Fast food Chinese flavor is always my favorite it reminds me of that Chinese spot i grew up going to when i was a teenager, the rice & noodles are very well seasoned and have great flavor. Cheap Chinese food. It's exactly what you'd expect. Delicious, salty and fills you up. The staff are extremely friendly and kind. Sometimes the lady will kinda sass you but I appreciate it. Gosh... It's been along time since I've been here so I imagine they changed ownership or cooks. They used to have the best barbecue pork in town sliced to order... Now it's just like everybody else floating in a big tray of greasy water juice stuff. Super tough, nothing like it used to be. Same thing with the orange chicken. Came back for some more Curry.... only one problem... Found something that I have only had one other time in Las Vegas.... Thai Fried Chicken... This is seriously good... makes the Colonel look like an amatuer... and most other places just okay... I came here because of the 4-star review, but was disappointed. I also went there because I saw a kung pao tofu entree, but when I got there and asked, it was not available. The orange chicken was subpar, it had a thin-to-not existent outer breading. The service was not that great either. I asked the lady for some chili paste for my wife and sriracha for me, but she was hesitant to give me both and asked me to pour some sriracha on my food instead from one of the bottles on the side, not even giving me a container to pour it in. I got their 2 entree meals all white rice with orange chicken & spicy chicken. The spicy chicken tastes like it was from yesterday and they reheated it up. It was dry but saucy. The orange chicken was a huge disappointment. It literally tastes like only flour no chicken & it was from yesterday. So it tastes like stale flour in sauce. Our go to Chinese food spot around here. The food is excellent for fast casual. The bbq pork is the best I've ever had for a fast casual place. It even tasted good the next day after it was microwaved. The rest of the food is great too. We come here about once every week or two. I've been coming here about once or twice a month since I moved down to Long Beach. Usually on my way back home when I don't feel like cooking. It's really good Chinese take out. A two item combo is under $7 and they usually give very generous portions. The staff are always very friendly. They're really good at keeping all the items stocked and looking fresh. I haven't had an entree item that I haven't liked yet. My recommendations would definitely be the curry chicken, the pepper chicken, or the jalapeno chicken. If you like spicy food definitely get the jalapeno chicken. They don't really de-seed the jalapenos so it's pretty spicy. I have 0 faith in fast food in general so I'm surprised to be writing a 4 star review, not only of fast food, but Chinese fast food. I thought the days of cherishing greasy mall food were well behind me, but indeed they are not. Behold, the jewel of the 7th Street & Termino Ave strip mall. It's got the most prominent sign of all the tenants and even though some spots are designated for 7-Eleven, you can usually find a spot as long as it's not peak hours but you're bound to find something in the neigborhood or on 7th. Speaking of 7th, I'd be a bitch to recommend entering from anywhere other than via a right turn from Termino or the subsequent right from 7th. Staff are always super nice and even though the trays under the heat lamps probably haven't been sitting there long, I really don't have enough of a death wish to try anything other than the egg rolls and the chow mein. That shit's already salty as can be and makes my fingers dutifully swell up after each indulgence... but I love it! Veggie egg rolls are good. Chow mein is great! It has a little spicy kick to it and a few random piece of carrot or cabbage, but mostly glorious thick orange tinted noodles. $4.25 buys you a large container. Each time I reach the bottom of the container, I'm amazed by the absence of a pool of oil. If I'm heading out on a long flight, I try and stop to pick up a quart for the next day. read more

Sliced fresh right in front of your own eyeballs! It is deeeee-licious! It does sell out so call if your going after 5-6pm to verify they still have some. WOW. I just received very rude customer service. I just worked a 12 hour shift at the hospital and came to this place to eat wonton soup. I was aware they closed at 9pm so I planned on leaving 2minutes before. Around 8:40pm, they tell me for the second time that they close at 9pm. Food was great! We got the 2 item plate + 1 small item on the side + 2 egg rolls for less than $15 and got about 5 servings out of it. I agree with other comments that not too much beef in Beef and Broccoli but I like broccoli and considering the amount of meat in Orange chicken and Kung Pao chicken, we were happy to get some veggies. I've driven by China Wok Express many times and figure - it can't be that bad if it's been around for ages - right? Well, I'll blame this choice on the fact that I was in a hurry, so I needed to grab food quckly and I left my phone at home (ya know, the one with the Yelp app prominently displayed in the left hand corner). So, as others have said here, it's cheap. You can get 1/2 rice, 1/2 chow mein (or all of either) and one dish (all chicken or beef - not one shrimp selection) for $3.99. I understand shrimp needs to be made & served right away or else it gets rubbery. When I arrived home, I opened the to-go container to see an extremely large mound of noodles - so big it could feed a family of 5! With 7 small shrimp about 1 1/2" in diameter. Very strange proportion. So for $3 more than a nice sized chicken dish (that also contains veggies), I received 7 small shrimp? So, maybe it tastes good? Naw. It was hot, but very salty and peppery (in that powdered, dusty pepper kind of way). I now have a dilemma - what to do with chow mein that would feed 4 1/2 people? read more

Well, you get what you pay for... We got some takeout from here for the first time last night; it will be the last time as well. Props to the worker who was friendly, welcoming, and smiling. Hence, the only positive part of the experience -- not the food. The price was definitely cheap, especially for the quantity, not the quality. The lo mien (LOW mien) was a predominant mound on top -- enough to feed a small family, which left a distinct metallic aftertaste. After moving the mountain of this aside (not wanting to chance illness, it was that bad) I tasted the other items. The mushrooms and zucchini looked appealing, and were hot. Therein the positives ended -- it was simply bland, with no taste appeal -- no desire to attempt more, so onward. Next, to the orange chicken -- again, bland, and lacking in any sort of spice, much less simple salt and pepper. Plus, there was a certain off-putting taste to this -- again, did not eat beyond a couple bites. Last was the fried rice. While hot and not dry, again the lack of any sort of real flavor was it's downfall. Thankfully, the fried rice did not leave any icky aftertaste, and now really being in need of sustenance, I ate all the fried rice. Fortunately, my fear of resulting illness did not transpire. I'm really stunned by the positive reviews this place has received; that was not my experience. Buyer beware -- you'll get tons of food, but not necessarily edible, even for cheap -- 1960s canned Chun King Chinese food products were much more palatable to me.
