This place is so new that it doesn't even exist on Google yet! It's in the old Ponderosa building, only now it's exclusively a buffet. We stopped in for lunch to give it a try. It's about $15 per person, and that doesn't include a drink (I think drinks were like $3). Lunch does not appear to be any cheaper than dinner. I would have given 4 stars if it weren't for the price; I think that was quite steep for what we got. I think just including drinks would go a long way to make this price point a little better. The salad bar was pretty extensive, including toppings like radishes and cottage cheese with assorted fruits. There was a build-your-own pasta station that I didn't get a chance to try, and then lots of your standard American foods- pork chops, (tiny!) ribs, mac and cheese (which was actually amazing), two types of green beans, etc. Everything was decent but not great except the mac n cheese. Then the dessert table was pretty great- I loved the bread pudding! There were lots of choices, including staples like cheesecake and brownies, but also more interesting choices like orange Fanta pudding. All in all, I would absolutely return if the price lowered just a bit, but otherwise I'll stick to the casino when looking for a buffet- it's more expensive, but definitely higher quality. read more

I expected a lot more from this place I can definitely see they are trying to make fresher food then the old ponderosa the salad bar looked like everything was real fresh so that was good the desert bar was the same old same ole with the exception of the root beer float (bonus) but the hot buffet was almost exactly the same as the old ponderosa except they had way I mean way way better wings they were real and real good to so if they keep that up I will be going back for sure . And oh yea it wasn't too expensive with tip two of us ate for $40 we tipped pretty good tho. read more

This was my first time eating at this new Restaurant, Stocky Bulls, formerly Ponderosa. One thing I really enjoyed and considered a plus was they had a serving line which had a clear plastic window between the guest and the food, just like you will find in most hospital cafeterias (HUGE PLUS for me). The entire restaurant was very clean and tidy, the servers were very polite, pleasant & professional, the food was very good just as good as I would have prepared at home. As for price i found them to be very reasonable as a senior the base price was 12. I am assuming my coffee was extra which was not a huge surprise it's a common practice. Our server was very attentive with our needs and kept my coffee cup full. We do do plan on returning. read more

Worse food I have ever had. Bland. No seasoning. Pork chop was like a sole of a shoe. Staff was young kids who do not know how to serve. Extra charge for a pop. You dont serve yourself which is the whole purpose of a buffet. Went in the bathroom. Big mistake. Falling apart. Old. Has not been updated in centuries. DO NOT GO HERE! This place is way over priced. The food was either dry or tasteless and the pork was still raw. Our waitress hardly paid any attention to our table or the surrounding tables. The server at the dessert counter appeared irritated when I asked her for some ice cream. Lastly, I observed some of the servers behind the buffet line eating from the buffet while still behind it. The stocky bulls gets a 3.5/3.75 from me. They have a TON of potential in this area. If not everything was bbq flavored save a few items on the buffett. We'd be sold to come back. Chicken is a tad dry. Green beans are from a can and again too much bbq. The dessert however was EXCELLENT. And id come back for that cheesecake. And the fudge you could sell by the piece! It looks clean so far and the price is reasonable for take out. Fix the food and ill be in every week!!! read more

We've been driving past this place for a month and decided to stop in. Its clean and inviting.. Food leaves something to be desired. But it is a buffet so I didn't expect porterhouse. The staff I have to say is absolutely excellent. They have great staff who were very kid friendly and made the experience great. Food was still lacking tho unfortunately. Excellent staff. read more

I have to give this a star of my review won't go thru. This is the worse piss bore restaurant in Mt. Pleasant. Serves sucks management is a joke. Everybody stands around does nothing and doesn't interact w tables. Not one table touch. Food was a .5 out of 10 I had to complain about old food sitting on buffet. They have too many young kids that either get no training or just don't know how to work in a restaurant. The food was as good as a cheap buffet can be - not bad, not great, just mediocre. But they are missing key ingredients in the staffing and procedures. From a personnel standpoint there is zero organization and no one seems to be in charge. The waitstaff were friendly, that's about as good as it gets. It's a horribly run business that could be really good with a few specific changes. read more

I didn't like the services and the food was nasty cold and dried out meats and salty and the had a add in the paper it was only going to be $7.99 a person and ended up being $9.99 and couldn't even eat our food and paid $40 some dollars will never eat here again supposed to have a good buffet and it was worse than ponderosa buffet and the wasn't much a verity like they said it was going to be but I will never come back thanks for taking the time to read read more
