Whether for a meal or a snack, I come here to fill my cravings. Despite the prices of so many places going up, this place remains to be affordable, and yet still amazing. I strictly go solely for the pan fried dumplings. From the flavours, to the dumpling lace, nothing can top this place for me. The service is always quick and the inside is always spotless. I highly recommend to give it a try, and! They are right in the middle of bubble tea central!!

I had to grab the prices from Hungry Panda online because I don't trust their menu photos from three years ago :') The prices here as a whole are extremely reasonable though but as far as I remember, they only take cash -[PANFRIED BEEF DUMPLINGS - 5 PIECES] $11.24 (10/10) These are always perfectly panfried, and filled with soup so be careful when biting into them. I suffered this time because I haven't had dumplings in quite some time but that's 100% my own fault :( These also go really well with black or red vinegar if that's your thing too -[SOUP FILLED DUMPLINGS - 6 PIECES] $11.24 (10/10) I haven't had a soup dumpling in a while but this really hit the spot! Unfortunately for me though, my ability to utilize chopsticks is basically non-existent so even though I can pick up food, and get that same food into my mouth, it is by no means a graceful action. This inability to use chopsticks well is what caused the soup in my dumpling to drain before it got to my bowl for the first one I tried to grab D: I learned though so when I went back for a second one, I brought a spoon as backup haha. These go well with any of the vinegars too! -[STICKY RICE - SALTED] $6.24 (10/10) Best to eat this within the same few hours you order it if you don't finish it in the initial meal as the rice can harden over time. Thiis is basically a fried salty dough stick covered in pork floss, pickled veggies, and then all wrapped up by sticky rice. It is then served wrapped in cling wrap, and cut into segments. I looooove getting this because I like the different textures, and flavors each component brings to the dish -[ONION PANCAKE ROLL & SLICED BEEF] $11.24 (10/10) I one time ordered THREE orders of this to go, and it was just for me HAHA :') That is how much I enjoy it. This is basically what tastes like stewed beef slices, with oyster sauce, and green onions, all wrapped up in a green onion pancake so it becomes a roll. It is then covered in tin foil, and cut into segments! Very delicious, and good for sharing, or just for eating alone too -[MINCED MEAT WITH NOODLE IN PEKING SAUCE] $14.99 (10/10) If you order this for takeout, it can sometimes not come with enough sauce - that isn't a problem at all for when you dine in though! The sauce with the meat perfectly coats the noodles, and makes one scrumptious dish that goes with everything else ~ Be aware that this place may make you sit at a larger table, to then share, and dine with other people you don't know when it gets busy! This is quite common in Chinese culture so just wanted to provide a heads up on this aspect too. We didn't have the table-sharing applied to us though because we ordered so many dishes that it consumed the entire tabe :D

Food is excellent. You can see the ladies folding Dumplings Pork & Leek and are made fresh to order (15) for10.99. Dumplings are very juicy. Be careful when you first start biting into them ... they are very hot and soupy. The Pancakes filled with leek, egg and glass noodles are my fave 3 for $7.99 Pan fried pork dumplings are 6 for $7.99. Nicely crisped on the bottom. Place was very packed on the weekend. On Week nights are plenty of tables tho. Place is low key but not much service here. They brought us the food and never bothered to come back to check on us. The food came very fast tho. I would come back for the cheap and cheerful food!!

In search of a late-night dinner in Commerce Gate, we decided on the Chinese Dumpling House. Ordering is done by the customer with an order sheet as the menu. Our dishes came out in a fairly quick succession, except for the veggies. They seem to have forgotten to check the back of our order sheet for any dishes that were checked off and we had to follow up. The steamed dumplings came out piping hot in a large steamer basket. The dumpling wrapper was a bit thick for me, but that's just my personal preference for thinner wrappers. The pan-fried green onion cake is different from what I'm used to. I usually see it in a pancake form instead of a spiral like this. The steamed dumplings were good, but the pan-fried dumplings were even better. They were just slightly crispy from being pan fried and still nice and juicy on the inside. The plate of A Choy that we got was much smaller than I was expecting but tasted fantastic. It comes with a generous amount of garlic. The braised beef noodle soup was a decent size in a large bowl and came with a lot of beef. This was a terrific meal for $15 with tax and tip included.

It used to be our go-to place northern Chinese style dumplings and beef noodles. Visited this place again after 18 months, good is the service is friendly and prompt. The food is hit and miss. Some like the beef noodles, green onion cake, beef pot still taste good. But the food is on salty side. Especially the steam dumplings are very salty and we hardly can finish them. Good thing is they are still fresh and a lady is making them daily.

