I ate at China Taste via a GrubHub delivery and the food was delivered hot, quickly and tasted delicious. The wonton soup broth was different than most Chinese restaurants serve in the US, as it was not greasy and salty. The wontons were generously sized and light and fluffy. The steamed shrimp dumplings were also light and flavorful with a hearty sauce on the side. We also ordered some shrimp rolls and they were crisp and hot. For the mains, we ordered Shrimp Lo Mein and steamed shrimp with General Tso sauce on the side. You don't have to be Inspector Colombo to see a trend, Shrimp. I and a pescatarian, (a vegetarian who also eats fish). The Lo Mein was had the largest shrimp I have ever seen in a Lo Mein dish. They weren't the normal tiny salad shrimp but nice big medium shrimp. Finally the large steamed shrimp and broccoli was perfectly cooked and the sauce was excellent. Coming from New York, I was spoiled in regard to the quantity and quality of Chinese take-out restaurants nearby. After making the move to Florida and being continually disappointed as I tried one Chinese take-out restaurant after another, I finally gave China Taste a try and was immediately taken back to the flavors and quality I was so used to back home in NY. I have zero qualms with any of their dishes. The quality of ingredients and service, the size of the portions and the confidence I have when placing an order with this restaurant are unsurpassed - not to mention I've never had to wait more than 30 minutes for a delivery order, regardless what I ordered or the time of day. I highly recommend the General Tso and beef & broccoli entrees. These are mainstays in Chinese take-out that every other local restaurant I've tried just can't seem to get right - also, order a couple extra egg rolls, you'll be glad you did! read more

Terrible place food is average there are 15 other Chineese food places close by here that probably have better customer service. They don't care what you request and scream at you when you try and ask for something simple like no cabbage and not so many carrots. This is a great menu and delivery service. I don't know why Yelp doesn't list it as delivery but it has prompt and friendly service. (Please tip the delivery drivers!) If you go to their website, you can order right online, pay for it with a card, and even include special notes. I ordered their Mu Shu Vegetable, which is very hard to find, and it was excellent and a huge serving! I like to get extra rice pancakes with it, so I just typed in "extra rice pancakes, go ahead and charge me for them", and that's what they did for only a dollar. I also requested plasticware and napkins - its very cool to be able to write them a note. Next time I would ask for extra plum sauce, as I like a lot and it was a small container. For what it is - it was good. We didn't feel like going anywhere tonight so we ordered for delivery (even ordered on line - total plus). It took about an hr and the website quoted 45 mins but again we didn't want to go anywhere and it wasn't super late. One thing my boyfriend and I liked was the option for small or large. We were able to get a few things since we ordered smalls. We had spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken, beef Choy mein, chicken chop suey, pork fried rice and beef and broccoli. Everything was still nice and hot. The only thing I didn't care for was the chicken chop suey but that is probably personal preference. All this was under $30 with the $1 for delivery you really can't go wrong !!! Overall I'd definitely order from there again. Well the food is delicious. Food seemed fresh and tasted great. I ordered a large order for delivery and my only complaint is thier menu on Yelp. It listed chicken teriyaki with no other descriptors as to what the order included and when I recieved my food I checked and it was 3 pieces of chicken on a stick. It was pretty annoying so I called the restaurant. The guy proceeds to tell me that I need to learn my foods and that chicken teriyaki is Japanese and that this was a Chinese restaurant. Well I asked why it was on his menu or why wasnt that clarified and he muttered "oh my god" under his breath with a bad attitude. This is a great out of the way little Chinese Restaurant in Paradise Plaze. The food has always been good and hot and plentiful, and reasonably priced. I was turned on to this place by my surgeon I saw going in there one night to pick up dinner. I felt if it was good enough for him, it would be for us and we have not been disappointed. Aside from my initial review of "China Taste" here in Sarasota back in June of last year. I've continued to order "Take Out" at least once every two months or so. I always make my orders via their website which is pretty good in a basic manner. My only beef (pun intended) is that there isn't an option to first log in before having to select ones full order before payment. Also the last 2 times I've ordered "Bourbon Chicken" via the website. I'm getting delivered a "Bourbon Pork" instead it sure doesn't look or taste like chicken to me. Besides their "House Special Fried Rice" is mediocre I would avoid it. I have yet to taste a Chinese Fried Rice that is excellent in Sarasota. I've only had the pleasure at two eatery's in Miami