There's no food sitting under a light even if you order ahead. He's fast & makes it as soon as you arrive so u can take it fresh & warm. Now my pix don't do this food justice but believe me- & I eat out A LOT - ¡Chingon! Has a great appreciation for the ingredients he uses & it shows in the taste of his food. I went last year and they were good, went this year and they were really bad compared for LA street tacos, and really over priced - I would recommend a few other spots in the area for better tacos then stopping here! We stop by the Chingón Taco truck after the Dodgers World Series parade and so happy we did. The food was so good. We had a breakfast burritos what was so big I easily shared it with my teenage son. The burrito has carnitas, hash browns, eggs, cheese, avocados and beans. We loved it. The green salsa was excellent. My husband also had a breakfast burrito with out eggs and with carne asada. He loved it as well as the red salsa. He mixed with with the green and said it was a must do. The staff in the truck is super nice as well. I don't know what they're catering is like, but my friend and I spotted their truck while eating through the Artist's District and figured we could stuff ourselves just a little more. We got the carne asada mulita and carnitas taco. Both were juicy and flavorful. The mulita was extra hot with the crispy cheese grilled on the outside. At the expense of some burned fingertips and tongues, we wolfed it all down. Everyone will have their own thoughts on gentrification, but I must say that a side of it that I don't hate is having an abundance of tacos trucks now night and day in the Arts District. Chingón Catering often hangs out during the day, and while their tacos are good, I think they're bested pretty easily by some of the nearby competitors. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Things are pretty straight forward at Chingon. You place your order, wait and bit, and they yell your number out the back with your order. There are some seats here and there and a makeshift table. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Tacos at Chingon run $2.00 a pop, which is reasonable given their larger than usual size. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? These tacos were just okay. The tortillas tasted store bought and weren't as fluffy and fresh as you can find elsewhere. The meats were fine, but also not the best I've had, and the salsas, while possibly the highlight, were fine. Single Star. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? So here's the thing, as I've said, there's now an abundance of taco trucks in Arts District, and to be honest Adrians Taco Trailer is so strong that I can't yet recommend anywhere else. The food is definitely Chingón AF! The truck was parked in Japantown and decided to give it a try. We tried all the meats they offered! The burritos were huge, we surprisingly could not finish it. The quesadilla was cheesy, creamy, and meaty and the tacos we a good size. Our favorite meat hands down was the steak, it was flavored so well with the right amount of seasonings and lime flavor! There's an abundance of taco trucks around this area (Arts District, near Angel City Brewery), and Chingon was parked right outside of Mura on Traction Ave today. This one is 1000% my favorite out of all the taco trucks in the neighborhood. I've tried their carne asada, al pastor, and carnitas so far in the form of tacos or mulitas, and they're so flavorful and delicious. Hands down best Mexican spot here in Little Tokyo. There is a line past 12:30pm for lunch so next time I am going to try to go earlier. My co-worker ordered 3 tacos and waited for 15 minutes...she was getting a little worried they forgot her order, but when they called her up, they gave extra tacos for the wait. Now any business that knows how to give and take like that definitely earns my respect. Ordered: Carne Asada Burrito - perfect ratio of rice, beans, cilantro, salsa and meat. Yum!!!! Mulitas - carne asada and man it was good! Its like fried mini quesadilla, with a little crunch, and enhances the taste of the marinated meat. Would definitely go back again and try the tacos! This is a sanitized version of a taco place that would have been in the arts district before it got so fancy. The salsa is bland and the food isn't awful, but it's not nearly as good as other taco trucks in LA. We got the crunch wrap with chicken (mostly because we were like "what's a crunch wrap? Let's try it" - it's basically kind of like a quesadilla with a bunch of stuff in it but less cheese and more meat) and the quesadilla with beans. The quesadilla ($6) was very skimpy on the cheese. But the most disappointing thing was the salsa. It was almost more like marinara sauce than salsa. In LA, there are so many excellent options for Mexican food, but this is not one. You're better off going to Taco Bell - at least there you can get a fiery Doritos locos taco. read more

