They have good takeout or if you order off the menu. The buffet is old tasting, similar taste of leftovers. The portions are weird when you order at night it's expensive but you get enough food for a week. Lunch is the right amount for the right price. read more

Food here is excellent. However the attitude of the owner is not. When I arrived at the restaurant at 9:10 p.m. I was told that I could get takeout food only, the kitchen is closed. How do you make takeout if the kitchen is closed? You close at 10 p.m. You and your staff are going to sit here for 50 minutes not making any money. The owner said, we close dining room because we have no customer. No actually you do, we're standing right here. But you definitely don't now cause I won't be coming back. Perhaps if you let the customer in and sit down you would have some? If you want to close at 9 p.m. then do so. But I don't understand the business tactic of turning away customers. My husband and daughter each like a different Chinese restaurant in town but when it is my turn to choose I ALSO pick China Palace. read more

This is THE only place in Midland for good chinese food that acutally is not americanized and dulled down. You can order just about any of the things on the menu with the fried Tofu, and it is so good and I love it so much since being a vegetarian. There is always so much to eat and I never leave feeling hungery, My family is good friends with the people that run the buisness, since we have been going there since i was a baby about 20 some years ago. Best chinese restaurant in Midland and probably the only one that serves alcohol (full bar). Service is always good. Very good quality and portion size ordering from the menu. The lunch buffet is good tasting, but much smaller than other buffets. We like to order off the menu. The ambience and decor is much nicer than other chinese restaurants. read more

This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in Midland. It is old style, so if you are looking for a hip, urban, edgy experience, this is not for you. However, if you are seeking a meal that is what people used to see back in the day, this restaurant has that retro atmosphere and in our experience the meals are always tasty. read more

Last month we placed a take out dinner order of Singapore noodles and chicken fried rice and it was so delicious and awesome taste. Recommend to give the Singapore noodles a try. It had a lot of veggies and chicken and overall high quantity. read more

Oh yeah! We are BACK in Midland and BACK to China Palace. We lived in the Indianapolis area, and while we did like Mark Pi's (see review) and Rice Cooker (Zionsville), we couldn't find the specific tastes we love from China Palace. Couldn't wait to get back to our favorite Chinese Food! read more

I do not believe the positive reviews regarding this restaurant are a factual representation of the actual dining experience. perhaps our family has been spoiled after dining at the great wall in mount pleasant but I assure you this review is a fair one of our experience. After reading a number of reviews on various chinese restaraunts in the midland area we decided on the china palace. first of all the atmosphere of the restaurant leaves a bit to be desired but certainly not a huge issue, service from our waitress was fine. The food and price is the biggest disappointment of the experience. Most of our family was displeased with the quality of the food, the flavors were not very good at all, in fact the only things we agreed to be acceptable were the rice and shrimp. Perhaps a tad funny was the insult to injury, after being able to only finish 1/2 to 3/4 of the meal was the bill. 4 buffet (only one visit each...by choice), 2 pop and a tea the bill was $52 plus some change And tip. Other chinese restaurants have 6 times the buffet size the prices are cheaper say $30ish and food quality keeps you coming back again and again. This was our first visit and after this dining experience i can assure you it is our last. read more
