I usually don't even care for orange chicken but, this one was SO GOOD!!! Way better than Panda Express!!!! I want some more!!!! The chow mein was really good too!!! TERRIYAKI CHICKEN PLATE: 9/10 I'm not east to please when it comes to teriyaki chicken. There's just so many ways it can be made so badly. But, I was impressed with this one. It reminded me of the Yoshinoya teriyaki chicken minus the chicken skin. Their teriyaki sauce was on the watery side though... SERVICE: It was OK. Felt like rush hour the movie!! We DoorDashed this order tonight. This is the first time we had China One cuisine so we tried a few dishes. We ordered the Hot & Sour Soup, the Seafood Soup, Chicken Lettuce Wraps and Sesame Beef with Chow Mein Noodles. You get a lot of food for your money. The soups are hearty with a good amount of seafood in each. The hot & sour exhibits a little heat and a little sour so it delivered on its name. The bitchen surprise was the amount of seafood in this soup. The sesame beef does not travel well as its crisp turned to goo. Still tasty and enough for 2 meals. The chow mein was very good and to my surprise there was a shitload of it in the container. It was the lettuce wraps that gave us the desire to order from them. Again, a lot of food which translates to 2 meals, perhaps 3. We only had a spoonful of the Seafood Soup. We will have a bowl tomorrow for lunch. The small amount we tried was good. I ate here last Tuesday since I was in the area and the food was great!! I love that the chicken was lightly breaded and white meat on their sweet n sour chicken. It also had very light sauce on it. Not drenched, just a light dab of the sauce on there. Vegetables were fresh and crunchy as well. The rice and noodles had very good flavor.... the fried rice tasted a lot like white pepper, very distinct and I love that you could taste a hint of that fore seared taste. read more

This time around I ordered the Orange Chicken Lunch Special with half Chow Mein and half Fried Rice, and a Thai Tea Boba drink. Since they give you big portions of food I didn't order the individual Orange Chicken and Fried Rice this time around. As expected the food was nice and hot and smelled so good when I got it. But, every time I go in this restaurant they NEVER serve the meals at our table at the same time, one person eats while the other sits and watches them eat for 10-20 minutes. I've come in to China One to eat lunch 4 times, every single time I've arrived with the same male friend and sometimes we've both ordered the same thing and other times we've ordered different meals, but every single time this restaurant serves my friend his meal immediately and takes 10-20 minutes to serve my food. It's ridiculous. I've always been patient, I never complained before but today finally asked them why they never serve our food at the same time, they just said, "we cook it now". What? Why?? I said, "You need to serve both people at the same time, every restaurant around does that, otherwise you have one customer eating (or letting their food get cold if they're polite) and another getting angry." We were craving spicy chicken wings and anything with shrimp and decided to visit China One on 79 parkway located right across from Home Depot and The Habit Burger Grill. We ordered the additional food items: * Spicy Chicken Wings * Shrimp Chow Mein * Shrimp Fried Rice * Honey Walnut Shrimp The food was not that bad and it was appetizing. Of all the items we've ordered, the shrimp chow mein came out on top. It was less greasy and the savory teriyaki sauce in the noodles was distinctive. Ensure to ask for the chili sauce which complements well with the noodles and fried rice if one prefers a few kicks on each bite. Although keep in mind the chili sauce olive oil was somewhat spicier at this place, which is not a bad thing. Rule of advice for the front service clerks in the cashier area could kick it up a notch when it comes to greeting customers and a quick smile would not hurt either. Everything was good but not comparable to other Chinese food restaurants in San Diego. But it's worth mentioning that we enjoyed the food here and will likely return in the future. read more

Let me say that I order from here often as it's the most decent Chinese close to me. I'm from the east coast so need I say more. In over 10 years I've been able to find ONE decent Chinese restaurant in California and it's NOT in LA or San Francisco. Chinatown of SF was a huge disappointment. Today I ordered a Thai dish. Lesson learned. Order Thai food from Thai restaurant ONLY! It was edible but definitely NOT Thai. I should have known better as we started eating Thai food upon moving to Cali because of the disgusting Chinese food. I'm hungry so eating but will dispose of the rest.
