retrieve it to ring up the credit card. After getting the confirmation receipt I realized she had made an error in calculations. For some reason my balance should have been less than $5 after using the two gift cards I had. I went through the receipt to discover she didn't zero out one of the gift cards. After waiting another 20 mins of wondering where our server went we just gave up and signed the thing and left. All the while we were waiting I noted that I could ever only see one wait staff manning the floor at any given time. I'm not sure where they all went. Thy seemed to go into the black hole of a kitchen and disappear for chunks of time. The two at the door were still talking to each other the entire time. My son wanted his drink refilled which he had asked our waitress who said she would after she dropped off the dishes she was carrying, but never came back to do so. So I directed him to go ask the chatter boxes by the door since we were seated near them. This is where I became increasingly annoyed. The female standing by the door had no qualms with displaying her disgust at being asked to fill a drink. I'm sorry sweetie, Did I interrupt your life altering conversation with the guy that you're clearly flirting with for you to do your job? She stormed off to fill the drink with her I'm too special to be filling drinks attitude. Her response to my son when he asked her nicely was, "I guess" with a bonus eye roll and scoff. Even an 8 year old could detect the unnecessary animosity. Really? If you don't like your job, quit. Don't project your dissatisfaction at your patrons. Plenty of people out there looking for job that will gladly take your high and mighty place and be better at it. read more

Love this chili's. Definitely my go to. To go is speedy, it does get packed so the wait time for in restaurant dining can be long. But they're reasonable. Sometimes there is live music. There definitely was when I last dined there with my family. The waitresses are so friendly and outgoing. Unfortunately, I do not remember my latest waitresses' name. But she was soooo good!!! The only thing is that sometimes they run out of popular menu items like some of the desserts. But they replenish on their supplies within an hour or so. read more

They have this new computerized waiter thingy at the Chili's in Kapolei ... It's terrible. Basically you order from a real person. That's cool. Then you think, hey I want another beverage, well... You order from this thing and then after a specific time frame, undisclosed to patron, you get prompted to close out. Seriously, I thought, Ok, I will close out even though I wanted more drinks. So I pay my bill with no one ever physically coming back to visit; and I leave without uttering a word or hearing a "Thanks for coming!" Hmmm. Talk about no customer service!! Time and time again Chili's never "does it" for me, yet somehow I end up coming back again. I had wanted to eat at Sushi Bay, but we were informed that everyone had just seated and the wait would be about half an hour. We ended up going across the lot to Chili's where we were seated right away. Our server was prompt in getting our water and my husband's Blue Moon and put in our appetizer order. We took a few minutes to browse the menu and HOLY HIGH PRICES, BATMAN. I haven't been here since the beginning of last football season (GO PACKERS!), but I don't remember everything being priced so high. The one thing that did look good was their new California Club flatbread pizza. Nothing else was really appealing to us so we just ordered the steak fajitas, which we had previously had and knew were alright. Tick...tock...tick...tock...tick...tock It took over half an hour for our food to arrive. By then our Triple Dipper appetizer was long gone and the Blue Moon and our daughter's container of snacks were dwindling. The server however remained attentive enough until our food finally arrived. The fajitas were "meh"; definitely not worth the $17.49 to me, but we were satisfied enough with the flatbread. We asked our server for a box and the check and she returned with it quickly. Glanced over the check while she went to run my card and saw that the Blue Moon was $9.99 and not $7.99 as she had told us. -___- Whatever. We were already running late. Food was average, service was decent, and I would have given them three stars, but if I'm paying $30 per person for mediocre food, the service had better be beyond stellar. Hopefully next time I'll take my own advice and stay away. At least Buffalo Wild Wings Pearl City is open now, so no more settling for watching football at the bar here either. read more

