I feel like Chili's is one of those places you come with your friends to vibe and chill and have a great time. I ordered a triple dipper this time around and I got mozzarella sticks, chicken crispers, and the honey chipotle mozzarella sticks. My friends and I came because they were advertising Wicked drinks. I'll be a little bit honest, the advertisement looked very cool but the drinks we got did not look like the picture. They ran out of wands and it was in a different cup. Little disappointing as I was excited to post pics with my friends. The margs themselves were also tasty but not my favorite flavors. Despite this, my mozzarella stick had a great cheese pull, 10/10. The service was awesome too. I had a lot of laughs with my friends. I will say my second margarita was filled mostly with ice so I felt gypped. During my dining experience, one diner in party exclaimed "oh, wow!" midway through chowing down on their chicken quesadilla cooked for humans. That specific diner ordered a *SECOND* chicken quesadilla cooked for humans to take home to their loved one who was homebound lounging on a couch. The movie was great, very disturbing, the screen the size of a football field, sound so powerful it probably rearranged my organs, but the real heartbreak came afterward. Fuddruckers closed... Our burger dreams were dead on arrival. She and I stood there like characters in a sad music video, staring through the doors at what could have been. We decided to go to the nearby Chili's, not knowing fate was about to deal us the Adam card. Adam (ADD UM) was our waiter, and he wasn't just good, he was revolutionary. I ordered a water (because I'm living clean), and he brought it out like it was the rarest vintage from a crystal spring in the Himalayas. My friend and I split a triple dipper, and the man made sure each component arrived in its absolute prime. The crispy chicken crispers? Golden perfection. The sliders? A masterclass in miniature burger engineering. The fried mozzarella? Honestly, Michelangelo couldn't sculpt them better. Adam checked in at exactly the right moments, never hovering, never absent. He had that sixth sense only elite waiters possess. He read the table vibe instantly. I don't usually leave Yelp reviews, but this experience was actually ridiculous. I stopped in for a bite and a cold beer--ONE beer. That's it. Not even halfway through my first drink, the bartender tells me they're "cutting me off." For what? Sitting quietly and watching the Sox game? I wasn't loud, I wasn't slurring, I wasn't even done with the beer! I asked why and was told something vague about "policy" and "looking out for safety." Come on--what does that even mean? my husband and I went there 5:30 pm in Auburn Ma location. it was to dark for lighting, couldn't see the menu to well. the place was feeling cold , I kept my jacket on during the whole meal time. Also my order was messed up, and they don't know how to make Mac&Cheese correctly! I was told "Well sometimes it can be soupy and other times thick & creamy. it was suppose to be a bowl of mac&cheese not a 1/4 cup ! the picture in menu showed a bowl! food was hot and edible but I should have asked for a manager and did an official complaint to him! we had a long day and we just wanted to eat and then go home for some rest! my husband's food was fine he ordered the chicken and ranch nachos plate. I ordered the potato soup bowl , that ended up having extra cheese and onion in it , when that was not how it was suppose to be, but it was good. then the Mac& cheese was put in a very small cup 1/4c size and was watery! and they was no extra cheese and onions and it was not in a bowl! as pictured on the menu! So if we ever go there next time! I will let it be known that if there is a problem with what I ordered I'll let the manager know right away! Our bill was $ 52 or $53 dollars! also I was charged $3.45 for a small school like carton of milk to go with my tea , because they don't have milk on the side to request when you're having a cup of tea. Which is really messed up! I really was very disappointed and wanted to raise the roof of that place with how everything went but I didn't want to embarrass my husband because he always just wants me to be quiet about about these things! Ordered two triple dippers which I have and multiple times at OTHER locations. Granted I door dashed this order I get it ... but The chicken wasn't even cooked. Raw and chewy in the middle I'm so lucky I didn't get food Bourne illness ! The quality of the meat of the burgers was also chewy and terrible. It's a shame that in this economic state you go for an affordable meal and the quality is about the same as the price. Capping off a weeklong trip during May 2022 in the New England area, I decided to walk to this shopping mall in Reading (Wakefield), Massachusetts and found this Chili's restaurant. Chili's is a nationwide chain restaurant since I have a few in my hometown of Honolulu, HI. The familiarity of Chili's in another state and town was a nice respite from the traveling I had done previously in the week leading up to this experience. Chili's has a plethora of practically most of what people enjoy. From pasta to steaks and tacos, there's usually something for everyone. They also serve liquor too, which is a