First off, we have our "GO TO" Chinese restaurant. With that said, we are always looking for a new place to try! I am glad we did, very friendly staff. Answered our questions very well. We usually order both chow mein and fried rice. Luckily our waiter told us you are getting a lot of fried rice. Glad he talked us out of the chow mein (my wife's favorite) next time we'll try that! I'm back for the spicy chicken, in addition an order of beef pancake. I had enjoyed these dishes as once before. The spicy chicken is comparable to other places. There's the consistency in prep and taste. And the beef pancake where other places may call it beef roll. It's served in a flaky sesame bread with hoisin sauce. Other than a slice that breaking up, no complains. The service was alright, not necessarily attentive but met my needs. The food is good and reasonably priced. I will be back for more. read more

These may seem like small details, but they reflect a lack of care and attention, especially for a takeout order. The food itself was only average. It lacked flavor, did not look very appealing, and some of it had a strange smell. I have eaten here in the past, and the quality and taste are definitely not what they used to be. I honestly do not understand the high rating. The portions may be large, but I would rather have better flavor, quality, and accurate service. I would not order from here again.

You don't want to take your date here. And this is not what it's supposed to be. We order here once a week. In between, I think the test went a little bit different, which might be because of the Chef change. But it's still OK. The price went up quite a few times, but it's still OK. So altogether, I think it's still OK Resturant. There is no vibe. And it's not Insta worthy. But if you want to have a comfort dinner, you must go here. The restaurant was technically closed for a staff lunch and reset for dinner. The front door was unlocked only to let stragglers like me and another table out after finishing our meal. The server was nice and let the family stay. Great customer service isn't the only reason for the 4 stars. AW has amazing value lunch deals. Love the simple stirfries best. Healthy but tasty. Lots of quality veggies. Highly enjoyed the veggie and shrimp stirfry. The string bean beef is also yummy. My sister thinks their hot and sour soup is great. I love the crunchy woodear mushrooms while she likes the flavor. We both appreciate the kitchen not skimping on the tofu, bamboo shoots and egg. Not everything is a favorite tho. Tried the mushu for takeout once. Didn't enjoy AZ's version. Also didn't enjoy their veggie eggrolls. Wrapper was good and crispy but veggie filling was oddly mushy. Happy to find Amazing Wok as our regular neighborhood place closed recently. AW is a few miles further but it is now our "go to" Chinese American restaurant. Will gladly return to explore the extensive menu.

They were also very quick to clear things away and I got the impression they wanted us out ASAP so they could free up the table.

Seems to get busy during the evening when most people are getting off work .

Perfect atmosphere, a blend of chic and casual, cozy but also classy. A mix of mom and pop retro plus stylish and trendy that shouldn't work but does. Comfortable banquette seating. Tiny, only about 8 tables with seating for about 2 dozen people. Love the color scheme of medium brown (walnut?) wood, sage green padded seats and warm gold tableware. A shelf filled with books lines the walls over the banquettes. Windows only cover the top half of the walls on 2 sides but they run the whole length of the dining room. This makes it light and airy but also sheltered, with privacy from passerby. Cooks in the kitchen are very skilled. Well curated recipes using the best quality ingredients. Food is very tasty. Only 1 item that I personally didn't care for, the non-spicy tteobokki. And that's only because a surfeit of shitake mushrooms give me a headache from too much umami. But the standouts are fab. Absolutely loved the fried cheese balls, slightly sweet like mochi and stretchy like mozzarella. Only wish it came with a sauce to cut thru the richness. Also loved the japchae. Preferred the beef over the chicken. Beef was super tender. Both versions had lots of tender but crisp veggies and sweet potato glass noodles. Another fave was the pancake. No skimping on the filling. So yummy. Ordered the veggie but got the seafood by mistake. Staff was very gracious and made the veggie version, gifting me the seafood one gratis. The dolsot with the short ribs was another winner. Lots of veggies. The short ribs were a few extra $. Very lightly seasoned, add gochujang pepper paste to taste. For me loved it as is. But don't get me started on the prize at the bottom of the bowl. Perfectly crispy rice crust, golden brown but not burned. Delish. Finally the banchan were all excellent, especially the carrots, fishcakes, and sprouts. Didn't care for the hot soup but only because it is currently the height of summer with temps ranging from 99 to 104! The Napa cabbage kimchi appears to be a staple. All other banchan seem to rotate. Can't stop raving about Chingu Superette. Been here 4x in the last month, so basically once a week. Will definitely be a regular. Im obsessed. Be back soon to explore the rest of the menu.

That expectation of polish and readiness should be table stakes, not an aspiration. As for the food - the champaran mutton was the one bright spot and genuinely good. Everything else ranged from forgettable to underwhelming. For what you're paying, that's not good enough. Wouldn't rush back.
