For a neighborhood chain restaurant, I like Chili's. My go-to menu item is the fajitas, usually the beef, chicken, and shrimp fajitas. Always tasty with each ingredient fresh. I always have to ask for extra tortillas since I usually run out for tortilla while there is still plenty of meats and other fajita ingredients left. I usually take home left overs. The other food items I have tried at Chili's have also been good. Come to think of it, I have never tried but probably should try their baby back ribs considering the hype and jingle. Decided to give chili's another try but at a different location and I was pleasantly surprised. It was really good! Our server Alexis was so friendly and honestly the host and other employees were just as nice. We entered the restaurant and the host greeted us right away and let us know that we could get seated immediately at the bar or we could wait for a booth which would take 15 mins. We decided to wait and about 10 mins later, we were seated. Our server greeted us within minutes of being seated and she was so sweet. We ordered our food and our appetizers came super quick. Dinner service was slammed with large birthday and grad parties, however wait time for our party of 6 was a reasonable 30 mins. Service team and kitchen really powered through with efficiency and never dropped the ball; food was served hot and fast. They all must've had one heck of a pep talk during their huddle because everyone was working hard but not sweating it: no apologies in advance, no requests for us to be understanding, just everyone exuding confidence that they could deliver a good dining experience. I know I'm just one customer, but it upset me tonight that the outside service for to-go orders changed but that it wasn't made clear. As many times in the past I waited in my car and called them. Tonight the to-go spots were full. They no longer provide outside service. The sign outside still had the prior to-go signs and it appeared to me on the website link, things hadn't changed. THIS REVIEW IS IMPORTANT! I went to the Chili's on Truxel Road today at about 11am for lunch. When I arrived, I noticed the sign says they open at 11am, not the 10:45am listed here. I sat at a booth IN THE BAR AREA. I was dining alone. After my meal, which was Chili's and I wouldn't be at Chili's if I didn't like their food, I called my mother (trying to be a good boy since she says I never call her enough). A female employee (not my waiter) came to my table and informed me I was talking too loud and then stared at me for a while, like I wad a criminal or something. You will have to take my word when I say I am the farthest thing from a roudy person imaginable. I am actually extremely shy and reserved. That being said, I have been told that I speak overly loud at times. I apologized profusely for speaking too loud and assured her I would lower my volume. After my phone call, I noticed that I could PLAINLY hear the conversations of people sitting around me. Let's be straight, Chili's is supposed to be a fun bar/restaurant, not a library. I don't think I was talking much louder than anyone else. Apparently, someone was offended that I am capable of visiting a restaurant on my own and that I was talking on my phone rather than to someone at my table. People who use their phones at inappropriate times annoy me. People who are loud in inappropriate situations annoy me. NONE OF THAT should have been true here with me. If you are looking for a bar/restaurant for a group of people that wants to maintain a library ambience, then BY ALL MEANS, visit Chili's on Truxel Road. If you are dining alone, YOU ARE NOT WELCOME. Chilis 3 for me is a staple!! You get a drink (I always get the blackberry lemonade - my fave!), a starter (soup, salad or chips & salsa) and an entree. There's many to choose from with various pricing. The one we choose is only $10.99 for all that I mentioned! We normally get two orders (one Smasher Burger & one Old Timer Burger) & end up only spending around $23!! Such a steal!! The bag of chips is like getting a huge bag from the grocery store! Good neighborhood spot; however I am disappointed to hear Chili's recently got rid of their shrimp tacos from the menu since now there aren't as many choices for a pecestarian to choose from. Perfect to bring your date. The server was really quick on to offer a glass of water. Being vegetarian, it had always been a challenge to found some veggie option on the menu. To my excitement they had some good vegetarian options. I tried this delicious dish called Black Beans and Veggie Fajita! It comes with mix veggies, rice, beans, tortillas and some condiments on the side. This one dish I would recommend every vegetarian person to try out once. Adding more, being a cocktail lover and trying out always unique cocktails I ordered coconut margaritas.