Ordered bunch of take out since restaurant in dining is restricted until 26Jan Pan fried green onion cake- only $3.99 but minimal green onion filling, not crispy enough, doughy & chewy Steam pork & celery dumplings- presentation was off putting, dumpling were tannish in.color but the taste/texture was good. Pork/celery ratio decent, the celery actually was crunchy which is impressive Jellyfish- the portion was large but I'm not sure if this as real jellyfish. Somehow the texture and "mouth feel" didn't seem right to me Fries noodles w/ beef- this as the star of the group. Huge portion, had the "wok hey" flavor Pan fried pork/chive dumplings- similar to many other restaurants, nicely fried, pork/chive filling nicely minced/mixed Minced pork & Soya paste noodles- alot of noodles, not enough soya paste. Doesn't come close to the Shanghaiese style "jaja mein" so my "jaja mein" quest continues. Overall, not bad, food will last me at least 3-4 days, as Wayne & Garth would say "party on"

The food is average, it's affordable but the prices have gone up over the past few years. The service is also average. It's good for a quick meal, but nothing special.

$20.00 for mostly rice and dough.

I expected more. We ordered mapo taofu lunch special which was very good. Superior quality of rice and the taofu itself was well seasoned and "la" (spicy). Except one needed a microscope to see the amount of taofu, mostly rice. The dumplings, which was thE reason we stopped by were so promising. Hand made shui jiaozi just like in China. Visions of silky dough with juicy filling inside were teasing me. FAIL! The dough was nothing special, and barely any filling at all. Dry. So disappointing.

Doesn't look like much when you're looking inside this place or when you're looking at the photos online. The food was just what I expected for it's price, quality and appeal online. My boyfriend and I stopped by here since it was one of the few restaurants still open later than 10pm. It worked out also because I wanted to have dumplings. The staff and service is what you'd expect if you dined at any Asian restaurant that don't put much effort on the service aspect of the business so it is what it is. Neither friendly nor rude, just adequate. This restaurant would probably be on my list to go to when I'm super hungry and have nowhere else to go after 10pm.

    - not too much traffic, no need to reserve - booths are terribly worn through with rips. They could at least patch it up with tape so it doesn't rip more and we aren't sitting on sponge - servers were not attentive. We needed more tea and they didn't refill despite the restaurant being quite empty (around 7pm) - one of our dishes did not come at all. My friend had been before and said the food was tasty so we let her order a few items she got last time including: Cold Pork belly with ginger - thin slices topped with chopped garlic in a light soya sauce Beef brisket noodles - noodles were quite fresh tasting and well cooked Vegetables with mushroom - Choi with sliced white/brown mushrooms werent greasy or heavy but dressed in a flavourful sauce Some spicy chicken + rice dish I believe from their lunch menu. This was my favourite dish. I didn't eat the dry chilies but the spice level was very good and the chicken was delicious. I also live when red Peppers and carrots are paired with stir fried chicken. Thick, glaze like sauce. Pan fried pork and leek dumplings - large with a nice thick wrapper that leaves a bit of chew Price is very good so I would come again but would choose to order and pickup the takeout instead!

    Must have side dish!

My go to dumpling place in Richmond Hill. How can you not serve good dumplings with a name like this! Not sure what to say but try them all! Serving size is pretty good and the skin not overly thick or thin. I come here lots and have never been disappointed. You should also try the green onion cake too. Parking may be your only challenge here!

If you ever want to eat on a budget and be full and satisfied, then this place is definitely for you. Chinese dumpling house is one of my favorite restaurants whenever I'm in Markham and craving for some dumplings. Coming around at 7pm on a Friday, the restaurant was starting to get busy but we managed to get a seat. How you order would be through the menu sheet on the table where you can indicate the quantities of each dish. There's a variety of dumplings to choose from, and the offer steamed/pan fried options. They also have rice and noodles as well, but of course we came here for dumplings ;) Food wait time was around 10-15 mins depending on the meat as some takes longer to make than others. We ordered: - Pan Fried Pork Dumplings (6 for $6.25): Perfectly fried and very juicy! The pork was super soft and definitely was fresh. Every bite had soup coming out haha. - Steamed Lamb Dumplings (15 for $8.99): There were so many pieces! These were also equally juicy and you can really tell how fresh it is; they make their dumplings in house daily. - Pan Fried Green Onion Cake ($3.99): It was very tasty and definitely soft, but I'd say that it was a bit too oily because when I held it with my fingers, there was a good amount of oil on it. - Tomato and Egg Drop Soup (Regular for $5.59/large for $6.59): Very tasty, and the bowl was huge! My friend and I couldn't finish this in one sitting. With all these dishes, our bill was under $30 with tax/tips. Definitely a great restaurant if you're on a budget and for tasty food!

