    Orange Chicken
    Evan K.

A decent Chinese food spot in Almaden! It's family owned and has been around for a while in this shopping center. Sadly, not many businesses thrive in this shopping center, so props to them for staying alive! Parking will never be a problem here. Ordered Orange Chicken with fried rice and beef and broccoli! All of them meals come with a soda. The rice was a little bland, but I still liked it! It tasted like it had been sitting around. The orange chicken was really sweet and drenched with sauce, and the beef and broccoli was okay. The meals are a little pricey as well.

Can always count on Lin Garden to be opened on the holidays. Ordered takeout for New Years dinner and service was quick and convenient. The restaurant's setup is more of a store front, so not many seating indoors. We usually get: - beef chow fun: 5/5 - ratio of beef and been sprouts to chow fun is perfect for my preference, chow fun noodles cooked well so it doesn't stick together - meat combo w/ tofu: 3/5 - nothing too special, a filler item to have variety - walnut shrimp: 4/5 - pretty consistent on the fried batter, plus it's nice that they pack the mayo on the side, however a couple times they forgot to throw in the walnuts - sweet & sour fried chicken: 4/5 - also another item that is good but not as consistent, sometimes the chicken can either be smaller pieces vs bigger pieces, I prefer the bigger pieces because meat is more tender/juicer Pretty safe choice for Chinese food in the Almaden area. However, it can be a bit inconvenient for those that don't live nearby.

A neighborhood mom and pop restaurant owned by a local immigrant family (we were told the chef used to cook in a famous Cantonese restaurant in China) that serves delicious traditional Chinese food with very reasonable prices. The portions were large. Every dish we ordered was great. They reminded me of the comfort food you would find in south China, nothing too fancy but really good. The space is pretty small (only 4-5 tables) but is great for takeout. The service was very friendly. We are definitely going back soon.

Hole in the wall mom and pop shop that makes the best Chinese food in the South Bay! I personally love their food and their location because if we don't support these we will be run by Panda Express!

Came here for the first time today for takeout. What a pleasant experience. The owners are very sweet and kind. I ordered the Kung pao chicken, sweet and sour shrimp, shrimp fried rice and shrimp chow mein. The food was prepared quickly and was ready in no time. They packed all the food with care, separating the sweet sour sauce in a separate container. I thought that was wise, because the sweet and sour shrimp stayed crispy by adding the sauce when we were ready to eat. The food was really good. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the food was not overly greasy. Both my husband and I enjoyed everything and there are plenty of leftovers. The food was reasonably priced and the portions were large. I'm so happy to have found this restaurant that is close to our neighborhood. We will definitely be back for more. I highly recommend this Chinese restaurant for takeout or dine-in.

The food is delicious here, some plates may be a little pricy but is worth it considering how much is served.

Fast and good food. It's a Togo joint - don't come in for ambiance. Service is fast as well and portion sizes are generous

Very nice family owned Chinese restuarant in the Almaden valley area. Food is good portion and they accept credit card.

Although it's an online menu, we ordered via the server and food was freshly made. The tables are not big and we had to shuffle dishes around. Food quality wise was not that impressive though. We tried: - coke chicken wing: does not taste like coke chicken wing, lacking the fried element on the outside, more like a sweet soy sauce chicken wing - pan fried buns: ok, has juice inside, but some part of the bun was too hard. - regular XLB: tasted ok as there's soup inside. The wrapping can be thinner. - rainbow XLB: the most disappointed dish. They were almost all broken when we tried to pick them up. The pink one I got was curry beef and it just tasted weird. The green one which we presumed is spinach wrapping is actually a veggie XLB. - Garlic noodle with spam and veg: This is the best dish of all. There are slices of soft mushroom, good garlic flavor, we had spam and cabbage added. $13.60 for plain noodle and toppings such as protein and veg are each $2-$3 on top. -Garlic Kale: also good, chopped garlic brought up good flavors and the kale are fresh. -Ube buns: freshly made and not overly sweet, good size and quality, but 4 for $13.5 is not that affordable. Total damage before tips is $104. I think I still prefer Shanghai #1 for pan fried buns and other Shanghainese dishes.

You place your order through a QR code, which makes the process quick and easy. This visit, we ordered the salt and pepper chicken wings, Tidu Sliced Beef Pot, and Tianjin Eggplant. The wings are a must-order here. They're always perfectly fried and crispy on the outside while still staying juicy and tender inside. The Tidu Sliced Beef Pot reminded me of a dry hot pot. It had a great mala flavor with a subtle numbing sensation, and the peanuts added a nice crunch and texture to the dish. The Tianjin Eggplant was simple but delicious, with flavorful pork that paired really well with the soft eggplant. Overall, the food here is comforting and satisfying. It's a place I'll definitely keep coming back to.

It's in a busy complex, but there was enough parking. When I walked in, I noticed they had a half-empty dining room but a ton of to-go orders wrapped up, including mine. I really loved the Mongolian beef, and the eggplant dish we got was good too. The chow mein was good. I did like the cucumber salad, but it would be better if it were sliced smaller, so the marinade could infuse the cucumbers. Service was friendly. Food was very fresh. I did notice the portion sizes were generous and we had plenty of leftovers!

We walked in right at opening to a completely empty dining room. Instead of leaving, we browsed the menu and ordered XLB, pot stickers, jelly fish, and pea sprouts (my personal fav) so glad we didn't leave! The XLB are a nice size, with each precious dumpling cradled in its own foil wrapper for maximum soup retention. The potstickers were full of flavor, packed with protein, delicately wrapped, and had the crispiest, golden bottoms! Jelly fish was fresh and the pea sprouts were a hit! The poor owner answering the phones made sure (in all languages) to inform folks calling in that there were a different May Flower than the other place-felt terrible for her but also understood the importance of differentiating right up front. I can only imagine the number of misorders they have probably dealt with. By the time we were done, the dining room was filled with a mix of what seemed like regulars, locals, large groups of families, small groups of friends... this feels like we stumbled upon a tiny hole in the wall restaurant where everyone who has been before just knows the quality and taste they are going to be getting! This is one of the handful of American Chinese restaurants that stood the test of time. As is typical of these places, there was an old lady manning the counter and also acting as the server. And as is typical of these places, there was table at the end where they were prepping the fruits and veggies. It's truly remarkable how they are all similar in these ways! We got a couple of dishes and they came out at lightning speed. * Chowmein-3/5- delicious with lots of umami flavor but shockingly greasy. I mean I am used to oily noodles but this one exceeded some limits. *crispy salt and pepper eggplant-3/5- I had a stellar version of this dish at another restaurant in Sunnyvale and was stoked when I saw this on the menu here. Unfortunately it was a poor representation of the dish I loved there. The batter was too much and the dish felt heavy. The hot oil or sauce they had felt old and extremely vinegary as well, I would recommend avoiding it.