good thing for those who love to have something with their meal to take the edge off after a hard day at work or relaxing while on vacation - like me in Wakefield. My experience here at this Chili's restaurant took about an hour or so. I wanted to get back to the hotel before it was dark. I arrived here at 5:30pm by myself and left shortly after 7pm on a Sunday evening. The ambiance was rather loud and not as quiet as you may think. I was seated fairly quickly, which was good, and it seems like they did not really respect the COVID-19 thing, since here in Massachusetts, it was "at-your-own-risk" type of thing. Whatever. At least I was away from the nearest person and can dine here without too much hassles that is the new normal now (more or less). The restaurant itself was fairly lively and busy, but it wasn't too crazy to get the initial order in. The overall experience here at this Chili's restaurant was decently good and decidedly average. The service was fast and friendly, although with a fast paced restaurant, it doesn't seem so as a customer. But it was okay. While prices are decidedly higher than the usual fast food fare we know and love, a sit down restaurant such as Chili's usually has higher prices and the quality of food and the food offerings are better anyway. Be prepared to spend at least $11+ on entrees and $6+ on alcohol. For myself though, I ended up splurging a bit, as I was on vacation at the time, and ended up with a steak for my dinner and ice tea. I also got clam chowder on the side. Probably should have ordered dessert to go, but it is what it is. What I noticed with Chili's and other chains like them, is that they have a pay station at your table, so the wait staff doesn't take time to bring you your check. After my steak meal, it dawned on me waiting 20 minutes that they're not coming to bring me my check, so I looked at the pay station and touched the face a couple of times before the digital check came out. Oops. There goes 20 minutes. The restaurant itself was rather large and can seat about 50-75 people at any one time. If you're in the area and love Chili's, swing on by. They'd love to have you. This Chili's restaurant location is located at 70 Walkers Brook Drive in Reading, Massachusetts. As mentioned before, they accept major credit cards as well as cash. I figured you'd have to call the wait staff if you were to pay in cash, but they have pay stations for everyone who uses credit cards. As far as parking goes, they are in a sizable commercial shopping center, so parking here is very generous and definitely a place worth coming to on a Friday night or even the weekend, if you don't feel like driving down to Boston for a night out. As for public transportation options go, there is public transportation from downtown Boston from the North End station to Wakefield, but you'd have to either walk or take an Uber. The good part was that it was in walking distance from my hotel, less than a mile away on North Avenue. The bad part was that it was a mile away. Still, it was nice to be here on my last evening here in the area before flying home. Good service and good food. I'd recommend coming here for parties and celebrations. Came to this location for the first time for dinner on a Monday. Hubby and I ordered the 2 for $25 meal special- guacamole and chips appetizer, half order of ribs, and mango-habanero chicken fingers, with the cheesecake dessert, and the margarita of the day (dark cherry). Total came out to around $36 (with tip). What's Hot - Menu variety. Pretty decent for a chain. Pretty much something for everyone, although I don't remember if they have vegetarian and/or vegan friendly dishes. To be fair, one of their original theme songs was "Chili's baby back ribs", so I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't modified their menu to be more accommodating. However, they have a pretty decent selection of appetizers, soups, salads, some seafood, chicken, beef, and some desserts. - Pay at the table. They have small stands that allow you to pay at the table, which is helpful and convenient. We had a gift card, which we were also able to use on the stand. The balance exceeded what we had on the gift card, but the stand was able to deduct the amount from the gift card and let us pay the remainder with a credit card. Definitely a convenience, because I was wondering whether we would have to call our waitress back to pay the remainder. That we didn't have to go through a back and forth with the wait staff was helpful. - Portions. Pretty good-size portions, especially because we ordered the meal deal of 2 for $25. Before our orders arrived, I was a little worried they might skimp on the portions, but they didn't. It was enough for us to get full. - Price. That we can order a meal for 2 at $25 is good value for money. The back of their menu is where their meal deals are, but they're pretty good and reasonably priced, especially given the portions and choices available. - Quality. Pretty good. Not bad, but not great. My ribs were decently flavored with sauce and not overly sauced. Meat was tender, but a little dry. Hubby's chicken fingers were a little spicy, as well, which was pretty good. Our guacamole wasn't really seasoned, but there were good chunks of avocado in there. It tasted