Why, you may ask, did we go all the way to Delaware to eat and or Chili's? Well. We had been to a number of different places and really just wanted something familiar. Chili's is usually low risk. I got the bacon burger which was excellent. Bobby got something with ribs and the chicken crispers. I can't figure out if we are ordering the chicken crispers wrong (and there are multiple styles at each location) or if some locations do batter and some do breading. Breaded is better. Came here during one their "soft opening" days and I have to say that my experience here was good, for the most part, especially considering the fact that they had just opened the restaurant (but not the the public at the time). Now you may be wondering why I didn't just give them 5 stars since I had a pretty good experience, right? Well, for anyone who might be wondering why I didn't give 5 stars, here's my answer: some workers weren't very hospitable...and in my opinion, having a positive experience with the servers, trainers, and managers makes a huge difference in my dining experience. But on a more positive note, their food was really tasty and hot, temperature-wise. I've had some restaurants serve me food that's room temperature or even cold, but this place didn't, they served the food at just the right temperature. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, which were really yummy and made great leftovers the next day, and my parents ordered the full rack of ribs (delicious!) and the sliders. As for beverages, we ordered unsweetened iced tea and water. And for dessert, they brought out a slice of cheesecake, which apparently was pretty yummy, according to my parents. I called in for a togo meal on a Wednesday night the employees at this location are very friendly, my honest opinion is there is so many franchise restaurants and restaurants around this location its hard to found a good one to eat at the food is always bad . The best place to eat at when I visit Delaware is chick-fil-A or Pot stick or just go to the market , make your own food , again this is my opinion! I ordered the original chicken crispers, mashed potatoes street corn , but got the regular corn , the Southwestern egg rolls appetizer ! The chicken crispers looked burned and over cooked ! I am a Chilli's fan but this place was disgusting. The food was ok but the condition of the establishment was completely unacceptable. The floor had a slimy film of some sort on it that it oddly slippery...and this was all over the restaurant. The bathroom was filthy so I can confirm the floors as I had to make the trek across the building. The worst part was, as we were sitting at our table, I witnessed our server talking to the hostesses and she dropped a knife out of the clean silverware bag sets she was holding onto the bast floor, She picked up the knife and, without a thought, put it back in the "clean" bag to be given to a customer. Can't comment on the food or the service because I never got seated. On a Sunday late afternoon about 3:30 pm. I was told the wait would be 10- 15 minutes but I suspected it would be more since there were several others waiting before me. After waiting 30 minutes with no one at the hostess/check in area to give an update, we left and several of those waiting before and after us did too. About 10-12 of us left. They are under staffed. Many who seated didn't appear to have food have either. Do better Chili's. read more

Negative zero stars if possible. I ordered the bean nachos and told the waitress I was vegetarian. They gave me beef ones. I didn't realize right away because their wasn't a heaping pile of beef just small chunks. I took a bite of one of the chips and immediately knew someone was wrong. Yup. I felt sick the rest of the night. After returning the wrong order the waitress AND the manager came out , not to apologize but to berate me and tell me I was wrong and that I ordered nachos with beef. I have been a vegetarian for 10 plus years, i've gotten my fair share of wrong orders with meat in the meal so I ALWAYS make it a point to tell the wait staff that I am vegetarian, I CANNOT eat beef for health reasons and will get sick. Anyways the rest of the food was VERY mediocre and after the wrong order innocent the waitress was extremely rude and condescending the rest of the experience. I was extremely polite and understanding when I told the waitress about the beef in the nachos and I just am still in disbelief the way she and the manager had treated me. I still tipped well over 20% because I always tip generously but I will not be back. As for the staff, I hope they learn to communicate with customers in a more professional manner next time, I understand the restaurant industry is a tough, unforgiving job but my treatment was unacceptable. read more