I'm gonna have to give this place 2 stars because of service and lack of knowledge of yelp rewards. I've been to numerous Chilis and they have pretty ok food and pretty ok wide range of alcohol selection. We came in and wanted to just drink margaritas, we sat down and I checked in on yelp and got a free yelp reward for checking in, which was a free queso dip and chips. I also asked our waiter Robert I how does this work, he then replied that this offer works and proceeded to input our orders. After our waiter realized we were just here for drinks he stopped coming by our table and began to be less attentive to us. The drinks were on point but service wasn't good at all. He then said that our free queso chips was not free and we HAVE to buy an entree to get the dip for free. But the yelp offer says it's free and I just redeemed it when I checked in. I have to say back on the mainland I was NOT a huge fan of Chili's. Every time I went to one, I always left disappointed. Chili's out here though seems to be a popular thing, and I just couldn't understand why. This weekend my hubby suggested we give it a try out here and I am glad we did. It was much better out here and I didn't leave disappointed. A bit pricey for the two burgers we got, but it was good and well worth the price. Parking was a bit of a pain, but not the restaurants fault. It was a Friday night and quite busy, but we only had to wait 10 mins for a table, which was also nice. Our waiter was very kind, and even though it was very busy was always on top of helping us and refilling our waters. All around - excellent experience, when I was expecting a terrible one. Classic place to come. Love how they gave us free queso and chips for checking in, that's my jam. The wait was not bad, about 20mins to get in. I thought it was cool how they offered a bean bag game to help pass the time. The place itself is huge so they have plenty of different areas to sit in and they can accommodate bigger parties which is great. Must be a big birthday hit as we heard happy birthday sang three times during our meal. The menu is huge! It's awesome because there are plenty of options but it can also be a bit overwhelming. The prices are pretty decent too which is always great. They have little iPad type things that kids can play games on which I guess can be pretty cool, but, if you don't know about it and your kid gets into it they can rack up a bill super fast with out the parent knowing as it automatically gets added to the bill. There should be some kind of math question or something that the kid needs to do that's hard to unlock it or to verify they get permission from the parent to avoid an issue I think. Thankfully we caught our nephew after he just started one game and our waitress was super great about understanding then taking it off. All and all it was a great time and we will probably be back again for big birthday or dinner. read more

Haven't been to Chilis until we were invited to a birthday party for family at Chilis. It was Friday night and expected it to be busy but the fact was wait was long when we did have table reservations. We ended up hanging at the bar until we had our table ready. Weren't we thirsty and still hungry. In addition, the food was small and quality was not good, not up to par with its price. During my meal, it got me thinking about places like big city diners and Tony Roma's. I wanted my steak medium, it tasted like it was well done. Not moist and juicy. The baby back ribs meat tasted dry. Presentation looked nice though but it needs to taste good too. One of my cousin said her faijtas meat tasted salty.. Nice technology where you can buy on the touch screen and even play games while you eat. Food quality needs to improve for its price. read more

Went here with a HUGE party from work to watch the football game on a Thursday afternoon/evening, and I was SO pleasantly surprised by the service. Although we had 1 waitress among maybe 30 people, she handled it so well and was on top of everything, and we didn't even have to ask for refills. The tableside guac was good, and my favorite Chili's entree, the Monterrey chicken, was no longer on the menu but they made it for me anyway! The restaurant itself is newer with updated features and a clean bathroom. Probably my favorite Chili's on the island after this experience. I am a fan! read more

Great service we had a group of 7 and they got us seated down immediately even after there was another large group that just came in before us and got our drinks out promptly and never had to wait for A refill they refilled drinks before I finished it. A few members of my family came to Chili's to watch a Lakers game. What a terrible mistake. My family frequented this joint when it first opened in Kapolei a decade ago. It used to be a favorite-now it's extremely horrible...an abomination of a restaurant, if you will. The service was terribly slow--we didn't have any waiters/waitresses approach our table for 30 minutes. We only saw one extremely pregnant person serving an entire half of the restaurant and we heard her pleading the hostess for help twice. The food is nothing special. Of course, that's a positive change to a few years ago when my family boycotted this restaurant due to obviously old food being served. Don't bend to the temptation of coming here b/c of the close location and great visibilty -- you will be sorely disappointed. McDonald's would even be a better choice. read more