and looked like it was recently made, as well, which was appreciated. What's Not - Allergic reaction. Hubby and I ate in a booth. I placed my arms on the table as one usually does. After we left the restaurant, the middle part of my arm (beneath my elbows) started getting itchy and red bumps appeared. This didn't happen to hubby, but his arms weren't on the table as much as me. I cleaned my arms after we got home and put aloe vera on the bumps, which certainly helped. They went away the next day. However, this has never happened to me before at a restaurant. I'm uncertain whether this was an allergic reaction to normal cleaning supplies they used or if they used something specific to clean surfaces because of Covid. To be fair, there are uncertainties. At the least, it makes me hesitant to return to this specific location. - Service. Not bad, but not great. Our waitress was hard to get a hold of. For example, we wanted to ask for additional salsa, because we had leftover chips after we finished the small bowl of salsa and guacamole. We couldn't find her at all. We also saw their host helping clear dishes and doing other things. I'm uncertain whether they're adequately staffed and/or if their wait staff are taking on additional duties. It certainly looks like their busy, which means their wait staff aren't the easiest to find and flag down. My point is to be aware. - Quality. The margarita wasn't that great. The cherry flavor was incredibly subtle. We could definitely taste the sweetness of the syrup, but that was it. Good amount, but not a great flavor. My ribs were also a little dry and not as moist. Hubby's chicken fingers were overly breaded. - Health and safety. During this time of the pandemic, some of their staff wear masks and others don't, which isn't great, because that leads to uncertainty. I'm being generous these days because restaurants are hurting for workers. You can't expect perfection when restaurants are full of customers and staff is short. So give those who show up to work compassion and respect and expect delays and mistakes. It's not the end of the world. A mere temporary inconvenience that's always rectified quickly. I hadn't been here in 10 years. I suddenly remembered how much I liked the food and the staff and the atmosphere. The prices are very fair compared to similar places. It cost $38 for 3 of us to eat (no alcohol). The food was great from appetizer to dessert. The $25 for 2 is a great deal as is the $11 for 1. It's a full course meal for either 1 person or 2 and portions are large. The staff were all attentive and courteous and quick to ask if we needed anything or how things were. I was there for dinner, Friday evening 4/1/22 and apparently the joke was on me and the party of friends I was with. We sat in a booth bar side and had a young plesant waitress who apparently forgot to process our order after taking it. We waited well over an 90 mins for our food to be delivered and the order was completely screwed up upon arrival. I received the wrong order of the brisket quesadilla and did not receive the side order of fries I had asked for (but was charged for them.) A friend received a wrongly prepared order of the same item as well, he asked for a double order of this brisket quesadilla without jalapenos, and received a single order with jalapenos. My other friend got a rib eye that was so small it more resembled a small cut of filet mignon. We were told one of the meals would be comped and if we ordered dessert it would be free. My friend did not want his jalapeno laden brisket quesadilla and asked that it be returned and comped as he did not want to eat it to which the waitress responded "cant you just peel it apart and pick the jalapenos out?" We decided to take up the offer of a free desert and got the lava cake, but I was surprised that it was a share size w/3 spoons. Being that we are still delaing with COVID it is not a wise idea to be sharing food like that and was a turnoff, they could have at least told us it was a share size and given us the option. Paying our tab was a nightmare as the 1 meal, 1 errant quesadilla, order of unreceived fries and free desert were not immediately comped as promised and it just made the process even more confusing and time consuming. Plus they make you use this extremely stupid and obtuse tablet that takes space up on an already small table that's just gross and smatterd with finger prints... Because why have the servers handle the cash-out when you can just have your customers handle the POS system? Bogus! I will never eat there again, we were treated as though we were an afterthought and quite frankly the food wasnt all that good when it finally arrived. The place was packed and busy, but I wont accept that fact as a reason our order was forgotten and then screwed up, the kitchen was fulfilling orders non-stop, we watched as party after party was served and to-go orders were flying out the door. This issue was primarily server caused and instead of just admitting the error, apologizing and retaking the order to ensure it was taken right, there was little to no explanation with a promise to comp up front, but that offered little satisfaction considering we needed to wait another 25-30 mins for our order that was wrong upon arrival. read more