I came for lunch during a weekday and was seated promptly. The service was good, though slower than I would have expected given how few people were in the restaurant. I got one of the specials, which included the crispy chicken strips (which were fine but not that exciting). The guacamole was fine again, but also not memorable. Given the long wait, I was disappointed to find out that the tableside game screen was a paid service. At the end of 2022 I was on vacation in FL and my hotel was close to a Chili's. My eye fell on the '3 for me' on the menu. It had fajita as one of the main choices and for just $2.50 more you had a cheesecake all included. So I came there everyday and ordered the same sizzling deal....LOL. Now it is the start of 2023, I went to my local Chili's and found out....no more fajita on the '3 for me'......the party is over now!!!!.....very, very disappointed because that was the very item I was totally sold on. In the end I just order from the regular menu, the chicken fajita....but it just was not like how real fajita is supposed to be!! The chicken was prepared like run-of-the-mill chicken....not like the tasty chicken I was used to from other places and real Mexican restaurants. Do not know it was the lack of spice, whether it was chicken breast or just the preparation....but it tasted like bland chicken like I make it myself and I am not a good cook...LOL...The Chili's purports to be the king of fajita and no....this did not hit it....and of course there was no sizzling at all of the plate with the steam and all that....gone with the wind. I guess no sizzling should have been a warning sign. So very disappointed with the unexpected menu change (and price increase of course) and well...these days you cannot find any competent people anywhere, so maybe the cook was some ex-bus driver that knows how to cook but not how to make things taste restaurant style. Maybe was a security officer three months ago....who knows. As they say, if it tasted like you can make it yourself (and you are so so in the kitchen)...then maybe not a recommendable place to visit treating yourself to something special. It makes me sad, because I has such a great experience last year in FL, but well...times have changed....for the worse quality...for more money. That is true from the Post Office...to the Car Dealer and everything in between. The Post Office charged me $5 for certified mail and then never delivered my letter. You would think USPS should be able to get a letter someplace if you pay them $5...but no. Likewise....at Chili you pay almost $20 and what you get is not really fajita, but an imposter that looks like fajita. Damn Chili, you know that this thing is supposed to sizzle...so that is how you can spot imposter fajita. And then Chili proclaims to be the house of fajita....no not even close. That is embarrassing. If it does not quack it is not a duck. If it does not sizzle it is not fajita. Do you get that, ex-security officer and now cook? What a world we live in today. Nobody can do anything right these days...but they do know how to take your money though, they are damn good at that. Verizon same way. They removed my discount.....took me forever to find out why they removed it....all BS stories...finally 8 hours of calling later....I dispelled the nonsense why they had removed my discount and they now finally put it back on. They will charge me however for the several days it took me to prove, that they were totally unjustified doing so. And they still have the same protocol in place that I proved was incorrect. So instead of apologizing and giving me a gift card for a whole lost day of my life....doing research on what was going on...getting to the bottom of it...and being HOURS AND HOURS on the phone...I now have to pay them because they wasted my time and money..... The DMV cancelled my license two months ago and I just found out today by total accident. They never informed me that the status had changed!!! When I called they did not apologize, they said it was a glitch and it is all fixed now. Not sure what would have happened if I were at the airport flying back from a remote destination with an invalid license!!! You see folks....they fuck up....they do not care a rat's ass...and they will never compensate you for the hundreds of dollars you are loosing, for them not doing their job right.... Spirit Airlines, Frontier, Southwest....you end up loosing hundreds of dollar because they simply will not deliver on what you purchased... They take your money and then simply do not deliver.... some other flight maybe 5 hours later that arrives past midnight or a flight the next day. Your flight is cancelled or delayed for an hours then again and again and gain......for several hours and then even more hours. Now you have no ride home, no train connection, nowhere to sleep but the airport. You should see the pattern (downgoing spiral) by now. Do we end up going through the drain? Who is paying for all these incompetent people? You. Because you are HOURS on the phone everyday to get shit done and you do not get paid a dime for it. Hahaha. read more

On October 1st my partner and I went to the Christiana chilis for lunch. When walking in, we did notice there was a wait and a slight wait for a table. We are both bartenders and are extremely patient and understanding of the service Industry. This however was probably one of the worst experience we have encountered. We sat at the bar where we were ignored for 15 minutes. After about 20 minutes we ordered our drinks (water and a lemonade). We also placed our food order at this time. We were not giving silverware, straws, or napkins to ensure we were set up for our food once it came. The drinks were ran by another server and food was brought out by food runners. We then asked for silverware from the food runner who reiterated to the bartender we needed silverware. 10 minutes later our silverware was brought out and food was ice cold at this point. So we requested to speak to manager at this point due to the pure frustration of our visit. Once he came, he reflected the same bad service we had just received. During the time that we were explaining our frustration he continuously cut us off to simply list excuses. He then asked us if our food was good... we never complained about the food! We never even got a chance to touch it. We realized we were not getting through to him at all and will be reaching out to the GM and if not, corporate. read more

