With William back behind the bar again, things are back to their usual high standards at China Sky. We are now regulars again!!!

I've been here over 10 times. It's consistently fantastic. Excellent food service and atmosphere. I'll be back for more.

What a complete disappointment. The only thing that kept this from being one star was that the cashier was pleasant and the restaurant appeared clean. China Sky has gone from an okay Chinese food that is at least convenient for local residents, to just above bad. We started with Hot and Sour soup. The broth was so thick you could just about feel the corn starch in your mouth. Next were Spring Rolls. They were wet with oil and no flavor. For the main course we had Amazing Chicken and Mrs Tso's tofu (or something like that). When I ordered over the phone, I asked for extra spicy. I emphasized that point at least twice. They looked quite nice, though there was quite a bit of oil floating on top of the sauce. The main dishes weren't over or under cooked but that was about the best you say about them. The were far too sweet and not spicy at all. There were whole red peppers. Maybe they use a special variety with no heat that let wimps think they are eating spicy food when they see the peppers in the dish. Finally, finishing up with fortune cookies, even those were a disappointment. Mine said "It is always darkest before the dawn". I suspect some that some other disappointed diner found "A penny saved is a penny earned." read more

Ordered the Garlic Shrimp for takeout and it was very tasty. Ready in about 15 minutes on a Friday night. Also ordered the Crispy Sesame Tofu but wasn't great, too soft for my taste and not very crispy. Next time I'll go for the chicken. read more

Food is good. William the bartender is great. But the upkeep lacks something. The bar stools are in disrepair and in need of dire change. Please replace them! William is back!! Yay!! Now if they would just get new bar stools, as they are disgusting. read more

Love China Sky. Their lunch specials are an amazing deal. And no matter what time you go, the food is always brilliant!

We tried a sit down dinner with two little kids at this place. Very friendly staff, and prompt service with piping hot food. Great selection and food was cooked extremely well. This will become a favorite haunt of ours! read more

This place has amazing Chinese. Food is awesome, service is great. This is not you're typical Chinese take out joint; it is a quality restaurant and the food is a step above. If you decide to order for pick up, service is prompt. Prices are reflective of the quality of the food, so expect to pay a little more here than at your average Chinese take out. read more

The Japanese food is amazing. I havent had much of the Chinese from there though. This is the best spicy tuna and spicy salmon I have ever had. Everything is outstanding and the place is very nice on the inside. The only hangup I had for not giving it 5 stars was its a little on the pricey side read more

Been here numerous times over the past few years - for sit-down as well as pick-up. Certainly the best 'nice' Chinese place in the area, and a particularly wonderful option for folks who can't decide between Japanese and Chinese on a particular night (usually how we end up here). On busier nights, it can definitely get noisy, and the service does get noticeably slower; and the prices seem a bit high relative to their portions; however, it usually feels worth it for consistently good food and a casual environment that's always clean and seldom has a line at the door. On weekends, err on the safe side and call ahead. Their unagi don (broiled eel) and shumai are always must-orders for us. read more

Had a pleasant and quiet lunch. The lunch specials are well price given the Winchester downtown location and the portions are perfect for one person. The place is very clean with table cloths, and there is a nice view of Mill Pond during the day. read more

China Sky is a very good restaurant. We always get the sushi here. It is incredibly fresh and delicious. Last night we also had Rangoons and sauteed calamari which was cooked to perfection. The wine and beer selection is great and the service is always excellent. I highly recommend China Sky. read more

This place is SOOO good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it is really expensive. My husband and I always order the same thing: chicken lo mein, general's chicken, and pork fried rice. Unfortunately it comes to like $40+. However, it is the best chinese food around, so it's worth it. read more

My new go to for Chinese food! Does not taste greasy and is fresh. Love the crab rangoon and scallion pancakes.

Their Chinese food is average but the real surprise here is the sushi. It's not going to win any awards, but it's fresh and clean.