Super disappointed, I understand that sometimes the time frame they give you can change depending on how busy they are; so I usually allow myself 30 min just in case....anyhow I ordered and was told 15min. Because I only had an hour lunch, I ordered something I thought was simple Wings & fries....I ended up waiting 50min for my food...I was so pissed at myself for not canceling the order right away but apparently I was waiting on my fries....which I never got because I'd probably had to wait a whole hour for them lmao...the waiter was so nice tho....but the kitchen staff gotta do better. Waikiki Chili's was good but this one is better. We arrived here and were seated within 5 minutes, they're real efficient at busing their tables quickly getting new guests seated. Our waitress Channel was outstanding. She was friendly and brought out our drinks right away. She was quick and always kept our drinks full! She never strayed away for long, she checked job with us frequently and never seemed annoyed by our questions or requests. Great job, give this girl a raise. Kids food came out pretty fast after ordering which is good for little starving kiddos. Ours took another 20 minutes to come out. Nothing special was ordered, sandwich and nachos, so they should have taken that long. This is the reason for the star deduction. The food on the other hand was super ONO. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and even though this is a cookie cutter restaurant you can see the whole crew takes their jobs seriously! We will certainly be returning. read more

Great service, good selection, and tasty drinks. The location is super easy to get to and there's ample parking. I only have a problem with their steak quality. I've ordered the filet twice now and both times I ask for med rare and got well done. Very disappointed. Everything else came out fine. We had patronized this restaurant on Saturday (2/16) and received excellent service and great tasting food. Three adults and five children......handful. Our waitress handled the multiple targeted questions and distracting children's discussion with patience, ease, and smiles. God bless her because I would have left. Anyway, we ordered and the food was served in a timely manner. I was surprised how quick we got the food, since it was extremely busy. We will definitely return and request this waitress. The food at Chili's is definitely yummy, but the service, and timeliness of getting your food can totally vary. It's a hit or miss with this restaurant. The alcoholic drinks are great, they are not stingy with the alcohol in the mixed drinks- they shouldn't be because I think the Coronita is around $15! I am only giving this first visit cause our bartender was a good guy. He qas super stressed out. Laie the manager on duty with a infinity tattoo and totas tattoo on her black with blonde hair/dark roots was horrible. She yelled "wheres my passionate paradise" then looked disgusted when the bartender said he didn't have the ingredients. Not to mention being in the industry a manager is suppose to support their team and helps whoever may be falling. He was struggling (bartender) because of pressure from manager and team members yelling at him not to mention his bar rail was full! Laie also didnt know jack daniel whiskey is from from tennesse. A server asked if they had tennesse whiskey. She said no. He came back asking honey tennesse whiskey. Which I AS THE CUSTOMER HAD TO ANSWER FOR HER. They do have jack daniels. All and all she sucked. Chili's is Chili's. Same menu. Same atmosphere. Nothing special. You go for your regular faves and a cold beer (or diet coke, in my case). This location is truly hit or miss. We have had great experiences here and equally rotten ones. The main factor that changes is service. Food is consistent as is wait (usually less than 10 minutes, if any at all). We have had terrific servers and not so great ones either. My last server was not attentive. Pet peeve: bringing out apps and main courses at the same time. You guessed it...she did it. The male manager is pretty good for nothing too (as a manager anyway). We had an issue awhile ago and brought it to his attention. He basically responded with an "I'm so sorry but tough luck for you." I get confused because this Chili's previously participated in the 2 for $20 promotion and is not participating in the current one. I understand that we live in Hawaii but it does get old paying for this luxury with exorbitant prices because large corporations feel they can overcharge. Yes, I understand that you have to ship your food in or pay higher prices on island to buy. I would even understand raising the price by a couple of bucks 2 for $22 or even 2 for $25 but NOT totally not honoring the special. Lame. It's Chilis. It's the same everywhere. I wouldn't have come, but my daughter loves Southwest egg rolls. So we found ourselves here yesterday on a mother/daughter lunch date. We got there right after 11, were seated immediately, and had our drinks within a couple of minutes. Our server was nice, the food (egg rolls and nachos) came quickly, my cup was never empty. You don't go to Chilis to be blown away, or like me, you don't ever go there unless someone else wants to. The experience was just-fine, though. read more

