1 star is TOO high of a rating for this particular Chili's. I was thinking along the lines of one-half of a star. When this location opened up it was actually a great place to go. My wife and I enjoyed it a lot. THEN it happened. It just fell apart. Associates just stand around talking to one another all too often for one. Then one evening my wife and I went to sit at the bar and we were treated rudely. The waitress who 'served' us acted as though we were a burden and hardly ever came back to our table to check on us and fill our drinks or chips and so needless to say we left pretty upset. Hey, that's only one bad time right? WRONG. The next time the two of us were seated near a table of about 10. Not some business people, just a family birthday and about 4 of the 10 were children. First of all, we waited and waited for our 'waiter' to come get our drink order and chips. THEN, we waited to place our order. THEN, we waited and waited for our 'waiter' to fill our drinks (meanwhile, the table of 10 must have been visited 12 times all by different associates of Chili's going to and from their table while ignoring our table every time). THEN, we waited for our tab and during that long wait I never once saw my 'waiter' again. We were so angry about this that when the bill finally came (though contemplations of leaving without paying arose since it seemed as though no one cared) we left the cash and absolutely NO TIP. It doesn't seem that the story ends here..... My wife and I just won't go back at all, but my in-laws have visited it since our issues and said they have had the same crappy service, so it would seem that they have given up eating there. If this wasn't a chain restaurant and still had this service it would have gone out of business a year ago. read more

We go to this Chili's pretty often and due to COVID expect our wait and dining time to be a little longer than usual, but tonight we sat down and watched other tables that were seated after us get their same appetizer that we ordered before we did.... i also witnessed them order after us as well. Once our appetizer and food made it to our table, might i add that they came back to back with only a couple minutes between them, the texas cheese fries had cheese on them that were rock hard as if it had been sitting for a while and our cajun chicken and shrimp pasta was super dry and we had to ask for extra sauce. Then i was so fed up with our experience so i asked to talk to a manager and he had said he would comp our entire meal right off the bat so i was like okay cool whatever.... i took my 3 month old to the car because he was fussy while my fiancé waited at the table to pay or figure out the bill situation..... come to find out once i left the manager didn't comp anything and my fiancé paid full price for EVERYTHING! COVID or not this is shitty customer service and we will not be back! This Chili's sucks. We stood at the entrance for about 6 minutes before someone loligagged over to us. We waited another 10 minutes for drinks. We got the food, and I ordered the buffallo wings with bbq sauce instead of the wing sauce, gross...what I got was wings covered in buffalo sauce, covered in bbq sauce. We never got drink refills....and hardly saw any of the servers helping anyone else out either. Last review was a year and a half ago. Place has not improved. I guess they just don't care. I ordered the chicken enchiladas again with no salsa/cilantro. Came with cilantro. I told the girl packing it up to go. All she said was 'sorry that happened' as she continued to pack it in the bag. No offer to fix or remake. Chicken strips still look nasty. Poor service. Chili's is a chain, and I always feel a little weird about reviewing chains on Yelp. I mean, the point of a chain is to be consistent, right? Well, this Chili's was actually not that consistent. We eat frequently in the Chili's in Fremont, CA, which is very good. The Lodi Chili's, in contrast, was not nearly as good. I had a Cobb Salad - which was great. But my wife had the pasta with chicken, and my nephew had the chicken fajitas. Both were sub-par. The service was OK - usual Chili's service. Not terrible, not fantastic. Chilis is always a good idea. I eat here all the time and I almost have the menu memorized. I love the bacon big mouth burger and chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes. For appetizer's you can't go wrong with the boneless buffalo wings or sante fe spring rolls. I don't think I've ever tried the dessert but thats because I'm usually stuffed by the time I finish my food. read more

Following an almost one year hiatus, I decided to give Chili's another opportunity.....wrong. Our take out bag of chips was unremarkable and, worse, the salsa was thin and tasteless. It is no wonder that this restaurant is heavily advertised on television....usually a signal that top management has failed to recognize that solid quality food is the source problem. The worst service I have ever had. We were still chewing our food in the middle of our meal and three different people came up and asked if they could clear our plates for us. And each time we responded "still eating". Couldn't keep the ice tea in the glasses even after asking for a refill multiple times. It doesn't matter what time I come here; noon, late afternoon, evening the service is always slow. They recently started doing a buddy system where you can ask your server or their "buddy" for drink refills, napkins etc. I guess they are trying to improve service but when your server or their buddy doesn't stop by your table, then what is the point. Sometimes you get dumb questions too. Last time I ordered chicken fajitas. The server brought out the chicken, cheese, guacamole, etc. Then the server asked me if I would like some tortillas. The greeting and seating was great. The waitress was friendly but very slow. The service overall was very slow. I ordered the Bottomless salad and soup. The black bean soup was tasty but barely warm. The salad was OK. It was a salad. Relatively fresh lettuce and tomatoes. My husband ordered the same thing but the Enchilada soup and he said his was hot. My first and last time eating at Chilli's... I should of believed all the other 1 star reviews about how bad Chili's food and service is. Rather than write 1,000 words describing how bad the service and food was, I highly recommend that you read all the other 1 Star post and then if your foolish enough "as I was" to eat there, come back here and post a review. I can see why this place has terrible reviews. Another one is coming. I brought my wife here hoping for a nice date night, but no. When we were seated, we waited almost an hour for our food. Then the waitress said she was checking on it. She said it twice and never came back. Then she said that she was going to get is more water 3 times and another guy brought it out instead. They seated 6 people next to us after waiting an hour still for our food and they got their appetizers and their drinks in less than 10 minutes. They didn't even get my food right. I tried joining wait list online and it said 20 minutes but then said something went wrong and would not let me join. I called the restaurant and asked to be added to waitlist and was told they could not do that. I asked about the wait and she said an hour. The Santa Fe Chicken salad had brown, slime wet salad, no avacado, tortilla strips, or pico. Just brown edged lettuce with chicken. The boneless Buffalo wings were dry and plain with a side of BBQ sauce and ranch on the side (nothing Buffalo there). They forgot the fries. Salsa if you can, that was pretty much red water and the cheese fries were rubbery and toppings on them were a pinch of jalapeños and cheese in the center. Chicken chile soup- not so good: chicken hard, too much cilantro, rice undercooked. House salad pretty blah: iceberg lettuce, small-dice tomatoes & cukes, croutons. Fries over- seasoned. Dry rub ribs and mushroom Swiss burger are my only 2 recommendations. (beside dessert) read more