Awful experience from start to finish. Save yourself and go to literally ANY of the other restaurants in the shopping center. My parents and I went here on a Monday night around 8pm and the restaurant didn't appear to be busy at all. Maybe about 20-30 customers max. We arrived to find an empty hostess stand and waited about 3 minutes for someone to notice us. Finally a gentleman came up to greet us and began looking for a seat for us. Then a female waitress came up and started arguing with him to not seat us in her section because she had too many customers already (she had 3 tables, 10 people max). Finally after the bickering was finished, we got seated. We then waited about 5-10 minutes for a waitress to come over and take our drink and appetizer order. I got a root beer and the chicken fajita soup, my dad got a beer and a cup of chili, and my mom just got a soda. Service was slow, for no reason as the restaurant wasn't busy at all. Finally after a long wait, drinks come, and then our soup and chili came out really quick. My soup was fine, my dads chili was awful. It looked like extremely dry ground beef, no beans, no sauce, and was COLD. My dad sent it back and got a new cup which was fine. Fast forward to the main course. My parents got the ribs and brisket meal and I got the Santa Fe crisper salad. The brisket in their meal was cold. My salad was just ok, the lettuce looked like it was getting old, but I ate it anyways. Right as we got our meals, my dad ordered a second beer. One draft beer took nearly 10 minutes to receive and my dad finished half his meal before he noticed his drink sitting on the bar, while our waitress paid no attention to it, and instead started cleaning. My dad finally got frustrated and walked up to the bar and got the drink himself. Finally the waitress just happened to look up and realize we weren't so happy with our food. My parents then asked to speak with a manager. The manager came out and was defensive, starting off with saying he put the meals through a 750 degree oven himself and there's no way it should be cold. He then proceeded to ask my dad how many drinks he'd had, as if to insinuate he was intoxicated (he wasn't, he'd had 1 beer and a few sips of his second at this point). After my parents told the manager about the bickering at the hostess stand, the cold chili, and being ignored by the waitress the manager finally agreed to comp their meals and the two beers. However, as the manager walked away from the table he asked if I had ID....FOR MY ROOTBEER. WHAT EVEN??? I spun the bottle to show him the label and looked at him like he was dumb. And even so, I'm well over the legal drinking age. He then tried to play it off, saying "I was just kidding." So we finish up our meals and then we're stuck waiting for our check for like 15 minutes! Finally frustrated, my mom got on the touchscreen device on the table to try and pay our bill. Just as she was finishing the transaction, the waitress and manager come out with a massive dessert to try and fix all the mess ups....sorry folks...no amount of chocolate-sauce drizzled brownie could fix our experience. Ten years ago, Chili's was one of my favorite go-to places, and they shut it down. Then I find they opened a new one near Christiana Mall. Went today, and I'll never go back. First, our waiter was rude until our food situation. Second, the bathrooms were filthy dirty (to the point of gagging to pee )... third, under/over cooked food was underwhelming. Three times I said, let's go somewhere else, but my son and I stayed. Bad news... food was awful. Pre-prepared, soggy nacho chips that were overcooked, ribs that were undercooked and drinking out of plastic mugs is not my idea of sit-down eating. To their credit, our waiter did have a chef come out and she comped the undercooked rib platter. She had offered to cook something else but we had sent most of the food back, and couldn't stomach eating anything else As result of the food we were both sick to our stomachs. I had such fantastic notions of the old experience but they're not any better than your local Applebee's. read more

