Well China Kitchen changed hands about a year after my original review calling themselves "New China Kitchen, then lasted a few years to only close about 6 months ago. This place then re-opened once again as "Express China Kitchen". The number associated with this places is wrong, but is the only one that comes up on a simple Google search...so ordering is tough...but i'm here for you (1-734-425-9888) They do have a number on the sign in front, but I always think about it after it is behind me, and when stopping in to order the other day, I didn't grab one of their cards. Now for the food, I ordered the sesame chicken (medium) and it was decent...not fantastic, not awful...just good. The white rice was dry but the won-ton soup was amazing. There was so much food I had enough to eat it for dinner the next day as well. All in all, this place is good and I will give it another go. read more

5 stars for a great $5 lunch special Ordered the broccoli and chicken combo, it was great - The sauce was just right, good amount of chicken, there was a lot of nice looking perfectly cooked fresh broccoli, a bit of fried rice, decent egg roll, and a fortune cookie and...a little fresh / hot doughnut in sugar! It was a great lunch for two and was ready pretty quick (under 10 mins). I look forward to another take out option vs my old favorite of china house inn :) read more

Best authentic Mexican food hands down, big portions and they are very clean would definitely recommend

Found this little gem after a day helping family. Pulled up and this place didn't look like much but wow!!! The food was delicious and the amount of food in the dinner combinations was enough for each person to eat at least 3 normal size meals. I highly recommend. Sorry that we live an hour away or this would be our go to Chinese restaurant. We would definitely order again when we come back out this way! Give it a try, you won't be sorry read more

I love this place! You get a ton of great food for a great price! I've eaten from this place quite a few times, and I always get the same thing: Shezuan Chicken dinner combo. The first time I ordered from there and went to pick up my order, the lady there heard me say, "Holy shit this container is heavy!" as I was walking out the door. She kind of giggled and in her broken English softly and politely said, "Oh this must be your first time ordering from here?" So I can only assume they pretty much give you a ton of food regardless of what you order,...like I said, I've only had the Shezuan Chicken from this place to date. Aside from the shear quantity of the food that you get for the price, the quality is damn good too! The sauce they used on the Shezuan Chicken is pretty damn awesome, the rice has a good consistency, and they actually make their food spicy when you ask them too!(FYI - Most Chinese places I've tried in the area have no idea how to make their food spicy, and I eat a lot of Chinese food!) read more

From a quality perspective, this is pretty average Chinese carryout. From a quantity perspective, the portions are MASSIVE! I would order again but there were some odd things about this place. The general Taos chicken does not at all taste like any other place, it's just really different. The chicken lo mein was made with rice noodles instead of lo mein noodles. Sweet and sour pork was really good and the egg rolls were average. The other really odd thing was the fresh donuts that came with the order. Very comprehensive menu with a large selection. The ability to not only order online but customize the spiciness levels of dishes is a nice addition. Also, the ability to swap white rice for brown rice and portion sizes are a great bang for your buck. One of the best, quick places in the area to get take-out! We've ordered from here multiple times and it's always something we try giving places a couple chances the first time we ordered the food it was amazing but are now finding out they gave me sweet-and-sour shrimp not the fried shrimp dinner second time we ordered food they didn't call us until after one of the meals was completely finish to tell us they didn't have the lemon sauce for the lemon chicken they don't take names/numbers for orders iv picked up wrong orders because if this and realized before i left the parking lot the food is good but I'm so sick of it always being something make sure you check the bag in store read more

The best Chinese Take out in Michigan. I pick it up at least once a month. Great customer service and they treat their repeat customers very well. My favorite item on the menu is the Beef Udon. They definitely use high quality tender beef. I also love their egg drop soup on those cold winter days. They really only do take out, so be sure to call 20 minutes ahead to place your order and then pick it up. Often they give me fried fritters coated in granulated sugar. my bf and i got some food from here bc i was craving chinese food and the food was sooo so so bad. there was absolutely no flavor to anything, it was all just so bland, even the color. we both got the sesame chicken and the chicken was okay-ish but the rice might as well have been plain white rice even though it was supposed to be fried rice?? i also got a shrimp and scallop meal but it was just a big container of 97% bean sprouts and 3% tiny shrimp?? and it was just all in a lot of some kind of soupy sauce that was also bland (and it was also in a regular takeout container so the sauce was all over everything else in the bag) so idk if they gave me the wrong thing or what but there were definitely no scallops or noodles like there were supposed to be. ALSO i got the egg drop soup bc normally i looove egg drop soup. it was disgusting to say the least. it was like jello. and again, no flavor whatsoever and barely any egg. it was like a big container of gross jello with yellow food coloring. worst place i've ever had food from. please please please don't waste your money like i did and just look for somewhere else. read more

