This Chinese takeout restaurant is located a few doors down from Publix. I would say the food is okay. It is not great but it is not terrible either. I ordered pepper steak with fried rice and an egg roll. There was a lot of steak and a lot of onion. There was not so much green pepper but that was not a problem for me. The fried rice was a little lackluster but I added soy sauce to it and that really perked it up. The egg roll was dry and not oily. I thought the egg roll was the best part of the meal. Pricing is the same as your average Chinese takeout restaurant. I might stop in here again if I am in Publix and craving Chinese food. Disgusting. The food is old and they do not clean the shrimp properly. I ordered the jumbo fried shrimp and it was over cooked, dirty, and small, and hard as a rock. The egg roll was stale and it was difficult biting into it. Upon calling the restaurant to resolve this order this requested that I go back to restaurant to ensure I was telling the truth. My family really enjoyed China City. We got one of the family specials delivered. The General Tso's Chicken was the favorite. The sauce was savory, spicy, and sweet sauce with a unique citrus twist. The breading was a bit on the heavy side. We also ordered the Cashew Chicken and the Chicken with Mixed Vegetables. The chicken was good quality white meat, veggies were crisp, flavors were good but a little under-seasoned for my taste. The Wonton Soup had 8 wontons (maybe a little low on the roasted pork strips) and the fried wonton strips were fresh, crisp, and delicious in the soup. We did not like the Fried Wonton appetizer...should have ordered the Rangoons maybe. The service was excellent from the order to the delivery. Portions were plentiful (I fed a family of 3 and we have leftovers for tomorrow) for just around $25 and that's with the tip! read more

Whenever I visit a new Chinese restaurant, I always order my goto meal. It is simple, hard to screw up, and gives an idea of the establishment's quality. If the test is successful, I'll return and order something more complicated. My goto order is egg drop soup and beef fried rice with no soy sauce (trust me, fried rice is much tastier and flavorful without it). As I said, very simple. The egg drop soup looked like it was artificially colored. It wasn't bad tasting, just unappealing in appearance. The fried rice was completely unappealing. It consisted of a strangely colored yellowish rice. It had some strips of beef, but then had only onions and peas. Not pea pods, not snow peas, but peas. Additionally, the peas were frozen versus fresh (this is easy to tell). There was nothing else as part of the dish. The beef was completely unseasoned. This was a version that desperately needed soy sauce just to give it some semblance of flavor. The prices were very fair. However, the meal was unenjoyable and no amount of fair pricing can make up for it. There are far better Chinese restaurants in the area, notably Dragon Gate at Hiatus and Pines (just down the road) that is excellent, or Tien Tien on Palm and Miramar that is quite good but only does take out. read more
