In town for business for a few days and though some of the reviews gave me pause with this location, I still gave it a try. With the initial call there was an issue as I had said lunch she proceeded to write in dinner prices. I mentioned the error and she adjusted the amount down for lunch. Though the total was significantly more than their lunch menu shows. Menu lunch prices totaled $16.40 and price charged was $21. In addition their lunch menu clearly stated Eggrolls or Crab Rangoon is included though none were added to the order. They show no delivery fee and I doubt sales tax could be $4.60 on a $16.40 price. Also though I had initially asked if I would pay on the phone or with the delivery person. To which she plead with me to use cash not charge, which being out of pocket I was hard pressed to gather. I amassed the necessary funds and paid upon delivery. Now being left with only coins on my person I had naught to offer to the deliverer though he vociferously requested a gratuity. After calculation I summed up the meal which should have cost $17.09 with tax included a significant tip if tallying the additional $2.40 for the missing Eggrolls netted the tip at $6.30. The food was ok and definitely nothing more than passable. Delivered timely and still hot. Would I recommend this establishment, I give it a maybe. Just check the prices first. read more

This is the worst Chinese food I have ever had! Complete garbage! Egg drop soup, wonton soup, crab rag goon, shrimp egg roll, St. Paul, Szechuan Delight, shrimp fried rice, fried shrimp. Everything was greasy, tasted burnt, overly salty, old tasting, barely warm. We got their flyer on our door so we gave it a try. Never again!!!! We are trying to get the taste out of our mouths!!! I am horrified by the delivery driver. My daughter in law placed an online order for both of us for a dear family friend who had lost her son a few days prior, so she did not have to cook dinner. My daughter in law SPECIFICALLY asked for a tip to be put on HER card and it was not. Our friend was accosted by the driver complaining about no tip. Somehow the driver must have dialed my daughter in law during delivery so she has a voicemail with the whole altercation on it. My friend said numerous times that she was not the one who placed the order and then told him she had just lost a family member, she ended up having to give him CASH out of her pocket, so the experience that should have helped a grieving mom ended up being a stressor and a bad experience. I am truly baffled by this. I understand tips are important i really do. But this is not ok. The tip was supposed to be there, it was the person that took the orders mistake and again my friend did not place the order. read more

I hate to bash a restaurant, especially during these very difficult times. However, the food we received from this establishment was SOOOO bad, I simply cannot hold my tongue. Since moving into the area, my husband and I have been looking for a new favorite Chinese restaurant. Last week, China King distributed flyers/menus and coupons to everyone in the neighborhood, so we thought we'd give it a go. We ordered hot braised chicken, Szechuan chicken, and crab rangoon. The hot braised chicken was neither hot nor braised... it consisted of low quality chicken nuggets which appeared to have been pulled from the freezer, heated up in a microwave, dumped in a styrofoam box, and then had this gummy, red, tasteless sauce poured over the top of some of them. There was no evidence of actual "cooking" whatsoever. The Szechuan chicken was not much better. The veggies were mushy and covered in a horrible brown sauce that was very thick, almost "globby". Overall, it had a very odd flavor to it and we're not sure whether the odd flavor was from the veggies or the sauce.... but I'm pretty sure it wasn't the chicken since there was precious little chicken in it. Finally the crab rangoon. This was actually the best part of the meal.... not because it was particularly good, but because it was the only part of the meal that appeared to have been prepared properly and at the time we ordered it. The rangoon were crisp on the outside and warm on the inside... which was absolutely shocking compared to the rest of the meal. Bottom line: Sorry, China King... we've had low-quality, poorly cooked Chinese food before, but what you served us last night was probably the worst we've ever had! read more

Our delivery experience with this restaurant was terrible. I the entrées we ordered we're tasty, In particular the Mushu pork was amazing! However they only gave us four pancakes (which is what the menu said) for way too much food. My biggest problem is with the fried appetizers. We ordered crab Rangoon, wontons, and eggrolls. They were all fried to the point of being inedible. I'm sorry I ordered from them and waited 45 minutes for this. It should have never left the kitchen. read more

This is the first time we have gone somewhere to pick up food that we threw the food away! It was horrible, so bad that even a one star is too good of a rating for it! After getting a FANCY 3 page, color ad in the mail, I decided to pick up some food on a Friday early afternoon, to enjoy later in the evening. I arrived at 2:20??? to the gal at the desk napping on the stools behind the desk. I didn't care, as I KNOW slow times can be that way. HOWEVER when I walked in she quickly jumped up, no sight of anyone else there in the kitchen. She IMMEDIATELY got on the phone, talking in Chinese to some one, NEVER acknowledging my presence, no "hello, I'll be with you in a moment" just completely IGNORING me. I KNEW what I wanted, stood there for better than 2 minutes, and with the fact she NEVER even acknowledged my presence??? I decided to leave :-( I guess the cook was gone and apparently she felt ignoring me was the best form of action she could think of. BUT talk about irritating??? Guess they shouldn't of bothered with the fancy flyers since apparently a paying customer didn't warrant recognition. NO, no and NO. read more

