We love eating at China Lounge! Their food is authentic Chinese cuisine, especially their flavorful and spicy Sichuan-style dishes. Everything we've tried is delicious, full of flavor, and very satisfying. Whenever we're craving authentic Sichuan food, this is one of our favorite places to come. We have to come back every once in a while to enjoy our favorite dishes. Definitely a great place for anyone who loves authentic, spicy, and flavorful Chinese food!

#chinaloungesanramon The food was very fresh and delicious. We got a side of chow mein noodles. The Thai tea came with a frozen tea bear very cute. Definitely will be back to try many more menu items.

Very nice service. We went on a Tuesday night around 7pm and the food came out extremely quickly. The taste is great and very classic Chinese tasting. We ordered light spicy and the spice level was great!

One of my favorite places to get Chinese food in the area! I usually go here for lunch with my coworkers. The restaurant is bright and spacious - we haven't had to wait. Service has been quick as well. Our go-to dishes are: - boiling fish - mild spicy, but can be oily and heavy. They can drain the oil for you if you have leftover and take it to go. - salted egg fried rice: I don't usually order fried rice at restaurants, but this is always an exception! The pork floss, seaweed, and salted egg combination makes it very yummy - Mala fried chicken - not too spicy either. Nice mala tingles in bite size chicken pieces. Overall would recommend!

The location used to be one of my favorite Shanghainese restaurants but it probably changed owner so it's now Sichuan food. Even before going my friend told me that there really isn't too many choices for good Chinese food around the area so my expectations wasn't that high. Even so I don't think it gives you a good value for the quality of the food. First, I know it's a Sichuan restaurant but even so it has probably the weirdest Mongolian beef I've ever had as they fried the beef. The Boiling Beef is much better but nothing to write home about. Basically everything I had was so so. The frog was not fresh. And the best is probably the cabbage dry pot which is ironic because it's literally the easiest dish. Overall for the price I would say it's worth even 3 stars. I'm giving it this rating just because this area is so lacking in Chinese food. Service is alright and I could tell right away the people working there are not from the Sichuan area. The biggest redeeming value is that they don't automatically add big tip for large group. It's however really expensive for what you get. Overall it's a restaurant that you only go if you live around the area but avoid if you live closer to better places in the Bay Area.

first time coming here with lots of friends. place is quite spacious with good ambiance. staffs are nice and attentive. i think china lounge is not a new restaurant, but even when they were in pleasanton before, i have not tried the foods yet. anyway, overall foods taste great, not too oily, but i just want to give a bit comment to the soup that need a bit hotter in temperature mostly we ordered stewed beef brisket soup. prices are average and if you are a chinese foods lover, do not skip this restaurant...

You must try their Spicy Chicken 辣子鸡, boiling fish沸腾鱼， orange chicken/beef 橙皮鸡/牛and etc. They are fabulous and once you have tried it...you will get cravings for it again and again!! Best deal in the San Ramon! Good quality at about 33% lower cost compared to other neighborhood spots. Most people take out, as the restaurant is very big nor attractive. I ordered the Grilled fish and pickled peppers pork tripe are very delicious, moreover the price are the total reasons to try it. I recommend for no frills and good value. read more

First time here and I would say it's different from an average go to Chinese restaurant for rush-hour lunch. Options on the menu seem to be more of traditional Chinese dishes. I didn't see an option for Szechuan beef so I went for spicy chicken instead. The food came with blanched potato strings on the side and they don't serve soup of the day or wontons on the side, however, you do have the option of paying extra for additional appetizers. Personally, I was NOT a fan of my lunch plate. The chicken tasted OK but was hard to eat given all the bones inside the meat, the other ingredient in the dish, I think it was peppercorn and Szechuan chilies, made the dish bitter for me. The tea was literally not my cup of tea! I believe it was some sort of tea with the flower buds steeped and reminded me of those small flowers you pick from the grass. This gives you a bitter, lingering aftertaste and barely got through one cup. Overall service was good. They greeted you at the front and bring it to your table. The ambience was a bit busy for a lunchtime and there was lots of tables in the restaurant. There are interesting dishes on the menu and if you're up for adventurous food, I would say give it a go. For me, I think I'll pass this place in the future. read more

Really like this place. Close to home and the food is fresh. We order the spicy lamb with cumin & the seafood clay pot. I enjoyed the seafood clay pot as there was a lot of seafood with calamari, shrimp, scallops, fish & fried tofu along with 2 types of mushroom and veggies. It was a good sized dish for the price. Food was delicious. Best Chinese meal I've had in a long while. Service was great and they kindly added hot peppers to my dish, at my request, which were not normally included. Their menu also has a "American/Chinese" section for people who do want the authentic experience. I ignored that section. It was lunch time and there were many Asians dining, which is a very good sign you've come to the right place. Ambiance was nice as well, being relatively quiet despite a good crowd. Numerous videos played with one showing how ingredients are prepared from scratch. This is my new go to for great Chinese food. read more