One waitress, short hair, has serious racism against Chinese, though she is from China too and speaks bad English. She called us psycho behind us, just because we asked if they have special native Chinese dishes. In addition, we found a woman's hair out of the soup, and that waitress knocked off a tea on my pants in the end, don't know if it's intentional. read more

An excellent Chinese restaurant. A lot of good menu choices. The house specialties can be a bit pricey, but you get fresh ingredients and high quality preparation. My husband likes the menu items that you see in many Chinese restaurants (e.g., beef with broccoli), and China Sky does these items very well too. The quality is really a cut above most other Chinese restaurants. The service is consistently great. We always get a friendly greeting at the door and when there's a wait, the staff is great about letting you know you're table's almost ready. We've never had a bad experience here and we visit China Sky often. China Sky also has excellent take-out. read more

I've taken out and eaten in numerous times. Food is always fresh. Lo mien and wonton are standouts, IMO. service could be more attentive during peak times. Higher price point than most similar places but food is definitely higher quality (worth the price premium). read more

Have eaten lunch at China Sky quite a few times. The place is spotless, and the service excellent most of the time. Sunday lunch costs more than other days, because they use only their dinner menu, and don't serve the lunch specials on Sundays. The food is less oily than Chinese food most other places, and the ingredients all very fresh, high quality, and properly cooked. They don't skimp on the vegetables, and one can get a very respectable vegetarian meal there. The trade off is that they seem to have some problems achieving a tasty balance of flavors and spices. In fact, you would not be wrong to ask "what spices", in response to the extreme blandness of many of their dishes. Their soups seem all to be based on a mild vegetable broth, which is fine, if you are featuring seafood and certain vegetables, but is totally disappointing in their relatively flavorless version of hot and sour soup. Steer clear of their moo shu, which suffers from an excess of soy sauce. Do NOT order the Szechuan bean curd, which consists of a huge bowl of bland brown sauce with soft tofu floating in it, no vegetables or other interest to be seen, and quite unappetizing. Some better choices include garlic eggplant, garlic shrimp, some of the dishes featuring actual veggies, and the wonton soup. We have enjoyed all the Chinese meals we have had there, because of the quality and freshness of the ingredients, and comfortable surroundings. The Japanese sushi choices are acceptable. But we have yet to eat anything spectacular, creative, inspired, or unusual there. read more

Came here, while there was a full restaurant, to order a cocktail and got turned away because they were closing in 10 minutes. I could understand if I was ordering a 3 course meal, but just one cocktail? Unprofessional and rude. read more

If you want overpriced food served by a very rude staff this place is for you! In additon the food is sure to MSG you to near death. I have tried this place 3 times. Treated poorly each time and felt like crap the next day. Parking, learn to walk. It's not worth it. read more

This used to be my favorite Winchester restaurant. We were there this past Saturday. Was very rushed by waitress and waited 15 for a warm martini, no water and lukewarm tea. Sushi was warm and we sent it back but meanwhile the warm dishes had arrived (they were very good). Detected an attitude when complaining about warm sushi. The check was thrown on the table with some stale fortune cookies. We wont be returning anytime soon and will pass the word about the bad experience. read more

We've eaten here frequently, both as a couple and as a family, and we've never gone wrong. It is far beyond a "Chinese restaurant", with interesting dishes and very fresh ingredients. The crab/asparagus soup is terrific, and their sushi plates hit the spot. Lots of families eat there, and it's a great place to teach your kids "fine" dining manners, as the place is a bit nicer than the casual Chinese spot. Lastly, they have a great barsitting area to pop in to for a snack and a drink. read more

As a Chinese person, it almost shames me to enjoy an "American" Chinese restaurant this much. But boy, the food here is fresh, the sesame chicken is always crispy and well battered, and the overall quality is noticeably higher than many of the Chinese places in the neighboring areas. It is somewhat pricey, but for well prepared food (not too oily, like a lot of Chinese places), this restaurant is good. read more

The decor is quite upscale - more like a posh hotel lobby than a Chinese restaurant. Too bad the food and the service did not live up to the decor. I ordered the lunch special - Shredded Szechuan Beef with vegetable fried rice. The hot and sour soup was fine but the beef not only was not spicey (as had been indicated on the menu) it was boring and bland, the celery had not been peeled and was stringy, and the fried rice was basically taste-free with one or two peas. There was no soy sauce on the table which I was hoping to add to make the food more palatable. Unfortunately there was also no wait person around to ask. Even though there weren't many diners at the time and I counted at least four wait staff plus a hostess, service was minimal . I was very disappointed and came away feeling it was all about surface - it looked good but nothing else was good. I will not be back. There are plenty of good Chinese restaurants in the area I can go to instead. If they keep this up I'll be surprised if they stay in business. read more