The small dining area had clean tables but the soy sauce bottle was filthy. The place seems a little bit run down. It's always a little scary when you see signs of extreme pennypinching all around you at a restaurant. The food was marginal at best. read more

I do not leave reviews, but oh my goodness! Ate here last week.. packaged nicely...then we opened the containers. Over cooked sesame chicken, and crab Rangoon both dry, chewy, and bad flavor. veggies were raw-not steamed as on menu, egg rolls were greasy and flavorless. Egg drop soup- dark in color. The worst I have ever had anywhere..we could not finish it.. first time- never again customer. Yikes! Hope you fix it. Good luck! read more

This place it out by my parents house. I've tried every Chinese place by my house and always I look forward to driving out to my parents so I can grab some orange chicken and lo mein for my grandma. I've been going here for nearly ten years now. It has started to look pretty run down over the years but they make some of the best and most consistent American Chinese food I've ever had. I almost always get the orange chicken and the chicken manages to stay crispy in the sauce every single time. Great food and great owners. read more

They provided 1 soy sauce packet for a fried rice order, chicken and mushroom order, and multiple appetizers. The flavor of the food was bland and pretty much tasteless. This place fails on many levels. I ordered take out through Door Dash. Not only did the order leak all over the drivers delivery bag but over my kitchen as well. They apparently refused to bag the entire order but left it as individual dishes. To make matters worse the order was screwed up, one item ordered was missing and substituted with another item. To be fair, I did receive a refund for the un ordered item but I was forced to return it to the restaurant and my delivery charge was not refunded. Finally, there is the food itself. Overly spiced is an understatement, this stuff could kill a herd of Yaks. Learned my lesson, never again. read more

Look, if you're looking for some quick solid Chinese food and are near highway K. Head here. This family is awesome. The food is excellent, I usually order general Tao chicken or sweet and sour chicken. But don't just pick the generic ones I do. Their whole menu is tasty! The worst service ive ever had. We made a simple order and they delivered us the wrong order. We called to tell them and have them send us a new one. They first yelled at me and the hung up. So i called again and they said we didnt get the wrong one. After 10 min of asking them to deliver new correct order they finally agreed. And it is has taken an hr to get it. The food was mediocre and the service was just plain awful. We even found a bug in our food. When we brought this to their attention they got even more obnoxious and refused to give us a refund. Your normal Chinese dive takeout. Nothing fancy at all about the place but service is friendly and the food is cooked to order. Like I said the place is what it's intended to be: a quick takeout joint with simple good food. One of the distinguishing items on the menu is the St. Paul sandwich which is not typically found in this part of town, and they make a pretty tasty one. read more

China King is one of my favorite restaurants. I've ordered 5 times this year, and 4 times have been excellent, 1 time was good. Even the good, was better than the guys at K&N. Portions are excellent, and they will tone down the spices if you request it. Delivery times have been consistently fast, and their curry is fantastic. A++ for take out or delivery! read more

Our first and last time eating here! We stopped in at 7pm to place a carry out order and were told by the unpleasant worker that it would take 30 minutes for our food to be ready. I've never had to wait more than 10 or 15 minutes at any Chinese takeout joint in my life. We left and came back 30 minutes later and they were just finishing up our order. When we got home we found that everything was over cooked! The beef kabobs were charred and as hard as beef jerky, the fried rice was bland and dry and the egg rolls were nasty! I will never patronize China King again. I will drive a few extra miles to West of Hunan on Jungermann road for the best Chinese food in town! China King sucks! read more

First off when I walked in the female employee was laying across chairs...very unprofessional. Then while I was looking at the menu she was staring at me and kept asking if I was ready (very rude) so I ordered a simple meal off of the lunch menu and it clearly states on the menu that it comes with an egg roll or 2 crab Rangoon and when I asked her about it she said "no, you don't get crab Rangoon." Me being in a hurry didn't feel like arguing with her but she was VERY rude! I will no longer be back, and have already told friends and they won't be back either! The steamed pot stickers were doughy and poorly flavored, crab rangoons had ONLY cream cheese, Mongolian beef was only vegetables and not spicy, and finally the general Tso's chicken was not spicy and only breading no meat! HORRIBLE!!! Placed a delivery order and was told it would take 15 minutes. We live 2 miles away and it took over an hour to get here. Had to call back twice and ask where our food was and all they kept saying was "we're very busy" and "it's on the way". Delivery guy finally showed and apologized for the wait but then told us that "people aren't working with us cause of the holiday". Maybe we would work with you a little better if we didn't have to wait over an hour for our food when we we're told only 15 minutes. Not to mention the food...the egg drop soup had no flavor, barely any egg, was orange in color rather than yellow and had the consistency of mushy gelatin instead of soup. The fried rice tasted like cardboard. The beef with broccoli tasted like it had frozen vegetables in it. And the fortune cookies we're so stale we basically had to rip them in half rather than break them. On the very small bright side, the lobster lo mein was decent.