Food and service was amazing. The lunch specials were delicious. Twice cooked pork was very well seasoned and the wok hay was spot on. A little bit on the oily side but it's pork belly so that's expected. Having the broccoli on the side was a good palate cleanser. The seafood pot was huge. Lots of seafood (fish, shrimp, scallop and calamari) and the sauce was delicious, pairs perfectly with steamed rice. We added the eggplant starter and it was perfectly fried and came out piping hot, next time will ask for the sauce on the side. Overall good portions and pricing! I came in for the lunch special because both the online menu and the menu inside the restaurant showed that it included soup and an appetizer with the listed meals. However, the employee told me the appetizer was no longer included. If that is the case, the menus should be updated instead of advertising something customers will not receive. I still ordered two meals for takeout, but when I got back to the office, I discovered that they had only included one small chili sauce for both meals and no spoon for the soup--just two forks. These may seem like small details, but they reflect a lack of care and attention, especially for a takeout order. The food itself was only average. It lacked flavor, did not look very appealing, and some of it had a strange smell. I have eaten here in the past, and the quality and taste are definitely not what they used to be. I honestly do not understand the high rating. The portions may be large, but I would rather have better flavor, quality, and accurate service. I would not order from here again.

4.75 stars So good…read more Wasn't sure about the concept, restaurant/convenience store combo. Totally changed my mind after my 1st visit. Perfect atmosphere, a blend of chic and casual, cozy but also classy. A mix of mom and pop retro plus stylish and trendy that shouldn't work but does. Comfortable banquette seating. Tiny, only about 8 tables with seating for about 2 dozen people. Love the color scheme of medium brown (walnut?) wood, sage green padded seats and warm gold tableware. A shelf filled with books lines the walls over the banquettes. Windows only cover the top half of the walls on 2 sides but they run the whole length of the dining room. This makes it light and airy but also sheltered, with privacy from passerby. Cooks in the kitchen are very skilled. Well curated recipes using the best quality ingredients. Food is very tasty. Only 1 item that I personally didn't care for, the non-spicy tteobokki. And that's only because a surfeit of shitake mushrooms give me a headache from too much umami. Other dishes that contained less shitake didn't bother me. But the standouts are fab. Absolutely loved the fried cheese balls, ever so slightly sweet like mochi and stretchy like mozzarella. Only wish it came with a sauce to cut thru the richness. Also loved the japchae. Preferred the beef over the chicken. Beef was super tender. Both versions had lots of tender but crisp veggies and sweet potato glass noodles. Another fave was the pancake. No skimping on the filling. So yummy. Ordered the veggie but got the seafood by mistake. Staff was very gracious and made the veggie version, gifting me the seafood one gratis. The dolsot with the short ribs was another winner. Lots of veggies. The short ribs were a few extra $. Very lightly seasoned, add gochujang pepper paste to taste. For me loved it as is. Finally the banchan were all excellent, especially the carrots, fishcakes, and sprouts. This time we ordered the Pork Katsu, Spicy Topokki, Cheese Balls, and Dumpling Soup. Everything was good--until we got to the Topokki. At first I thought something in the dish tasted off. I tried the rice cakes again, and they tasted perfectly fine. I even wondered if maybe my taste buds were just off that day. Then my daughter said, "Something tastes weird." A moment later, my wife said the same thing. So we started tasting the ingredients one by one. Suddenly my daughter said, "Eww," and held up a piece of cabbage on her spoon, asking me to smell it. My wife, who was sitting next to her, smelled it first and immediately said the cabbage had gone bad. I'm particularly sensitive to spoiled food because I have frequent stomach issues. In fact, my family teases me because I habitually smell food before eating it. When I smelled the cabbage, I immediately agreed--it had the unmistakable smell of spoiled cabbage. Instead of acknowledging the possibility, she confidently told us, loudly enough that nearby tables could hear, that the chef had checked it and that the cabbage was fine. She suggested the smell was simply from the sauce mixed with the cabbage. That response was honestly disappointing and insulting. My wife and I are both Korean and in our 50s. We've eaten countless Topokki dishes over our lifetimes. We know the difference between fermented flavors and cabbage that has gone bad. I wasn't looking for free food or even an apology. Restaurants make mistakes--that happens. Food occasionally slips through despite everyone's best efforts. What matters is how those situations are handled. I actually wanted this restaurant to succeed. It's new, it's close to my office, and after my first visit I was already recommending it to family and planning to return regularly. A simple, "We're sorry. We'll check it," would have been enough. Instead, they immediately and loudly dismissed our concern. It's unfortunate, because the food itself was quite good. But after the way this was handled, I don't see myself coming back.
