Nostalgic, Greasy Spoon, Mom and Pop, Neighborhood Joint.... The list goes on and on. How can you not give out 5 stars to the local spot that has great food and great service. The burgers are every bit that helped define iconic, 1950's America local burger joint. They are really good. Now, dont expect some kind of amazing gourmet burger. Tried this place for the first time. This is a great portion. I got the two piece leg and thigh meal and as you can see I got 3 pieces. The chicken had no grease at all. It was crispy and you could tell it was freshly made. I would have enjoyed a dipping sauce with it but it was plenty flavorful without. I also got the spicy tots but I ate them immediately. Chilly Jilly'z was made even more enticing since it's equipped with a drive-thru - we were too exhausted to contemplate standing up and getting out of the car. I ordered a dole-whip float sans the whipped cream and my better half got a raspberry smoothie. The dole whip float was great and I loved the pink umbrella it came with. Next time I'll probably just get a regular ol' dole whip though. My husband's raspberry smoothie tasted healthy (maybe too healthy). Our final verdict: we'll be back, especially after a long hike. The most asinine experience I've had here. Made a stop for a Saturday snack; ordered 2 shakes, a scoop and a frappe. Got the shakes and the scoop within 30 seconds of paying and was told to wait for my frappe at the other window. 10 minutes went by and everyone else that ordered after me was getting their food orders, so I nicely asked the cashier for an update. She said "I only take orders so I don't know but I can find out". She never came back to the window. Waited a few minutes and noticed the other window open, someone put a drink on the counter threw the straw out and shut the window without calling out a name. There was only one other person waiting for an order and had no idea what was going on with his order either. He rang the bell and no one came to the window. I called into the store via phone and the lady that answered told me they were making my shakes and frappe and would be out soon. I told her I already got my shakes 20 minutes prior and only needed my frappe. She just kept repeating that they were making it. Waited another 6 minutes, they brought out the other guys food and drinks and nothing about mine. Few minutes later the cashier opens the window and pauses to look at the drink on the counter and says "that was probably yours but here's a new one" I asked if she was serious and asked why they'd toss my drink out without saying anything. She was quiet. Got my drink finally and left. I liked this place, I've been coming here for years but if this is the staff they employ and the behavior they deem "professional" then I will never waste my time here ever again. read more

I have lived in Boulder City for 4 years and like to support locals , but 4 years ago I stopped ordering food at chillys since many times food was sub par . I decided to give it another try in hopes it improved since the store has upgraded its patio dining and in store service . Sorry to report the food was sub par and more expensive than I expected. We got the basic burger and double burger . Nothing came with it for 11$ but worse the burger looked like a thin hockey puck with Zero taste ! First time here! Been wanting to try on all my visits to family but just never made it. Unfortunately they were out of burgers (1pm)... not sure how that happens, but it was a disappointment. We ended up getting the beef panini, Caesar salad, and pulled chicken sandwich. The panini was good. I ordered it without bbq sauce. It was a good portion, and ended up taking half home, same with salad. My brother had the pulled chicken sandwich and said it was ok. He probably wouldn't order it again. The tots were delicious- crispy and hot. The wait time from ordering to getting our food was way too long. This is a great place to stop for a frozie or ice cream (froyo) before or after the Hoover Dam. They also have all kinds of food items and many people were partaking. I just always go for the ice cream. I highly suggest the sno cone with custard in a fruity flavor. It was SO GOOD. The fro-yo by the oz is a bit cheaper than urban super fro-yo stores, as well. Plenty of tables inside and some outside. It's easy to find right on the little highway. read more