I was so disappointed with the Chili's in Lodi ... we went to go to dinner to try to enjoy one night of no cooking. Well I think everyone in town had the same idea last night but that is not my point. My point is Chili's had 1 waiter and 1 buser for the whole restaurant. We waited patiently for our food which during this time it is expected to be patient and kind. Well the food came out and it was horrible no flavor and just not up to Chili's standards. I asked for Tabasco's and the buser who was hiding most the time brought it to me and when I went to sprinkle some in it had no stopper so the whole bottle poured onto my food. Ugh! Then as we waited we watched the 1 great waitress handle about 20 tables by herself. I soon asked her to speak to the manager. She as busy as she was came shortly later to tell us he could not speak to us. I then began to tell her ... it is nothing against you but you obviously need help and if he was a true manager he would roll up his sleeves and help you. As we spoke to her the manager came out and I informed him I was disappointed in Chili's that they would treat an employee like this. I proceeded to tell him the waitress is doing an amazing job but her buser gets lost ALOT and she is running in circles around her when she does come out.I asked him why he was not helping her. He stated he was cooking and they were short staffed. I then asked him why he did not look sweaty or exhausted like the waitress if he too was busy. He went on to say if he would have known he would have helped her. Umm if you look it doesn't take long to notice, I then just informed him that this was not how to treat people. He stated I paid your bill so don't worry. I said well we leave here still hungry as the food was ruined but most importantly you are mistreating a good employee! We have dined here often over the last 8 years. Seems we've watched this place slowly go downhill. The two stars given are for the waitress only and definitely not the food. We were here on a Monday early evening so it was rather quiet and not busy at all. We were seated quickly and ordered our appetizers and drinks, which were good. Then came the dinners. I have never had a burger with so little flavor. We order burgers here occasionally and they have always been delicious. This time though- yuck. No flavor and the meat was mushy. The bacon (which was undercooked) was so thin you could see through it. The bacon here used to be thick and flavorful. What happened??? We also had chicken crispers which were dry and hard. The chicken pasta was bland and mushy also. The ribs were pretty much the only good thing we had. Very dissapointing to see one of our favorite restaurants getting so bad. read more

Not impressed. Of the 5 cheeseburgers I've ordered in the last 2 months, only 1 was cooked properly. Ordered medium rare, or what in their vague vocabulary is one of either; "pink", "no pink", and "well done" - where "pink" apparently also means "well done", and got severely overcooked meat. I'm not sure why people are being so critical of Lodi's Chili's. I've frequented the Lodi Chili's fairly regularly for three plus years; lunch, dinner, weekdays, weekends. My experience here is always positive. I've found the food to be good and comes out quick and hot, service is good, atmosphere relaxing, prices right for the category, always clean, friendly management. Not sure I could ask for more...they deliver as a casual dining joint. Not sure where Scott H ate but not at the Lodi Chili's because there's no Chevy's in Lodi; never has been. The best experience is in the bar area. Lots of friendly non-rowdy regulars, friendly staff who remember you, a good view of the flat screens from anywhere in the room, great Happy Hour specials, free chips and salsa. I usually eat some kind of burger or sandwich. My favorite is the Shiner Bock BBQ Burger; it never disappoints. My only wish is they had wi-fi (and electrical outlets) and I wish they did a little better on their menu in the low sodium arena. read more

Oh boy.............Went here in July 2018. It was clean and staff members were friendly but service dropped off pretty quick. For example we got appetizers for three but had no utensils or plates. Our server acknowledged it but didn't correct it. We waited an appropriate amount of time then just ate it. We ordered salads and they were gross. The lettuce was soggy and the meat products (chicken / shrimp) didn't taste right. The shrimp were rubbery and the chicken had a weird texture and taste. We didn't complain just ate what we could and got out of there. I don't need some knuckle head in the back spitting in my food. Also, when the bill came there was only a 20% tip option. Lovely....... Tried to have dinner here tonight. We were a party of 10, 6 kids and 4 adults. Originally we were told the wait was 20 minutes, after we waited we were told that it would be 30 minutes more. Not cool, but that isn't the worst part. While we were waiting the original 20 minutes, we saw staff arguing at least twice about whether or not to seat us. Apparently they COULD seat us, but the hostess, I guess, didn't want to seat us. We could see open tables, but the hostess refused to seat us. No apologies from Chili's, just minor annoyance that we were annoyed. We left and went to Applebee's.