I WANT to give a good review but I just can't. My fiancée and I have tried this location twice now and both times were bad experiences. This on this visit we arrived at 6:30pm Saturday night. Only a 15min wait..that was acceptable! Then they seated us in the bar at a dirty table that was empty when we walked in....? About 5 minutes later we were greeted and ordered drinks...that took another 10 minutes, but OK. (There was only one bartender on duty) My Miller Light draft was awful..tasted flat... the waitress tasted it, too, and admitted it..and swapped it out for Coors Light, but the returned drink....remained in the bill... I am not original--I order chicken crispers all the time. And I did again. They are usually large pieces of juicy chicken but this time it was funky/small pieces. Not so juicy, but not terrible. But COLD. My fiancée ordered chicken tacos, which tasted like (and I quote) "cat food"... The black bean side dish was cold and the tortillas were dry and brittle...so she only ate one. With tacos, they can be a mess. For napkins we were given drink napkins...lots of them... when we asked for DINNER napkins, we were given..wait for it...MORE drink napkins...although the bar patrons all were being given DINNER napkins! Because of these two experiences, we will be taking our Chili's business to the best Chili's we have been to to date, the one in Elkton, MD. read more

Let me start by saying the service was excellent and our waiter was as nice as can be. However, they were out of almost all of their soda so my husband and son were unable to order drinks. My husband ordered the Chili's Chili Burger; it wasn't until our food was ready to be served that he was told they were out of chili. My husband had to reorder something different. I ordered steak fajitas, one of my favorite things. Either the food has changed in the past few years or west coast is better then east coast. The rice was clumped, too spicy and looked like it was out of a package. There was a drizzle of something nasty tasting on the top of the steak, it was over cooked....over all, our food experience was aweful. We stopped by here for a little celebration meal a couple of weeks ago and well let's just say I don't even know about the food... because we were never served. We arrived and noticed a group of people waiting. We asked how long the wait was and was told about 20 min. We didn't mind. As we were waiting, we noticed plenty of empty tables. I asked why everyone was waiting if there were empty tables and was told that they didn't have time to service them. I said okay. Two minutes later we were escorted to our table (weird how there just all of a sudden became an empty table). Anyways... we were seated... and waited... and waited... and waited.... 20 minutes.. .was never offered a menu, a cup of water or anything. Chili's is a pretty laid back and chill place to go for basically any meal. The appetizers are always worth the try, and if you wanted to get one for a meal they are big enough! The entrees are just as big and delicious as their drinks are- the margaritas usually come with some left in the mixer for you to pour into your glass when it starts looking depleted. I highly recommend the ribs, the corn on the cob, and the quesadillas! read more

My wife asked to be seated in the bar area and the two hostess told her that there was a 15 min Waite! She said no one is in the bar area per say and only wanted apps and they said still a 15 min Waite! We walked out!!!! No one in the bar the bartender standing around due to no business and they say there is a Waite!! Well in these days of business chains closing due to lack of customers, I guess this location is making so much money they can afford to turn business AWAY!!!! This place is meh. Hubby says it took him a while to decide what to order, not because there were too many delicious options, but that nothing stood out. My reason for going was I hadn't been to Chili's in five years and I remember the chips being amazing. The chips were great and lived up to my memory--warm, super thin, and ever so crispy. If Frito Lay could learn how to make chips this thin without disintegrating while packaged, that would be a true feat. The buffalo chicken sandwich and fries were average. I had the crispy chicken tenders and fries which were decent with a lingering weird aftertaste. The waitress was really friendly and nice. The bus boy doubled as host, and as such, not many people were getting seated. We stood by a table awkwardly and long enough that a waitress felt bad for us and seated us. Cost of the meal was relatively inexpensive but you get what you pay for --no frills. Hubby says he is a 15-year customer so even though we liked the chips, we won't be back to a Chili's for another 15 years. read more

The first time I ate in, took 20 minutes to get a table in an practically empty restaurant and then another 20 where we were seated with no server. We walked out. Then today I try "carside to go". Which turned out to be a 40 minute wait in the "carside spot" before I hate to get out and go in to get my food. Which is now cold. No more. I will not return after this. read more

Horrible! They said 35 min wait and 50% of the tables were empty! There were more people waiting in the hostess area than In the rest of the entire restaurant! We thought maybe they were lightly staffed but there were plenty of people working. So ends up sitting at the bar. The bar was empty except two other people and the bar tenders let us sit for 15 min without even looking at us. Finally placed a order and food came out completely wrong twice.