Boneless BBQ ribs- not my thing. Yuck :( it's pork slices then basted in a sweet red BBQ type sauce... Not my thing. Chicken lomein very very sparse on the chicken. The noodles were very thin. The dish reminded me of ramen noodles . The dish had a deep chicken broth flavor. I've nor had lomein like this. Usually I've had it with a thicker noodle, veggies- chicken and a light oil/ broth taste. So note that this place may not make ro mein like you've had it somewhere else. The veggie fried rice was faaaaaaantastic. So good. Loads of my fave veggies- they omitted veggies I don't eat. Soooo good and coded perfectly. All around this place is a huge win! We got the Szechuan chicken combo with fried rice and an egg roll, the sweet and sour chicken combo with the same, crab Rangoon, and a quart of hot and sour soup. They also gave us these AMAZING cookies that tasted like almond cookies. No option for delivery just yet, but when I called (during peak dinner hours on a Sunday) the line was busy, so the ability to order online was AMAZING. We had no issues with our order being messed up, everything was extremely fresh. For my Szechuan chicken the veggies were still nice and crunchy which was great. Also, as usual, the quantity was INSANE! So much food! The prices were also really fair. I'd easily pay more for food that good. They separated the sauce from the sweet and sour chicken, which is always so nice. They were also great about social distancing according to my husband-everyone has a mask and they weren't having people use pens at all even. Even my husband, who isn't too crazy about most Chinese places due to lack of quality said it's the best place he's been! We will certainly be back. 10/10! read more

Love the sesame chicken. Real chicken and the fried rice was really good. Wish there was more sauce on the sesame chicken though. I got a dinner combo and the portion was huge. Love it! Chicken lo mein was different from what I expected with the small noodles. Good amount of veggies in it too. Egg roll was also tasty. I got some plum sauce too. All good! It's a small place with 2 tables that you could eat at, but it's cramped and I wouldn't. There's a small counter where you pay for your food. Seemed fairly clean and the people were nice. The food was so flavorful, the portion sizes were big, and the prices were very reasonable. The free doughnuts were delicious too. The customer service I received was excellent. I have visited this low end dive chinese food place hundreds of times. Prior times, the 2 owners, were eager to appeal to my tastes and interests and often allowed me to divert from the established menu and ask for special changes. Because of dental issues, I prefer to have meat and vegetables sliced or chopped into smaller strips/pieces. Every time I've been there before, they were keen on working with me. So saturday April 27th, One time, myself and my wife visit and I attempt to place my special order and the lady yells at me at the top of her lungs "NO SLICE"... It was embarrassing and annoying. I admit I went overboard and cussed them both out. I am sorry about that but its over and done with. I pledge to myself that I would never again go there as not just this one time, but many times the customer service has gone downhill, the quality of the produce has gone downhill, and the quality of product has gone downhill. I have no clue what their issues are. I've often spent $40 every visit there... likely well over thousands of dollars over the 8yrs I've eaten there. At least a few times I've suffered borderline food poisoning from them. I can tolerate them no longer. Best Chinese in Livonia. Huge portions. They include doughnuts in their order. Also, they make the real spicy mustard and chili oil sauce in house - usually a sign of good Chinese food. Items I've had that I thought were great: General Tso's, Hot and Sour, Beef Szechuan, Specialty Fried Rice, and Dumplings. One negative is their Thai offerings. stay away from those. read more

The owners are the nicest people. Whenever I come in the both come out to say hello and they seem so excited to see me again. The food is not greasy, but it can be bland sometimes. Very good price for what you get. This is the only place I go to around here for Chinese food. I can hear my food being made fresh right now!