Wanted to try something different so went here first time with the woman on NYE for dinner. The food was very good and reasonably priced except the service dropped it down a notch. $48 including tip. 2 people behind the counter at front making fresh dumplings and Siu lung bao. One more person in front looking after the take out orders and preparing when customers arrive. After our dinner was served, totally forgotten after that until we wanted the bill. Overall good first experience.

As I said earlier, they are pretty traditional. If you've been to some more local restaurants in HK, you'd understand. Yes there will be some old Chinese ladies yelling at each other. Yes, their attitude can be bad at times when they are super busy. But for $8.85 and a drink? I think I can live without the "good" service and pay $15-$20/dish. All in all I'd give them 4.5/5.

We had: # Deep Fried Taro & Pork Dumpling # Beef Ribs (steamed) with black pepper # Har gow # Steamed vegetable dumplings # Steamed Sticky Rice W/ Chicken In Lotus Leaf # Hot and sour soup # XLB # red rice noodle roll with crunchy shrimp One thing I felt was the texture of shrimps were a bit dry and crumbly. What I look for when eating shrimps in har gaw or rice roll is the plump-y texture with thin crisp with explosive juiciness when biting in. I did not feel that sensation, which was disappointing. XLB was machine made. Vegetable dumplings have good crunchy texture but the flavor is mono-tone (potato heavy). Beef ribs were generous in portion, good seasoning. Noted to myself: Dim sum at this place is great for budget conscious large group gathering. Good enough and reasonable.

My review is based on comparison to dim sum place in nyc. Price is good, and dim sum are huge…read more My favorite is the bbq roast pork hor fun. $15 CAD. A lot of meat. Roast pork are above average, but it is only like $10 USD. My wife loves the squid, kids love the fried dumpling. Fried dumpling are huge, with 3 shrimp inside, well pan fried. Squab is only 20 CAD. Shrimp har gow is the biggest i seen and with a shrimp. My least favorite is siu mai. It is huge but it is a bit mushy. Waiter is friendly. He was asking us where we came from since he doesnt recognize the Chase credit card. Overall, a great experience.

Service was amazing Food and price not so much…read moreThe service deserves 4 stars, it was friendly, courteous and efficient. They must have filled my 2 teapots 4-5 times even if it was not needed. Also, they replaced my plate which had bones. A sight never seen at dim sum. Everyone smiled and was very polite. But The food, the food was just average, average at best Nothing spectacular however not horrible. Food deserves 2 stars The topper is the price. I came at 9:30 am and there was no special price for small, medium and large. It was all menu priced. That's a first for my dim sum experiences. 1 star for price And 3 stars all together, that's already very generous. I would caution a recommendation as I won't be back ever again

I've been to Jumbo Lobster a few times for dinner and have truly enjoyed every visit!!…read more First impression as soon as you walk in - this place is impressively grand. Plenty of seating for different sized groups, and the walls are lined with either wine, cuts of meat or tanks filled with various sea creatures. For dinner, we always have to order the lobster and steak combo. The steak has consistently been a flavourful medium rare (to our preference) and there is so much meat from these lobsters! I can't pick which way I like the lobster cooked more - steamed or wok fried.. both are delicious. For additional dishes, you can't go wrong with the short beef ribs and the pea shoots with king oyster mushrooms are a great option if you're trying to add veggies to a meat-heavy meal. The service staff are always on top of it. They are always coming around to make sure we have enough water at the table and food came out so quickly. I can't wait to come back again soon!

We had an excellent waiter, the food was very good, and the restaurant itself was beautiful…read more Unfortunately, our entire evening was ruined by the manager at the front. When we arrived, he insisted that we did not have a reservation even after we showed our confirmation, and, instead of apologizing for what appeared to be the restaurant's booking system error, he tried to lecture us about how certain reservation websites do not allow large-group bookings. Rather than taking responsibility or working professionally toward a solution, his attitude was rude, dismissive, and completely inappropriate. Fortunately, the lady working with him was kind, professional, and genuinely tried to explain the situation and find a way to accommodate us. She deserves recognition for her efforts. Our group was in town for an eight-day conference with more than 3,000 attendees. Because of this experience, this restaurant has unfortunately been added to the "not recommended" list for this annual event. When restaurants host business travelers, the way guests are treated matters just as much as the quality of the food. Unprofessional treatment of customers and business partners can damage relationships and cost businesses significant opportunities. To anyone considering this restaurant: the food is excellent, but if you're planning an important business dinner or any special occasion, be aware that the wrong interaction at the front desk could ruin your evening. Great food alone cannot make up for poor management and unprofessional customer service.