After our excursions def hungry I have seen this place many times upon my drive from Vegas to Arizona. Today was the day to try it. Upon entering there is a menu up top, along with the specials they offer. They even have frozen custard and beer. We were immediately greeted with warm and friendly customer service. Today we got the Bighorn, TABLT, and of course the Pastrami with fries and potato salad. After ordering, we found seating, and the food was brought out to us. All of the food was very good in taste. 5 stars is a lot. But to be clear it's obvious a serious chef is at the heart of this place. Hands down the best burger you can get. The pickle on it is standout hero but it's not the only reason it's a great burger. The fries here are what crinkle fries are supposed to be and never are. But let's be honest good burger ... big deal. That's not why it's 5 stars. It's five stars because of the broasted chicken potato salad and biscuits. This is without a doubt the finest fried chicken in nevada. Worth the wait which lets you take in the charm of the building itself. Great sandwich's with great breads. Haven't had any of the breakfast stuff yet but for now it's my go to place to something to seat when I'm at the lake or in boulder. I love broasted chicken I would say it was some of the best I've ever had I got the 4 piece plus 2 sides. It's was about $12 the wing was excellent but the breast meat was chewy the sides were stuffed in little containers I don't know why they don't use containers a little bigger. First and foremost, this is the place when I need to satisfy my Dole pineapple whip cravings without having to make the drive to Disneyland. Plus, they have Dole raspberry, orange and pineapple/orange swirl. No singing birds and there is no smell of the water from the Jungle Cruise, but in a pinch, it works. Next thing, and this ranks high, their bathrooms are very clean. This is huge for me, because you can tell how the staff cares about their store by how their restrooms are maintained. Third, they sell broasted chicken. Love broasted chicken when it is hot. So juicy and wonderful. The drive thru takes a while. Today, I ordered 2 salads and a drink. Normally, you bring out the drinks first when the customer hands the money, especially when the area is under a heat wave. In this case, she forgot the drink. I totally get waiting for the food. We past by this place everytime we go to lake mead but today we finally stopped and I am glad we did! They have UHMAZING pineapple dole whip and orange dole whip. So delicious! Tasted just like the dole whips in Disneyland. The food was also delicious. It was made fresh so we had to wait about 10 minutes or so in the drivethru but it wss worth it. The food was super fresh and hot. I had the Dam Best Panini and it was awesome! The bread they used was super good. It was sturdy and crunchy with great flavor. I love Chilly Jilly'z because there is a variety of good food to choose from! I have eaten here on a few occasions when I'm out and about in Boulder City. The breakfast burrito ($9.99) Flour Tortilla filled with Eggs, Home Fries, Ham. I love when a breakfast burrito has crispy fries rather than soggy potatoes. It wasn't greasy and messy which was a plus! Everything tasted fresh! I also tried the fish and chips on a separate trip. They came with golden crinkly fries and potato salad. The tarter sauce was really good I suggest getting more than one small container because they give you a good deal of fish with it. I also ordered their shave ice where you can add Dole Whip or custard to it! I'm so glad they do it because most shave ice places don't offer to put ice cream or at least condensed milk on the shave ice. That's what they do in Hawaii so all Shave Ice places should do it too! Chilly Jilly'z is the first restaurant you hit as you cross into Boulder City on Nevada Highway. They are a locally owned business that serves up some delicious Broaster chicken, Dole Whip, and other tasty treats. What's nice about Chilly Jilly'z is that they still employ teenagers to get job experience. Seems to be a dying art. I generally come here after hiking for a Dole Whip or other frozen dessert. Or more likely, I'm ordering the Broaster chicken for take-out. The family meal comes with humongous potato wedges, biscuits, and a side choice. If you're unfamiliar, "Broasting" chicken combines pressure cooking and deep frying. Supposedly this makes it lower in carbs, calories, and fat than traditional fried chicken. I can't vouch for that...BUT it's definitely very juicy with a light and flaky crunch. They don't start cooking your chicken until you order it, so I recommend ordering by phone if you don't want to sit and wait for it to be ready. read more

When we wanted a lunch break it was a nice place to sit and relax and have lunch, but apparently they're never opening there doors again. If I wanted to eat outside I'd have a picnic.
