I've been searching for good Chinese takeout in Cincinnati for ten years now. I'm going to keep looking. I have had lunch in the China Food dining room a few years back, and wasn't terribly impressed. I thought I'd try again recently, and it was WORSE than I remembered. I had a combination fried rice, and a hot and sour soup. It was the worst hot and sour soup I have ever had. The combo fried rice was bland, and the chicken was very fatty. DON'T DO IT! Possibly the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted. I ordered orange chicken..... Terrible!! The meat was dry and the breading was soggy. It was the worst cuts from the chicken. The authentic Chinese menu they have is very good. I lived in Beijing for 6 months and fell in love with real, non Americanized Chinese food ( though I enjoy them both). It became my comfort food. I recently found out China Food offered an authentic menu and was ecstatic. I've gotten a number of dishes and it brought me back to Beijing. I am moving soon and plan on having a couple take out nights before I move. read more

I ordered the sesame chicken, which was delivered via a food delivery service. The chicken was hard and chewy, and looked tasted like it was made days ago and reheated. I spit out the last bite I forced myself to take and decided not to bother trying to eat the rest. read more

The wings were good as well as the pork ribs. The shrimp fried rice was hard to consume as the rice grains were not cooked. I had to finish cooking the shrimp fried rice I ordered in order to consume as I didn't want it to go to waste. I love Chinese/Cantonese dishes, but this this was beyond disappointing. read more

I would have given this place 4 stars but it gets 3 for the following reasons. I ordered the hot and sour soup, steamed dumplings, and szechuan chicken. The delivery time was pretty good, around 20-30 minutes. The hot n sour soup was okay, a little bland. I think they need to add a little more vinegar to it. The steamed dumpling were really good. The szechuan chicken was pretty good but there was hardly any chicken. I had to dig around the veggies just to find chicken. I was very surprised because my roommate's dish was loaded with chicken. If I was given more chicken with my meal it would have definitely have gotten 4 stars. I will probably give them another chance because it was better than King Wok and other chinese places around Clifton. read more

Two had lunch here 5/7 (see review) and five of us returned for dinner on 5/12/21. We chose from the authentic Chinese menu. Appetizers included New York and California Sushi, Cold Sesame Noodles, Marinated Cucumber with Garlic and Marinated Squid. All were outstanding. We ordered a lot of food as we wanted to have plenty of leftovers, but even with all these orders, our bill came to less than $100. Our main dishes included Kung Pao Chicken, which was a bit spicy but not too peppery. The rest of our order was quite mild in spice: Shrimp with mixed vegetable, Steamed seafood with tofu casserole (which so similar to the casserole that we would not order the two together again), Pad Thai and Crispy Tofu. The service was excellent and we enjoyed all the food. I did take pictures but had trouble getting cell phone pictures to load into the Yelp app. There were only three tables of eat-in customers on Wednesday night, though they had a robust take-out business. This place is really good for the price, but can be a little greasy at times and sits pretty heavy in your stomach. With that being said I still really enjoy it and it is a great option for lunch on Saturday if you went out on Friday night. read more

The decor is dated and with the employees attire is confusion. I found myself sitting in the restaurant wondering who was and wasn't a waiter/waitress. The water tasted like tap water and the food was lukewarm. The rice stuck to itself creating huge clumps which wouldn't be a problem, but because it was warm it didn't taste the greatest. The General Tso's chicken was overcooked and the sauce they used was more like a thick molasses more than anything. The service was lacking and the waitress never properly introduced herself or asked if the food was good. It was nice to be left alone, but I feel she performed poorly. Overall I would avoid eating at China Foods, the food didn't taste good and while you get a lot of food for your money, I feel you can do better by going elsewhere. read more

I ordered delivery for the first time today. The fried wontons I ordered were a little dry, but still tasty. The chicken pad thai was incredibly lackluster. It was very bland and tasteless, and the chicken seemed a bit undercooked. Hands down the worst pad thai I've ever had. Even King Wok's is better, and there's isn't that great to begin with. The man who took my order on the phone was nice and polite. He told me that my order was $12 and change. The delivery driver was incredibly rude. He seemed like he was in a hurry and could care less about his job. I gave him a $20 bill and he reluctantly gave me $2 back and walked away before I could say anything. I was planning on tipping him anyways, but I wasn't planning on giving him a 50% tip. Will not be ordering from here anytime soon. If I do, I'll be paying via credit card. read more

I'd like to start this review by stating that the number of stars given is not a reflection on the food but the service. I have ordered from this place a few times and have been very satisfied by the quality of the food as well as the ample vegetarian options that are available. I also enjoy the fact that they deliver and are very quick in their delivery times. However, the last two times that I have ordered I have come across a very rude individual working there that was in a big hurry. So much so that he did not have the courtesy to go over my order and make sure that everything was pure vegetarian when asked. Being a vegetarian and having eaten at restaurants like this one for many years, I have learned to confirm everything on my order so that there is no meat that is accidentally included in my order. I was very put off by my experience today. The quality of the food and the prices are what keep me coming back, and I will consider reordering from here in the distant future.
