We really liked this place. Not sure why some comments are suggesting it's not fresh food. Maybe the competition would post such a thing. But watching it being made from the counter I felt like I was in Guangzhou again! All fresh ingredients were thrown into the wok. Yes, it's a simple place. But that's the key to authentic, don't you think? Patagonia wearing folks can retreat to PF Chang's, then have a group chat at Starbucks about how awful 'unchained' food is. I've ordered takeout several times now and each time I've been satisfied with the speed of preparation, kind service, and freshness of the food. I enjoy their wonton soup and crab rangoons, which I feel are some of the best around! Always full of delicious cream cheese filling with lots of green onion; they're hard to beat. On multiple occasions the staff have included a complimentary order of spring or egg rolls into our bags as a kind gesture. Each time I go in to pick up the order it feels as if I'm being greeted by a friend. The kindness of the staff does not go unnoticed. The service and communication was horrible. Constant interrupting and over talking. I was just a few minutes late and he called me 6 times in a row. They messed up my order and yelled at me for their mistake. The food is sub par at best. I would rather have mall food court Chinese food. The place was clean, I will give them that. But really need to work on customer service skills. read more

The only reason I gave 1 star is because I had to. This place serves by far the WORST shrimp fried rice I have ever had. The rice consisted of white rice, steamed shrimp, and a few pieces of cabbage. I called the restaurant to verify the lack of ingredients (i.e. fried egg, peas, carrots, bean sprouts, etc.), and after she yelled "no egg, no vegetables, that's fried rice," she hung up the phone in my face. Being an Asian my self, they make amazing food. Flavor and texture are on point. The meat is nice and tender. Even if you microwave the leftovers. The portion sizes are amazing and cost effective. Don't bother. I went here during my lunch hour and out of the 15 or so pans on there "buffet" only 5 had food in them. I was here for over 30 mins and they did not bring anything additional out except for a small portion of sesame chicken. When I asked for a refund the kid behind the counter said they were bringing out more food. So I waited 10 more minutes and it was still bare. And the kid disappeared so I couldn't get my money back. I'm not exactly into this place but I unfortunately have to go with my coworkers occasionally. Most of my experiences have been during the evening hours, the food is ok not bad but definitely not good. I got into an interesting discussion / debate with the one of the owners the other night because they prefer that you paying cash so they don't have to ring you up and I assume they don't have to pay taxes or the credit card / debit card fees. AWFUL customer service. Was hung up on twice and even yelled at. I ordered food online and called to confirm they had gotten it and see when I should come pick it up. Since the website does not say. The first time I called no one even answered. The second time the woman answered yelled at me "okay, okay, okay yes I have the order" then hung up on me before I could even ask when to pick it up. Then I called back she yelled again "I already told you!" And I had to yell over her what time do I need to come get it?? She responded and then hung up again. No you're welcome, no sorry for hanging up on you the first time, have a good day nothing. Sub par food that is for sure not worth the terribly service at all. I just can't get enough of this place! The customer service is amazing. I go there a lot and end up getting some surprise extra that they put in my bag for free! I will be honest and say that the people who work there do not speak fluent English and sometimes will mess up your order. Also, the Mongolian beef is not what you would normally call a Mongolian beef. Just a heads up, but overall, such a great place with reasonable pricing and great food! read more

Food was 2-3 stars, not great, sort of like fast food. Had a pretty bad experience with them so I will never come back. They got my order wrong, and I took it home (not knowing) and finally got a chance to eat it about 2 hours later (I have kids I was putting to bed, feeding, etc) So I finally open it, and it's the wrong food. No big deal, I'll just call them up right? I call them, they yell at me for ordering wrong (?) and then say something else I didn't understand (very poor English). So they put somebody else on the phone who yells at me that I ordered 2 hours ago and then they hung up (!). What!? Who hangs up on a customer when I was being polite! I call them back and say that it was sort of rude to do that (maybe it's a culture thing?) and that I'd like to order (and pay for) the correct meal. They yelled at me again saying I already ordered 2 hours ago. I politely told them nevermind and that I'll never be back. The decor is awful. Everything in there looks borrowed and like it's been around for 15 years. The place is just icky in every sense. If they treat their decor and customers like garbage, guess what the food is like... Fortunately Shanghai Ichiban is nearby and 100 times better I found. Fast, polite, clean. Much better. read more

First I felt like I was annoyance walking in. I was the only one in there at 6 pm and before I even picked up a menu I was asked what I wanted and stared at until I made my choice 45 seconds later. I paid more than what I'm accustomed to, but I've had a bad day and I'm worth it (don't judge). The food was made and ready in less than 5 minutes. It's ok. There's nothing wrong with it but I'm not impressed either. It's close to home and fast but I think I'll reserve Chinese food for when I'm at work and have more choices. read more

Love this place! Eat lunch there at least once a week and order take out 2-3 times a month. Their Mala Chicken is the BEST right along with the hot and sour soup and the crab rangoons. In reading the other reviews - yes, it might be a bit dingy (the furnishings are showing their age) but it certainly doesn't affect the quality and/or quantity of the food. I am guessing that the seating is limited to maybe 15 and sometimes you are sharing a table with people you didn't come with but again, who cares with food this tasty. beef fried rice more like worm fries rice. the beef was small rubbery tan pieces of looked like worms. very oily, the cook sneezed in her hand , then proceeded to cook my food, without washing her hands. the egg rool I bought and took a bite of had a very bad aftertaste. will never go there again . go to far east on 32nd street. much better food. read more
