We arrived at chili's on Saturday around 5:45, seated immediately which was great! We ordered drinks and I signed up for their app which have us chips and salsa for free, double great! We ordered food around 5:52, this I know because I sent a photo of my kids to my mom. Around 6:28 I started to wonder where the hell out food is? People say after us were getting their food. Our server passed hubs st least 20 times and never once said hey it's coming. So finally got the food about 6:33. Mind you, I have a 2, 6 and 7 year old, who were being pretty patient the first 25 mins. But 40 mins for food in a not so busy restaurants when I have small children is unacceptable. After we finished and she finally brought the check, we asked for dessert, to GO! 10 mins later nothing, so my husband took my son to the car, my dessert comes out and its frickin plated! Oh. Um, oops? So I want my sister with the other kids to the car and waited for my boxed dessert, which my server said she did not hear us say, even though my husband and I said it like 3 times when we were ordering it. "Should we get it to go? Yes, let's get it to go. Okay, to go please".... About 7 mins later, and I have been sitting there trying to pay the check on kiosk, keeps telling me my check is not ready yet again in 30 seconds. So my server finally comes over and says she will run it. Luckily she comped the dessert cause at that point, 100 mins later, I was pretty annoyed. We were looking forward to having lunch and arrived just before 11 am opening. Realized after a couple minutes and a still empty parking lot something was amiss. Walked around to the to go door to read a sign that they are not open for lunch until further notice, due to staffing issues. They open at 4 pm daily. Arrived at noon, thought I would have to wait but was pleasantly surprised and seated immediately. Server was very friendly and courteous. Everyone was hustling so no one had to wait very long. WARNING- chips and salsa are NOT complimentary (5.00) and they were cold and stale. I ordered steak fajitas which arrived hot and sizzling. Meat and sides were tasty. I would order the fajitas again. Love the location right by the mall, after a day of power shopping you don't have to go far to get a bite to eat. I know places are short handed but it's ridiculous when you can't sit a party within safe parameters. Also you don't sit people and they sit for 20 min and not get offered drinks. My boyfriend and I came here and our meal was great but there was a hair in my fajitas, I wasn't looking for my meal to be comped but I wanted to let them know so they can handle the situation accordingly. The manager working at the time was so incredibly nice, not only did she comp 7 dollars off the meal (the price of my fajitas) but she also gave us a free paradise pie. Arrived around 9:30 pm, wait time was only 5 min. There is plenty of parking as this Chilis is in the Modesto mall parking lot. The service was really slow but the food was decent. We ordered the honey chipotle boneless wings to start, which I really enjoyed. We also had the chips and salsa with guacamole. I really like the chips here, they are nice and light, only issue is they break real easy when dipping into the guacamole. Thought I would go different and order the prime rib fresh mex bowl. It is prime rib over citrus chile rice with green peppers and onions, house made corn, black bean salsa with avocado slices. Topped with pastille- honey chile sauce, tortilla chips and cilantro. Went there this last weekend , well not as good as it use to be . If you have great waiters or server it's one thing , but if it so so , they get a so so tip . It seems someone at the company put tip info on the bill which is another thing I did not like . Remember everyone carries phones now a days they can look it up . Placed an order for delivery last weekend. Sent boneless wings instead of bone in wings that I purchased. Asked for one order with sauce and one without. Both boneless wrong orders came with sauce all over them. Contacted as I paid over $40 for my order. Sent 2 more orders of bone in wings but both had sauce all over them. Absolutely terrible! Food was cold and meat looked days old we actually returned the item. The chicken enchiladas were drenched in a horrible sauce and food was microwaved. I called to Manteca and they apologized for your locations dishonesty and put us on the waitlist immediately. Ordered to go through door dash twice this week - Excellent! I'm obsessed with their chips & salsa. I would just order that alone if I'm craving it, because...YUM! Between our 2 orders, we had the Southern Smokehouse Burger, Texas cheese fries, kids meal cheese pizzas, BBQ ribs with loaded mash potatoes & corn on the cob. All delicious & packaged VERY well. The kids pizzas were a HUGE hit with my 4 & 5 year olds. Really soft, flavorful crust. Can't wait to order again! read more

