This is the best Chinese food we have found in Castle Rock. They have many options and the food doesn't all taste the same. If you like spice they can zip it up for certain and if you don't they are still able to get the flavors. I would recommend if you order online to pick it up that you call them. They've not seen our advance order a couple of times but worked hard to get it done when we came to pick it up. read more

Well it's been a while since I have reviewed this restaurant. Probably about a year. When we first moved to Castle Rock This Chinese restaurant was so good. The last three times we have gotten food from there they have messed up our order and the food just was not good. So disappointing because we don't have a lot of choices in Castle Rock. I ate here tonight and the food was delicious! Some of the best Chinese food I've had in a long time! We got the Cashew Chicken and the Mongolian Beef, both very good. We also started with the Vietnamese egg rolls, egg drop soup, and the hot and sour soup, and they all were very yummy. The egg drop soup has corn in it, which I loved. Tom, the manager is so nice and treats you like family. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

I ordered from this restaurant because one of the reviews said that this was east coast style Chinese food. Well...being from NYC, this was nothing like east coast Chinese. The Lo Mein was made with linguine noodles and I received four sweet-and-sour shrimp with my large order...the rest was nothing but peppers and onions. Long story short, the 3.5 yelp rating is accurate. Pros: this is the first restaurant that offers delivery (including jimmy johns) that delivers to Crystal Valley. Quick delivery, arrived 15 min early. Food was hot. Pork Fried Rice, Spring Rolls, and Egg Drop Soup were great. Cons: Sesame Chicken had little sauce, and was very dry on the inside. Their beef with broccoli has something off about it, maybe just untraditional? All in all, if I'm desperate for takeout, I'll probably roll the dice and try a different entree, with that pork fried rice (yum) read more

This has got to be the WORST Chinese food ever! Got delivery, no sweet and sour sauce for sweet and sour chicken, the greasiest, orangest Kung Pao chicken, scallion pancakes that were soggy. Chicken was over cooked and impossible to chew. The worst part of all of it is that they argued about everything. I was told that it's impossible to have that many dishes that were unacceptable. They also said it was the first time I'd ever ordered from them - wrong! If that were the case, I wouldn't have been in their database. NEVER again!!! We order for delivery a lot from Cafe China, and last night we ordered 40.00 worth of food. We ordered orange chicken and sesame chicken, dumplings, and wontons. And fried rice. We also ordered the spicy for both chickens. When we received it the chicken wasn't tossed in the sauce, it was cold and had hardly any flavor. Very upsetting. I he dumplings were ok, not the best and the wontons tasted like hard paper: they were cold and hard, those are my favorite part and I was very disappointed. Dear God, where do I start? We have ordered take-away from this business on a couple occasions and the food was OK. Most recently we ordered about $45 of delivery...... got home and opened up the generals chicken and noodles. About 5 minutes into our "delicious" meal, we noticed a crispy critter just chilling with the General! ! Ya. My wife freaked out it and upon further inspection, yup, 'twas a roach! Immediately we called the restaurant and spoke to a female who then gave me to some alleged owner/manager of the business. He said "it was impossible" that there was any bug in our food. I offered to send him pictures and even re-deliver the food to him to show him the roach that was cooked into the generals chicken. The owner said "bring back receipt and I remake for you". Ummm, no thank you. Won't be going back here again and I have notified the health department. At least the roach was included free of charge. read more

We have been going to China Cafe for 15 years. We truly have never had a bad meal. If fact, our meals have always been delicious. Only difference over the years has been a little less food is served. I had a combination bowl and the meat and shrimp were tasty and tender. The noodles were the best I've ever had, perfectly cooked. The service since the new owner took over is fabulous. The owner greeted us upon entry and checked on us at appropriate times. The waiter was also excellent and attentive. As we were leaving he opened the door for us and stood there for a moment as we got in our car. They have a full bar now and I had a margerita and it was great. All I had was General Tso's (middling to good depending on the piece I ate), fried rice (no veggies or eggs in it, just some seasoning that I strongly suspect is like Lawry's or Tony's), egg drop soup (congealed and slimy), and some crispy wontons (those were delicious). Their fried pot stickers are yummy as is their combination fried rice. Pleasant people that work there and take your order and good quality food. This is pretty mediocre chinese food. The pluses for me are that it is within walking distance of our castle rock office which makes for a good lunch option. It is also relatively cheap. You can get an entree, soup, and an egg roll for under $10 at lunch time. As for the food itself, well, it's about average for what you would expect to find in a strip mall. Nothing is particularly bad, but nothing is particularly good either. Definitely not worth an out of the way visit, but if you are in the area and looking for standard chinese fare, this will probably do. read more

Loved the food and service here. Came from Colorado Springs on our way to a concert and will definitely drive over here and come again. The Kung pow chicken and the Mongolian beef was super tender! They served your choice of rice, fried rice, brown rice or lo mein with the meal. The portions were very generous! Josh was an excellent server. Totally with a try you will. It be disappointed. I don't know that I've ever seen food as correctly colored as what I saw tonight. I had the General's Chicken and it was phenomenal, just as the other reviewer said. The broccoli was perfectly green, the all-breast-meat chicken was perfectly white, and the batter was just the right thickness and a perfect golden brown. This seems like a complete family operation where the family has figured out how to provide excellent service, buy good ingredients, season the food perfectly (at least what I tried), and then cook it all quickly and very very well. I am from out of town. I order some supper to be delivered to my hotel. They say 45 minutes. It is over an hour. Not a big deal. It can happen. After a few bites I realize that I have chicken, rather than the seafood I ordered. Again, though annoying, it is a mistake any human can make. They ask me what I want to solve this problem. "Bring me what I ordered, and hurry" I explain. They agree to. But then, then they call me back a few minutes later, wanting to charge me the $3 difference between what I ordered and what they delivered. Cheesy. read more

It's sad when chinese food from a restaurant tastes worse than frozen chinese from a grocery store. The orange chicken sauce was terrible and nearly unedible. The crab Rangoon was burned almost no cheese in it. I wish I had good things to say, but even the to packaging leaked all over. read more

Fast delivery, ok price, food was ok just not what I'm used to. Ckn lo mein was cooked in something with a seafood taste. General Tso was not spicy but was ok. Egg rolls were more like spring rolls so if you like spring rolls you are set. If you like egg rolls you would be sad. Just ok not bad not great. read more