Let me just start off by saying, I love Chili's and I usually come to this specific location often. But last night, our service was horrible. I'd rate it one star, if wasn't for the Host John up front who had taken the initiative to help my friends and I out. Upon arrival, the three of us were greeted and offered to sit outside immediately or we wait patiently for a table inside- we opted for an outside table. Long story short, it took 20 minutes for us to get water- because our waiter was too busy talking story. He kept bypassing our table. The host John had been the one to check in on us & when he apologized and brought us water & even took our orders. Fast forward to about fifteen minutes later , our waiter Micheal decided it was time for him to introduce himself and proceed to claim that we now had his "attention." Then he went on ahead and began telling us our orders - which was wrong. Luckily, John was the one that had put it in. Micheal didn't come back after our food was brought to us by John the HOST. When we were finally done, Micheal finally came back and observed that we needed water and by that time, we were already annoyed. Having been there a little over an hour and a half and he only came to check in on us 3 times. He began to make sarcastic remarks and my friend had politely asked him to leave and bring out checks. INSTEAD, he began harassing her on why he needed to leave and what was wrong with her face. Obviously, we were all on edge because of the horrible service we had received from him so for him to pick at her polite request was completely uncalled for. He could've quietly apologized ( HE NEVER DID ONCE) and brought us our checks. Eventually, we left and the manager had apologized. Once again, I'd like to THANK JOHN & ALEX FOR TAKING CARE OF US. Worst service I ever had here. We only saw our server 3 times until we got our food (basically all appetizers). The tables across from us got more service from her than we did. 3 tables were seated after us AND left a good 10 minutes before we even got our check. My husband got the wrong food and it took 30 minutes to get all our appetizers that shouldn't take more than 10 minutes. My daughter's pizza came out before my husband's coffee. ... Really! ?!?! I fricken told the manager she wasn't getting a fricken tip! And then she drops the check (on the opposite end of the table) and says "my manager took off half the check." I wanted to say something but kept my mouth shut. The only positive thing I have to say is that we didn't wait for a table as long as the hostess had estimated. read more

Walked in the door about 5 pm and had no wait. The hostesses at the door were super sweet with smiles on their faces. Ordered the steak fajitas with a side of skillet potatoes ..very moist and cooked just right. The chips and salsa were good aswell. Not to salty or spicey and my kids loved them. The atmosphere was not to loud, and the music was at a minimum to still be heard but not over bearing. Our server was Shyla, was amazing. She made sure we were taking care of but not to bother us constantly. She spoke to my kids like little adults and took their order as they were the ones ordering. There is a pokemon gym here for those looking for dood with a little pokemon fun, but no pokestop. For the kids a kios for their enjoyment to play games or watch a video. 7/3/08: After touring Ka Makalei at Hoakelai with a couple coworkers, we were desperately hungry needing to eat a very late lunch (arriving at 2:15pm, could have hit happy hour starting at 2:30pm). Not too many dining options out in suburban Kapolei, I pulled into this shopping center and had a choice between here McDonald's or a local dive. Anyways, we were all disappointed as expected, nothing tasted great and was quite greasy. They told me later that we should have head to either Kapolei or Waikele Golf course to eat at their restaurants... No plans ever to return, traffic also really sucks in this shopping center... read more

Tonight was a horrible experience. I should've known when we walked in and they tried to sit us on the bar side when the dining side was more than half empty. Once seated our orders were taken fairly quickly but when we got our food almost everything we asked for was wrong and it wasn't busy. Extra charges on our bill with no communication from the waitress. I had to ask for napkins and a to go box, no service or checkups during our meal. The 2 stars is because the food is ok.
