I will always remember the Chimayo from 2009. Amazing food and reasonable prices. They were still having to establish themselves. Now, they are a shell of that restaurant. The food could be good, but often there is something wrong with a given dish. For instance, rare does not mean the same thing as cold and uncooked. And I won't comment on the prices. Wow where do I even start. I had one of the best meals of my life here. I came here for a company party so we had the whole downstairs booked, and amazingly attentive staff looking after us the whole night. The food was INCREDIBLE. The cheese fondue appetizer came out over a little warming pot and was just decadent. Between that and and guacamole/snow crab appetizer, I got a little carried away and didn't leave enough room for the main course. I got the tierra y mar: the most amazing wagyu fillet and two gigantic prawns, all swimming harmoniously in a flavorful balanced sauce. First of all, the interior of this place is GORGEOUS. Super unique and very detailed, you can tell someone put some love and care into it. The hostess was super accommodating when I requested our group be in the main room (upstairs) by the fire!! Superb table. The glasses are little chalices-so fun! The ceviche was delicious- as was the queso and their different kinds of chips are awesome. For dinner-I actually ordered off the kids menu and got the cheese and chicken quesadilla which was surprisingly good. The BEST part of the whole dinner though was dessert!!! The chocolate fondue oh my GOSH! Please get it. We also had a birthday in the group so they brought out their CINNAMON ICECREAM and holy crap guys it was cinnamon toast crunch in icecream form you have to get it pls pls pls I promise you wont be disappointed. Very happy with our experience and it was nice to have a different genre of food for a night in a city that mostly does steakhouses and gastropub food. Fantastic service. We had no reservations, decided to try anyway. She "squeezed us in" great queso. The trout fajitas were delicious. I'm not even a big fish lover so that's saying a lot. My GF had the ahi taco. Sounds strange to have ahi taco and just one... it's huge. She loved it. Good sangria. Cool Spanish atmosphere. We arrived around 7pm on a Tuesday thinking we would be ok without a reservation, we were wrong lol thankfully we were able to leave our phone number with the host and head off to walk around town. We returned promptly when the host said she thought our table would be ready even though we didn't get a call. We were seated and our table was set and water filled right away. Our table was upstairs near the entrance to the kitchen so we were able to watch everyone come and go. We waited for approximately ten minutes before our server greeted us, which was extremely painful because every server that came out of the kitchen and walked our way for our hope us. We were ready to order by the time he finally got to us, but only took our drink order and promptly turned around and ran!! Ugh frustrating ! By the time we placed our app order and entrees we had been seated for almost 20 minutes. We ordered the ceviche appetizer Also we both ordered the corn and lobster chowder Or entrees Bronzino and Elk tri tip This was chain restaurant level service at fine dining prices unfortunately, BUT the food was very good. What a great Mexican restaurant. We went here for dinner and it was a quiet evening right before the start of the season. Our server, Lily, was so friendly and helpful, even though she made it hard to choose because she told us everything is delicious. We were going to order an appetizer, but after seeing the large portions arriving for other diners, we opted to skip that. Besides, the wonderful bread with cilantro aioli was delicious and filling on its own. Hubby ordered the carne asada, which I tasted and was very yummy. I had the trout tacos, and they were also very good. We also liked the woodsy, cozy ambience and the large fire going. Upstairs is nicer with high ceilings and cute little booth tables. Our waitress seemed to not be loving her night and wanted her tables to close out quick and had us order drinks, appetizers and entrees all at once which is not my favorite. But to her credit they were spaced out time wise fine. The guacamole and crab appetizer was good. The guacamole had a fruit hint and the chipotle spiced it up great, the crab was nothing impressive. For entrees my boyfriend ordered the ribs and I the duck enchiladas. Now the duck enchiladas were tasty and unique and came with a whole duck drumstick as well (this was our favorite of everything we ordered). The ribs while piping hot were just ok..we expected greatness but they just came up short..hah short ribs...bad joke. We planned for the Mexican chocolate dessert but were too full. My only complaint would be that my party ordered a to-go meal for someone not eating in the restaurant and the waitress brought it out before we were even halfway done eating our meal so it was stone cold by the time we left. read more

We decided to leave the kids with the grandparents and head out for a nice romantic couples dinner. Got a reservation for the only time available 5:15. Got there at about 5:20 and the hostess brought us to a table. It was a two top right next to the stairs to the downstairs. I didn't really like the look of the table but the wife said it was fine. We sat down and ordered drinks. Then the downstairs started filling up. Every time someone came down the stairs all we could think about was the dirty shoes right next to our drinks and food, and every person that came downstairs would bump my wife's chair, despite it being pushed in as far as it would go. Additionally the entire downstairs was filled with screaming children. I know the restaurant doesn't really have control over this, but maybe put the two tops upstairs. We love kids, but had left ours at home for a reason. It felt like we were dining at chuck-e-cheese, really killed the romantic fancy dinner vibe we were going for. We finished our meal while trying to have a conversation over the screaming kids, and got our bill. When the waitress came back we politely expressed our displeasure with the experience. She did the correct thing, apologized and went and got the Assistant Manager. He came to the table and apologized, while simultaneously professing that he was basically powerless do do anything. I've worked in restaurants and I've never heard of a manager not having control of the restaurant, but apparently only the corporate office can fix this issue. He didn't even offer to discount the meal or anything. It was basically "Sorry that sucks, I agree this table is bad, but I'm powerless to do literally anything about it." After that he said go on Yelp and complain and maybe they will fix it and move this table!!! It was surreal. It was a shame because the service was good, and the food was good if overpriced (expected for Main Street Park City). Long story short, terrible ambiance, good food, good service. 1/5 would not recommend. read more

This place was awesome! First a convenient location on Main Street Park City since it is on a corner, easily accessible from different parking areas. Nice decor and amazing staff. Our table was a little cramped (9 of us in an 8 person spot) but we worked it out even though patrons and waitstaff kept having to say "excuse me" as they squeezed by. Food?!? Simply fabulous and delicious. From the duck enchiladas, to the serrano branzino to the succulent short ribs, our table was in culinary heaven. They even had a childrens menu (great since we had twin 8 year olds and a 14 year old amongst our group) which helped much. The service at Chimayo had dramatically improved since my last visit. It was a nice gesture for the restaurant to provide dinners amuse bouche and complimentary desserts. I appreciated the host offering alternative options for me after she was aware of my food allergies. The waiter was friendly, but she wrongly assumed seafood was vegetarian. I recommend the restaurant educate the staff on dietary restrictions. I look forward to my next visit to Chimayo. read more

Our group of 7 enjoyed a delicious meal here earlier this week. We were all really happy with everything from drinks to appetizers to entrees. Our server was very knowledgeable made recommendations that were really helpful. We started with queso fundido. My girlfriend who loves beef but is allergic was thrilled to find a buffalo flank steak on the menu. She said it was amazing. My fresh local trout fajitas were really wonderful. It was encrusted with herbs and sesame seeds and I'm not sure what else. They added cremini mushrooms to the pepper sauté. So yummy! Hubs ordered the nacho style chicken and a couple of guys in our party grabbed the Tierra y Mar. No one had a single complaint. We left happily stuffed! read more

Don't think i've ever had Elk before but let me tell you....it was one of the most amazing dishes i've had! Something about the way they seasoned it and the yellowish sauce that you could dip it with was just so exquisite! My whole party was blown away when we all took the first bite of this dish. And it just kept getting better with every bite! Besides ordering the Elk for an entree, I highly recommend the shrimp ceviche.