over a decade ago. Other than that the steamed dumplings are excellent as an appetizer. Much like "Denise A." recommendation the "Moo Shu" was an experiment on my part independent of her review. I ordered the Vegetable variety and it was delicious and the portion sizes were great. A unique kudos as a minor detail their sales receipt of my take orders. Moving from NJ I wasn't sure I'd find good Chinese takeout, but after having it at a work party I was hooked! I tried their steamed pork dumplings, which were better than I've ever had. I had the chicken lo mein and an egg roll too. Everything was really good and am happy to say I now have a Chinese takeout spot in Florida! It's a good location too with plenty of parking. This place is in the Siesta Dr Publix. It doesn't look like much, I would advise take-out because there's not much ambience but the food is terrific. I grew up outside NY so New York style Chinese is what I look for. This is the best I've found in 5 years in Florida. THEY DELIVER, are Vegetarian friendly and can understand technical requests over phone (no communication issues). I've had bad chinese all over the country (especially in Pittsburgh and Olympia), and this place is not bad AT ALL. In fact, it's my favorite in town, even over overpriced big name places like The Drunken Poet (although Poet is Thai fusion and not Chinese). I always get the tofu general tsao's. They are little firm squares of crispy bite size popcorn style tofu in the sauce...EXCELLENT!! $8 or so. Ask for it to be EXTRA crispy. The mixed vegetable dish has a sauce that really pops with flavor, not greasy and veggies are not cooked to death. $8 or so Both entries above come with white rice and when I asked them if I could sub white rice for veggie fried rice, they easily understood and completed the order correctly! special request was $2.50 but I gladly pay that for awesome flavored veggie rice over basic white rice. Plus, they DO NOT USE EGG in their veggie fried rice! How wonderful! There is nothing worse that being vegetarian, ordering a veggie dish, only to realize the cook used meat products in it. The delivery was fast too! When I think about the places I have spent $30 on around the country for Chinese food, this one excels above and beyond. If you think this food is bad, you must have unrealistic expectations and/or have never had poorly executed chinese food. You can do a lot worse and pay a lot more in this city, trust me. Had this place delivered to my door!! For some reason almost no places in Sarasota do that and none that have been even close to edible!!! Then comes CHINA TASTE!! DELISH!!!!! so good!!! The pork lo mein was so garlicky and good and the soup was amazing!! Even the crab rangoon, a guilty pleasure of mine was way better than like 90% of places I've tried. I have to start by saying that I am very disappointed with this restaurant. I used to deliver food from here when I worked for a delivery service & thats when I started trying their food. The food was great, very quick & prompt. Never had any issues however I ordered last wk from them & ordered something different than my usual past orders. It was smothered in oil & it tasted nothing but oil. I've never had this problem before. Anyhoo I brought the food back in to explain to them the problem & that it didnt agree with me too well thinking she would make me something different. The type of customer service help I received was none other than rude & insulting. The small oriental woman who is in front didnt give me the time of day to listen & comprehend a single word I was saying. I asked her if there was possibly a new cook or something & she rolled her eyes at me only to say "we have same cook all the time" she said "there was nothing wrong with the food, it was me." I was being so calm about it but I just couldnt believe how she was treating me infront of other waiting customers all bcuz I brought one meal back. She gave me a refund & asked me for my number so i gave it to her thinking she wanted to verify when the order was placed... Nope.. She blacklisted me. She said I was not allowed to order from there again. I think at that point i lost my cool & calmness with her. I explained that this is not how a business treats paying customers & this isnt the way to handle this. You dont treat people that way, as a business owner you make it right. We pay for you to keep ur business going not the other way around. I told the waiting customers behind me "let this be a lesson to you, dont bring back your food or they will treat you the same way" its sad to bcuz this is the first time ive ever had an issue ever! Bottom line... They make the business. Cant be a happy customer when customer service sux. Sadly Won't be referring anyone here! That's their fault! This is my favorite Chinese food for take out/delivery. I always order the General Tso's Combination Platter. It's enough for 3 meals! Vegetables are always fresh and cooked perfectly. The fried rice is on point... made to order, so it's not overlooked. My 3yr old daughter loves their Chicken Lo Mein. She picked it off the menu by name the first time I asked her what she wanted and it's her go to. I love their Crab Rangoons too. It's mostly cream cheese... but I love cream cheese, so there you go.