A favorite of my brothers for their phenomenal steaks. The server was really cool and the food and drink was top notch. I accidentally ordered the nachos not realizing they are not a basket but prefer topped individual chips like 12 of them. Originally I was going to deduct another star for the lower food count but the nachos as is were pretty decent. They all had cheese and chicken. I did deduct one star though because I really felt that the nachos were not really properly pictured to avoid the sticker shock of standard nacho fare. The toppings were minimal as the chips were already drowned in cheese and chicken so not really able to do anything else with them like putting tomatoes or guacamole. On the bright side the server was pretty fast with our orders and he was always on point with checking on our drinks and ensuring the accuracy of our order. Wow, who knew I would 1. ever go to a Chili's and 2. actually give it 4 stars!! Srsly, I could not have been more happier about my experience here. As a former restaurant manager I just look for the little nuances that create an "above and beyond" experience- and chili's has it all. For one, I came in (the door was opened for me) sans gramma and mom to put our name in- since it was high lunch time and thought there might be a wait- there wasn't and the host offered to take me right to my table, despite my whole party being there (huge plus!) but I decline since gramma and mom were right behind me, when they came up, noticing my gramma's difficult time walking they opened BOTH doors for her- huge plus, totally taking advantage of hospitable opportunities. The second thing I loved about chili's is they have a "guiltless" menu- as a former rest. mngr. I def packed on a few extra lbs- so I have been watching my weight and having a guide there really helped- I also love healthier, low fat, high grain options (I got a chicken sandwich on whole wheat bun with steamed broc accompanied by a balsamic vinaigrette - it was WAY good). Now, granted, it is a bit cheesy to have a "low cal" menu- but with a 5 page menu I appreciated a simplified version for me. Great place to go with friends when you've exhausted all the other offerings around the area. They are consistently good and offer up a nice, chill atmosphere perfect to house the overly-animated ones in your group like myself and a few others. The food is what you'd expect from a casual dining chain elsewhere but the difference is the wait staff are down to Earth and willing to help you have a good time. After we were seated and got our drinks we sat probably about 30 minutes until we had to finally realize that they haven't came by to take our order yet! my sister in law had to all other servers walking by where our waiter was! When we got or food my husband's burger was still alive! He ordered medium rare it was definitely on the rare side so he had them take it back and remake it so he wouldn't get sick! When they gave him the new burger it was the same thing very rare! We only seen our waiter like twice threw out the night! It wasn't even that packed in side! Is there a possibility to give ZERO stars here? I've been here a few times and let me say there are unprofessional hostess who seat you. The waiters don't seem to know specials or the menus very well... on busy nights i've had them screw up my order. Basic American chain food.. the only thing that i good is bottomless Chips & salsa @ the bar during happy hour... This way no waiters are there, except the bar waiters... Soooo I have a large family. My wife and I have 6 kids! You can imagine how difficult it is to find a restaurant that will accommodate us and still seat us together. Let alone in a pandemic. I called this Chili's 2-1/2 hours before traveling through on our way up north. They told me Let me check with the manager (Clarissa). No problem sir we can accommodate but it is first come first serve. They took my name and phone number and I asked if they weren't going to be able to do it to call me so I can make other arrangements. We get there and my name wasn't even on the list. They had put a separate sticky note to the side..... I asked to speak to the manager(Clarissa) and she didn't even act concerned just said yeah we can accommodate you in an hour. They weren't even busy. There were 2 tables open that if they had planned ahead since I gave them my arrival time (7:15) where they could of seated us. Just poor communication and customer service. The least the manager could of done would've been to try to get us in a little quicker but instead put us at the end of the list... So we went to Black Bear instead. They were more than helpful and sat us even though they stopped seating at 7:30 and it was 7:35. Oh and I hope the manager Clarissa reads this because you cost your server $100 tip. Not a big fan of this place in general, been to a bunch of different locations throughout Northern California and this one is by fast the worst. The one in Stockton and Fremont are the best. The service is ALWAYS slow and 8 out of 10 times the food is either wrong or cold. I enjoy the queso and chips and my kids like to eat here so I go here a few times every few months to satisfy their cravings. I really hope they get better with custom service as time goes by I know a lot of people like to have drinks and appetizers here. The guy or kid I should say who check us in took us off the wait list without us wanting too and when I asked him about it he acted like I wasn't there even though I was face to face with him so we seated are self's at the bar and the bar key kept disappearing on us and when we finally got a hold of him he took are orders and disappeared but I respect that he might of been covering other tables. I absolutely love Chili's ! Best option when you're shopping at Vintage Faire Mall. I love there lunch express. Comes with unlimited soup , salad, and chips and salsa. Omg there soup is to die for. All the soups are good but my favorite is the chicken enchilada . Sarah was our server . She is super friendly and very attentive. She was quick to bring our drinks and take our order.