This is a solid taco cart--clean, orderly, efficient. They don't have a lot of condiments for people to touch. It's all done for you. But I'm actually pretty okay with that: You get less cross-contamination that way. And they also make it so that there's great balance in the various elements. And of course--less waste. The tacos came out hot and flavorful. And I saw a lot of people coming from the Bar/Brewery in the Arts District...who were very satisfied. The price is on the upper end for a taco truck--even a pretty one with a slickness. 2 bucks will get you 1taco. But in my book, it's worth it to pay a little bit more. I was walking to Arts District Brewing Company and happened to walk past this little gem of an eatery. I ordered the carnitas mulita for 3 bucks and boy was I happy. My first bite went like this, "this is fuckin bomb!". I'm Mexican and my family comes from the state of Michoacán where carnitas originated, so I've had some damn good carnitas before. The carnitas was cooked to perfection and the guac salsa + red salsa on top (not spicy) added such a great compliment to the already tasty meat. I hired Chingon catering because I liked their food prior to my event. I wanted to support this business because I know covid impacted small business and I really liked their vibe. Hiring this truck was a big mistake. 1 hour in to my event I was told I could not order asada and had to pick a different meat because they were running low on food. The food was pre cooked, asada tasted old and burned. Some of my guest got sick from the food. I spoke to one of the guys running the truck about this situation and he didn't offer any solutions other than offering to cook his next parties meat. Some of my guest didn't get a chance to eat. I booked this truck for 3 hours and they packed up their truck before they were supposed to because they " ran out of food " please save the embarrassment and hire a real and professional catering truck. read more

I'd give them zero stars if I could. Bland food and terrible customer service. They show up late, unprepared, and then leave early? Then they expect to be paid in full. Also, they are rude to the guests at your event. I felt so bad for our guests and where the food is supposed to be one of the highlights to your event, they absolutely ruined it. I'm never hiring these people again and I advise you to not do it also. You will not get what you pay for and they are on the pricey side, approx $20-$25 per person at your event. This place is incredible. Let me start from the beginning: I went with my friend to a bar and knew I would want some truck food. I was pretty happy to see this place in front of a really cool bar. THEN I saw they had crunch wrap suprememe!!! Amazing. Not ur regular Taco Bell. The guy at the counter was so nice! His tattoos are amazing and the line work is impeccably delicate and controlled -- hard to believe it was the work of a human and not an angel. (Its a tattoo of his DOG and his MOM which is crazy because I have my mom and dog tattooed on both of my arms too!!!) anyways, he genuinely answered my really probably annoying questions about the various porks (carnitas vs al pastor) and man was he RIGHT. THIS IS THE BEST CARNITAS I HAVE EVER HAD PERIOD!!! Period! He even let me get half pollo half carnitas in a burrito. I'm telling you that it's a deadly combo. Do it. Also the green avocado sauce -- y e s. Yeah. This place is bomb bomb. Good food good ideas good everything and executed very well. Another note: the tortilla is almost BUTTERY? Crispy? Just ate their Carne Asada Burrito with Avocado. I figured you can't f-this up so it was a good first try. It wasn't bad. It was good size for lunch. The meat was a tad bit too marinated. I had to look at my burrito to make sure it was carne asada and not chorizo, that is how much spice/marinate on the meat. Maybe ease up some on the marinate. I guess it's best to have good extra flavor than some bland meat. read more

When we were looking for a caterer, we decided on Chingon because of their great pricing (we did a lot of research!) and their prior positive Yelp reviews. I am so glad that we used them! Holy moly! I came across Chingon's taco truck in front of Groundwork Coffee in the Arts District, and I have to say that they made the best tacos I've had in a long time. I got the marinated chicken taco, and it was a tiny thing that was packed with so much flavor. It had just the right amount of salsa and seasonings, so I didn't need anything with it.
