I went yesterday for my 3 rd time which I go back because its good. I ordered a tray of egg rolls and a beef dinner. My kids and I bite into it and it tasted so bad and what I mean by bad like the actual veggies and stuff you use inside went bad and old. Like biting into a big piece of moldy bread. Everything I tried everything and it all tasted the same. I tried to do the right thing and call and say I would drive all the miles back and give food back so they didn't think I was scamming. All she did was scream at me on phone telling me no nothing is wrong and the words I did understand. I said ill bring back just make me it when you get new stuff in maybe because virus can't get a lot of things I don't know. She just screamed and said no and I told her I like this place and ordered before and won't come back and she said ok. Im trying to support you guys in the corona virus but that is unacceptable and had to throw in garbage and haven't felt good since yesterday. So im warning anyone else so they do not get sick. I've reviewed this place before, I just had to do it again. This is without a doubt my favorite Chinese carry out. Lots of really good food. I love Tso's. This is some of best around, reasonably priced, and you get tons of food. You'd have to be one hell of an eater to finish the lunch size, even. Have you been searching high and low for a cheap Chinese takeout joint that isn't crap or overpriced? If you're in the Livonia-Detroit/Livonia border, look no further Yelpers! At Middlebelt and Six Mile, there is a gem from the non-authentic orient that truly will rock your socks. Last night I ordered a General Tso's dinner platter and crab rangoon. It was a few minutes before closing, but the lady at thw counter was still welcoming. She asked how spicy I wanted it, which was a nice gesture. I asked how long it would be and she said 10 minutes. Well, it ended up being about 30. There had been a customer before me who made a very large order, and then there was issues with the credit card he was trying to use, so I do not hold the wait against them. When she handed me the bag, I already knew this place was special. It was HEAVY, and yet I had only ordered one dinner and an appetizer. Once I got home, I figured out why it was so heavy - the portion was HUGE. A dinner combo could easily feed 2-3 people, and not even a seriously gluttonous person could finish it in one sitting. The General Tso's Chicken was very good. It had large chunks of chicken, plenty of fried rice and since I requested spicy, it had a nice kick. The egg roll that came with it was interesting - the filling was ground meat and heavy on the bean sprouts. It wasn't the greatest egg roll I have ever had, but it did the trick. Dinner also came with 2 Chinese donuts which were om nom nom. The crab ragoon, though. Holy soy sauce, these things were good!!! They were huge and filled with plenty of imitation crab/cream cheese goodness. These were definitely the best crab ragoon ever... and you must try them. You must. Back to that dinner combo... I had plenty of leftovers, so I had a bowl for breakfast and a bowl for lunch, and it was almost as good as it was last night. For a $8.95 combo, this was such a good value. China Kitchen is the only takeout place I am going to for now on. They even have some Thai dishes, which I look forward to trying. You can tell they take pride in their work and they don't just slap something together, for that I am happy to support this local business. Keep up the awesome work China Kitchen! So I have been back twice since my original review and the food has not been the same as my first time. The second time I went I'm sure the chicken was reheated. The chicken was dry and the breaking was not crispy as it was the first time. The third time was similar the chicken did not have the same juicy on the inside crispy on the outside taste. The sauce is still good but doesn't matter if the chicken isn't. I'm downgrading to 3 stars because the first time was so good, so I know this place has the ability to deliver good food, they just need to stick with preparing fresh. I have been here two or three times this year and I think they are quite good. I am EXTREMELY picky about General Tso's chicken, and in general I dont like most Chinese places. I'm tired of all these old dumpy restaurants around town that have been operating since 1974, with the same crappy decor from 1974, that make General Tso's chicken a sickly sweet soggy sludge. Now, China Kitchen Express is just a carryout place, and these guys do the General right...crispy and the perfect amount of zing. And very generous portions. The chef has cooked at other notable places around town so I get the impression he has a modern understanding of taste. I wish him the best of luck, he has my vote! read more

After just one meal from here I can tell you for certain I will be back. I ordered the #12 dinner combo and my wife ordered the #3 along with egg drop soup and vegetable soup. The servings were HUGE! I am pretty big eater and ate probably half of my dinner. The total price was $20 and compared to other places we have tried I think it is very fair. Just ordered dinner from here. Super easy to order online. It's right by my house and had great reviews already so I decided to give it a shot. Ordered 3 entrees because my family likes variety but did not expect SO MUCH food!! Large takeout containers stuffed with food! When they presented a box to carry to food home I was surprised. They included many delicious sauces without my asking and even surprised us with a dozen donuts! Everything was delicious and we will have leftovers for days. The egg rolls are large and the crab Rangoon has chunks of crab that you can actually see, chew and taste. The chicken is real chunks of white chicken. This place has been through a couple of owners, but the most recent are by far the best. I think some of the older critical reviews are related to past ownership. Now the food is exactly what you are looking for hot, fresh, flavorful, and a good value. I frequently eat their chow mein, and kung pao chicken.
